@onyemachius....

Forget about that old Ds160 and start a new one. You are good to go.

As at the time you sent in that Ds160 to now they should expect a change in your situation or life. So go ahead with your application without fear or prejudice.

People have appeared at the embassy with silly stories in the past and got denied and they came back years later when their life/situation changed and did get the visa, in your case you haven't even appeared yet.

Hello Lady G, kudos to you for the good job you are doing here. God bless you abundantly.

Please I need your help urgently.

I have a valid visa, I am applying for my daughter (a minor, we bear different surname, I'm a single mother). I added her on my profile as a dependent but system recognised two applications. I decided to delete her on my profile and opened a fresh application page but still couldn't complete the process as I kept getting an error message that she is already under my profile as a dependent.

Please, how can how I successfully get an appointment for her (Visa fee already paid in her name).

Is it compulsory that I get father's consent? I have been responsible for her since she was born. How do I convince the Visa Officer that I have been responsible for her? Is there anything I need to do? Documents? Sworn affidavits?

Thanks as you reply speedily.

good day my people I am feeling ds 160 for me wife and son but I need some guide with some questions on the form
1 the issue of educational qualification should I use last educational qualification or should start with secondary school
2 we were denied twice in Decembers 2013 and January 2014 do I make the statement separately
3 we wish to travel in july for vacation and will be staying with a family friend, I do have some family over there but I don't intend staying with anyone of them so can I go ahead to state that I don't have any family in usa apart from the person am staying with.
looking forward to a positive response

@LadyG make una take am easy.... About the conference I think I will like to add my 2 cent.

*First, If you registered for a conference that's not part of your work or you don't have in dept knowledge of pls just forget about it.Because you maybe denied at the embassy or POE.

*Secondly due to Nigeria problem with forex you may have to pay for conference above $300 twice which means you will share your card details with the organizer or send it to their account if you can or western union it to them hopefully they will receive it.

*Thirdly, You will need the letter of invitation at POE and expect some questioning.

*Also it's important that you have strong ties in your home country.

I think there's a lot of scam conference on conferencealert.com what you have to do is go on google and type what you do and add conference to it, you will see a lot of real conference I'm sure of that.

Getting conference is not hard, just go to google type year and conference on your line of work add country e.g: 2016 free international conference on bla bla bla in bla bla bla.
If there is free it will come out and if not it will bring out pay conference then you go for the one that sweet you.
Another thing you must be able to defend the conference.

@onyemachius forget about everything you filled in the past and fill in a new DS 160. I can assure you that you won't be asked any question on a No-show application from wayback.

And if they do ask... Explain exactly to them the way you posted it above.

1) Use tha last or most recent (could be BSc, MSc, PhD)
2) just state the latest one. VO's can see all your denials
3) Do not lie, they have your records due to your past applications. Just tell them you have relatives but u ain't staying with them (check past interviews here and you'll see such examples)

I wasn't asked any questions on my no-show application where I applied for child birth in June last year, I don't think no show applications count, I think it is when you attend the interview and your case file is opened then you have your records on their computer, my mum too once had a no show application and she wasn't asked anything near the information she filled then.

Two questions. The ist one is a techhnical issue. Go thru the feedback page and send a message to the embassy or just email them from your email direct.

#Father'sconsent. . A lotta People have different names on their passports with their kids. My friend did. If u are a single mother, IMO, I doubt that the vo will ask u about father's consent. You have been her legal guardian for all intents and purposes. If u are asked, u can tell the truth, I am her legal guardian and have beeen the one making desicions on her welfare from birth. Do U have her school records etc? Anything wherein only u signed?
But, I doubt the issue will come up though like I alwats say, be prepared

@Ladyguinivere, chloe7 and every guru. Kudos to you guys.
Kindly torchlight the matter for me abeg, sometime in 2014, my mum and I applied to travel to the US for a church annual programme and we were granted. We were however unable to attend the programme because i got pregnant around that time and had severe morning sickness, my dad who we were supposed to travel together with then(he already had his Visa and attended the program every year) also took ill at that time and he eventually died in Feb 2015. I have travelled on my own visa in 2015 and our visas will expire by June 2016.
However, My mum together with my younger sis and bro have been invited for this year's programme (July)and they want to apply together. My younger bro was in the UK till December 2015 when he relocated to Nigeria to carry with one of my dad's biz and he makes an average of 250k monthly from the biz, he also gets an average of 100k monthly from rents and lease of my late father's properties. My younger sis (been to UK)is a Masters degree student in Nig and she also gets an average of 100k monthly from rent and lease of father's propertities, she also gets 50k monthly for her upkeep from my mother. My mother makes an average of 400k monthly including monies from rents. My brother will sponsor himself while my mum will sponsor herself and my sis. Do u think my mum sponsoring my sis will put her at a disadvantage cos she is 27years. Actually she has a bal of like 600k in her personal account but we are thinking the VO may say how can a student sponsor herself.

Thanks for your response.

I have sent several email to USVISA support team. It's as if I'm talking to a robot. They kept replying that I should give additional information, I even copied what I wrote here (which you responded to cos you could comprehend when you read it), they still replied that I should give additional information.

They kept closing the case without proffering solution.

I am just tired.

Don't know what next to do.

So in summary your sister is 27 years, unmarried, masters degree holder, being to the UK , is not working but gets a stipend from your mom.
So she has travel history but no job. The truth is that her ties is in issue and your mom sponsoring her is also entwined with all the other factors. If your mom dosent sponsor her, who will? If she says she's spending ALL her savings on a trip that soinds off.
Will the VO hold in her favour , I honestly cannot say o! All I can say is to 'keep the faith'

@chloe7 I'm employed already, wanted to go with my employment letter but since I already filled my masters as my present status, I just dropped it,marriage isn't my decision alone to make so I don't knw when that will come up,and why waste money to go to where I don't feel like going or knows no one cos of usa visa..I really want to go with my sis and her kids for the family vacation, it really pained her,she said she will shift the vacation to December instead of easter as planned and I'll probably reapply like Sept/October,if marriage comes in btw as I wished and prayed, fine,if not does it mean if I apply with my new job, without marriage and other travel history, is it another waste of money or I shd just sit my ass back home?

Actually, i got my US visa while i was still single and i had only been to Dubai. That was in 2014, so i think u have a chance.

No, we are not related.
BTW, they will only be paying for dre flight ticket cause its stated in the invitation that accommodation and feeding would be taken care of by the program organiser. So she may just be needing like 300k for the trip.

My take is that it's up to your mom to defend why she's paying for your sister's trip and also your sister should be able to defend herself because her bank account balance is enough for her travel to the U.S especially when mom is gonna pay for the flight.
Be straight forward all will be well.
