NuttyChoky:
Hello All,

So I have been having some thoughts on valuations...

How can FBNH and AFRIPRUD be having similar share prices - ie. N3.7 vs N3.4?

Does it have to do with the outstanding shares?

I'm asking because FBNH has full ownership of a slew of businesses including FBN Registrars (which can go head to head with AFRIPRUD), a profit making banking subsidiary, one of the largest insurance companies (after they bought Oasis insurance) as well as FBN Capital

Or am I missing something?
No longer part of the FBN Holdings. They sold the coy to themselves

RUMOR has it that UCAP is paying between 0.25-0.30 Kobo as Dividend. Please do your due diligence and this is not a recommendation grin

Moody's places on review for downgrade the ratings of 3 Nigerian banks;

Moody's Investors Service has placed on review for downgrade the long-term ratings of 3 Nigerian banks --

Access Bank plc (Ba3/B1 RUR down, b2 RUR down),
Sterling Bank plc (B2 RUR down, b3 RUR down) and
Bank of Industry (Ba3 RUR down).

The reviews are driven by our assessment of the potential weakening of the Nigerian government's capacity and willingness to provide support to the banks in times of stress, if needed. At the same time, the baseline credit assessments (BCAs) of Access Bank plc and Sterling Bank plc, the two commercial banks Moody's rates in Nigeria, have also been placed under review for downgrade to reflect:

 the increasing risk posed by the direct and indirect exposures of the banks to the oil sector; and
 the negative implications of low oil prices on the domestic economy more broadly, as reduced fiscal spending and currency devaluation pose additional asset quality risks in the face of funding and liquidity challenges.

The reviews of the banks' ratings were triggered by the weakening of Nigeria's credit profile, as captured by Moody's placement of the government's issuer rating on review for downgrade on March 4, 2016.

I think the main two lessons I have learnt are;

1) Buy you a good stock and you can go to sleep regardless of market direction

2) JIJO is stressful

After experiencing 2008 sha... my greed get limits

U will keep renewing and developing new lessons in this NSE if u don't have a good strategy and keep to it. Different strategies play out and win at different pts in time. U can't use all at once! U can't eat ur cake and have it! U cant serve 2 masters at a time! U can't have it all! I've learnt 2 be contented with what I have, cos greed can kill!
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by debeey87(m): 11:21am On Mar 09, 2016
Oando doing as if its got something up its sleeves. Could this be because of the plan offsetting of debt soon undecided

Since you are doing short term, why don't wait till tomorrow?
Furthermore it has taken almost t2o months for Tigerbrand to rally to today's price - long term on FCMB might not be such a bad idea.
