MPC has raised MPR to 12% and increased CRR to 22.5%. No mention of devaluation.
nice one.was expecting this.
inflation has spiked in February and banks that ought to have increase lending to the preferred sector are not helping matters.
they allowed the government to decrease CRR in November but nothing to show for it.
so I expected the increase earlier in January mpc but its not too late.
thou BAD for the market in the short run

I think the first offers for UCAP should appear tomorrow, not Thursday. If there are no offers for UCAP tomorrow, that means it's till Wednesday next week.

Usually higher CRR means less money for banks to generate profits from their deposits, leading to fall in bank share prices. Higher interest rates means investors may make more money in bank deposits than in equities at the NSE.

Had to quickly average down to avoid catastrophic loss. So still have some leg in should in case.. wink But looking at the trend of the share price of companies that have declared dividend, it has been appalling e.g GTB, Zenith, Nestle & others. The problem here is IF the yield is not reasonable there might not be significant move in the price EXCEPT the cowboys aka men in black decide to pull a stunt grin

Always be mindful of men in black the market
makers. Some bid are not from ordinary investors
and jijo group, but from the men in black whom
always pump and dump. Don't be surprised to see
the disappearance of the bid tomorrow.

It was about that but after the "Good for the day" orders were cancelled, balance is 11m+. By tomorrow morning, it should climb again when bidders log in their orders for the day. From tomorroe, it should be watched closely though.
Total buyers/sellers today stood at about 70m/22m
