You offered ur father flight ticket, accommodation to attend his son's funeral in his inlaw's place! My brother it's not okay for ur father to accept such offer. It would have been better to put the burial on hold and reach a compromise on where to bury the young man. The family should put an end to this media fight and allow the soul of the young man to rest in peace.

If you can shamelessly open your open and utter these words considering the pain they're going through, I can only ask God to have mercy on you. Before you type rubbish, please endeavor to read. As far as I'm concerned, a marriage that was divorced 30 years ago and the estranged father all of a sudden surfaced right now, deserves all the treatment he gets.

Buwa and I were the product of a short and abusive marriage that ended almost 30 years ago. To a man with many other wives and children. Stella Oduah is the only father, mother, carer and provider that my brother has ever known. The Oduah family is the only Family that he has ever been part of and Akili Ozizo in Anambra state is the only hometown he has ever had.

“I called Mr Satchie and the Etoromi family to inform them immediately my brother passed. I offered flights, accommodation and special care for him or the representatives of the family throughout the funeral. I offered to build a relationship and have a new start.

“I was happy and optimistic. But i was wrong. Instead of asking about his dead son, he proceeded to use my brothers passing as an excuse to shamelessly insult my mother just like he is doing now, issue death threats and even ask for dowry from almost 30 years ago.

That is one side of the story , have you heard what the father has to say in defence of these allegations

I am for justice and upright. I don't support evil. A woman hurriedly burying a son without consulting the biological father is pure evil.

She buried a son to another man in her father's compound. Why didn't she take the son to be buried in her maternal home and disgrace her father too.

Will Jamaal the son of Tiwa ever be proud of his useless father?

Yeah, he did by having affair with his Younger brother's wife for almost a decade grin

You're right that's what in-laws (ogo) do but not IF the man divorced his wife and has taken the dowry paid. If this is the case, the children would be given their own land away from their father's land or go to their mother's house. Biko, this is not omenenu, go and ask any elder what that means.

However, before emissaries are sent, your immediate in-law to whom this is affected would have reached out to the family FIRST. In this case, the father shouldn't have waited for emissaries considering it may take up to a week or more, he should have left for his wife's place immediately hearing the news. Obugho so ofu onye nwe nwa (it's not only one person that owns a child).

Like I explained before, he did not have to contact Stella or even the kids, all he needed to do was go with his kinsman (Umunna) or delegate someone to know if the news is true. That's what EVERY immediate in-law does. After confirming that it's true, then the wife's family would send emissaries to "formally" inform the husband's family (him, his family and kinsmen), who would confer with them on how to proceed with funeral rites. You can't wait for a whole week for your in-laws who're in grief to immediately dispatch emissaries to all their in-laws, it does not work like that. Go and ask any elder if what I say is true.

The only evil being in the story is the father who abandoned his kids for over 30 years. This means he wasn't there when they were sick, he wasn't there when they were going through uncertainties, he wasn't there while they were teenagers, he wasn't there...

She can't take her son's corpse to his father's compound because the dad is more or less a stranger to his kids. There's no point explaining this to you as it appears you may not have the capacity to understand.

You can live in your cocoon as long as you like my dear, Stella Oduah has buried her son in her father's compound, if you are not ready to go and remove the corpse and transfer it his father's compound, I suggest you sponsor a bill against her action or you take the matter to court

Umunna is the highest organ of family unit in igbo land. That young man won't be admitted.

It is better if a member of umuada has a love child son at home that will bear her father's name than one where a divorcee run back to her father's compound with legitimate children of another man.

Make no mistake, Stella Oduah script what that young man read to the public cos he won't do it without her authorisation. It was a perfect ploy to give substance to their evil action. She's a politician

Oh so you know that Umunna is the highest organ of the family? Admitted to what exactly? Were the umunna not present when the man came to marry/divorce Stella the traditional way? Ogini bu isi okwu gi because I don't understand you. When a son is involved, the father would give a piece of land to his son's and/or the son returns to the mother's side if he wish. Bro, who told you the man "abandoned" the children? You could say the woman moved out with the children.

As an African man, the man paid dowry of the woman in 1984, and tradition demands that his offsprings MUST be buried in his compound. It doesn't matter whether or not they had lived with his wife for 30years or 100 years.

Let us not turn against the truth simply because some rich woman is involved. The act of Stella is abominable and may spell doom in the land.

From the fathers statement and from this young man's rant, seems like legal custody was granted to the ex senator now minister.

If I am correct, the question we should be asking Lawyers in the house is: ''does this custody still exist as the boy is dead? If it does, then she has the right to even bury him in USA.

In igbo land children belongs to the man. If you like divorce, hence bride price is paid, whatever comes out of the marriage belongs to the man before the marriage breaks.

Igbo men can never return bride price and return children as well

My brother, you don't inform elders through phone call in such matters. Can you make official demand to you boss through phone call? That is highly informal.

Ideally, Stella Oduah was supposed to carry along elders to her exHusband's place and properly inform him. You don't tell a kid to call his father and consider in such matters.
