Thought I was the only one who saw the fouls. This is why no man utd fan shouted "goal" in my area... Lolll... I kept saying, "This goal is criminal-laden... That ref is a criminal".

As far as I am concerned, they just dashed Man utd that game to help their lives after that 4-0 bashing. And that yellow on Nacho was super harsh. It obviously affected his psyche and pressing all game for fear of a second yellow.

All the same shaa... Your Pablo Maffeo is a good prospect. He did pretty good. smiley

Aleix Garcia is also showing he belongs in City's future.

Sir GoodJoe... I really envy your young players' potentials. Una dey do well... smiley

After what we say from the young players, I hope Guardiola give more playing time. Players like Angelino and Adarabioyo. The future looks bright. Aleix Garcia is an artist. I understand why Guardiola said dropping him from the Champions League was hard.

Ozil and Di Maria had solid pre season outing for Real Madrid the summer they got sold to Man u and Arsenal.

A player must train with his club xcept he is injured or out of contract, that's a different story.

Playing chaloba ahead of Mikel should tell you something.

I understand Mikel is pleading with the club for playing time in cup games to help keep him in shape due to his national team commitments.
Olympics or no Olympics, Mikel's Chelsea career was over immediately last season ended.

Very fake. Chalobah was awful. So benching Mikel who did well for Chelsea, I think the man-of-the-match against Crystal Palace. One of the best players of the Olympics and a player in fine form for his country, shows how monstrous Conte is when it comes to thwarting players international careers for his selfish benefits

Conte announced that Mikel was injured before the Zambian game. Unlike Moses, Mikel did not take the bait. It would have been easy for him to accept what the coach said and stayed behind, Maybe he would have been back in the team in some capacity.

Wah Lai. I did not think of that at all. LOL.

It makes sense. Conte was testing if Mikel had learnt his lesson and Mikel exposed Conte as a liar. shocked shocked

Wonder if Willian fake that injury to pull out of the Olympics.

Algeria want Phillippe Trousierre (now a Muslim and called Omar). If they think the guy has a clue about Nigerian football, then they are not serious. We just MUST win our 3 home matches to qualify.

Nigeria will get total support against Algeria - supporters' boss

Nigeria fans

Super Eagles will get total support to beat Algeria in next month’s World Cup qualifier in Uyo because Nigeria will qualify for Russia 2018, according to the chairman of the supporters club.

“Nigeria must qualify for the World Cup and for that, the 12thman must be united. Peace has returned to the supporters club and we are happy for that,” declared supporters’ club boss Vincent Okumagba, who has personally sponsored the country’s fans’ club.

“We did not go to Zambia because of the wranglings in the supporters club so as not to distract the team.

“Nigeria will be at Russia 2018 and so they will get total support from us to achieve that. We plan that at least 500 registered supporters will be in Uyo to cheer the Eagles to victory.

“We will energise the players for them to go and do Nigeria proud.”
Elections of new leaders of the supporters club has been fixed for December 10 and Okumagba said he is confident of victory.

“I hope to return as national chairman with a landslide victory when we do the elections because I have something to offer after 20 years in the club,” he said.

Lillestrom top official amazed by Ifeanyi Matthew quick adaptation in Norway

Lillestrom sports director Torgeir Bjarmann has revealed he has been amazed by how quick Ifeanyi Matthew has adapted to Norwegian football, while also gushing the class of the Nigeria midfielder.

Ifeanyi Matthew, 19, has made six appearances and scored two goals for Lillestrom since he moved from Kano Pillars in August.

“What has most surprised my about (Ifeanyi) Matthew is how fast he has adapted to football in Norway,” said the Lillestrom sports director.

“Most players often find it difficult to integrate because the football is usually different, but Matthew has been different.”

Bjarmann equally spoke in glowing terms about the quality of the midfielder, who featured at this year’s CHAN in Rwanda.

“He’s intelligent and plays according to the coach’s instructions, dribbles well, scores goals, his shots are clean, he is versatile and a great passer of the ball,” remarked the top Lillestrom official.

“He makes up for his lack of muscles with all these great qualities.

“We have been very impressed with him.”

Anxiety, Fear Grips Super Eagles Players With Rohr Set To Release List Of Call-Ups In Few Hours Time

Players of the Super Eagles are in tension soaked mood over the release of the list of players for Nigeria’s next World Cup 2018 qualifiers game against Algeria in Uyo.

Head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has promised that changes would be made to the team that defeated Zambia 1-0 in Ndola, in their first World Cup 2018 qualifiers.

Few hours from now or probably before the end of the day, the list of invited players will be made public ahead of the November 12 tie against Algeria in Uyo.

The statement of the coach on the addition of new players to the team has brought about the media speculating on certain players, who are reportedly high on the wish list of the manager for the all important Algeria tie.

Lot of the players who are scared of their position in the team or hopeful of getting invited for the tie have been making inquiries on the list. A sign of the fear that has grip the players ahead of the release of the list.

New Algeria Coach Boasts: I Will Beat Nigeria In Uyo, I Know Their Weaknesses, Cameroon Are No Threat

According to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com, former coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Philippe Troussier won the race to replace sacked Milovan Rajevac as coach of Algeria, after promising the FA that he will beat Nigeria.

Algeria fired Serbian coach Rajevac after drawing 1-1 at home in their first 2018 World Cup qualifiers tie.

A result that made the players revolt and subsequently lead to the sack of the coach, just three months and three games into his tenure as coach.

Their next group game will be against Nigeria in just over three weeks, hence the FA resorted to appointing a coach who has experience of the African terrain in Troussier, who has handled Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, South Africa and Morocco, aside spells with various club sides on the continent.

Frenchman Troussier reportedly told representatives of the Algerian FA during interview for the job, that his knowledge of African football and Nigeria particularly will come handy in Uyo, when both sides meet on the 12th of November.

He reportedly promised the FA that he won’t lose the game to Nigeria, if appointed coach of the team. He also went a step further in boasting that his wealth of experience on the African continent will help Algeria beat Cameroon when they meet again.

Man City Fans On Twitter: Sergio Kun Aguero Don’t Like Passing To Iheanacho Unlike Leroy Sane

Fans of Manchester City have sparked a war on twitter about their striking duo of Sergio Kun Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho after their winless run extended to six games following a 0-1 loss to Manchester United.

Most of the fans complained about the Argentine not passing the ball to the Nigerian forward, particularly in their weekend 1-1 draw with Southampton, where Iheanacho scored the equaliser after coming on as a substitute.

Iheanacho who plays upfront for Manchester City alongside Aguero has an intimidating goal record of 21 goals from 48 appearances since making his debut for the team two season ago.

For all of the goals the Nigerian has scored for Manchester City only one has been supplied to him by Aguero, while Leroy Sane who joined the team few months ago, already has same amount of assist for the Nigerian.

@Mordybarry wrote, ” #Fact I have never seen aguero ever pass to Iheanacho when he is free”, his submission was backed by another fan @Byron_Smalls who wrote ” On point most City players don’t. #Iheanacho”.

So a new coach comes in that does not have a team and you leave without the opportunity to prove yourself to him.. It is not as if Conte has been in Chelsea before the Summer.. This was within his first few weeks of a new coach.. It was a huge risk for Mikel to take off to the Olympics.

Mikel saved Chelsea's season last year, it is not coincidence that result improved when he started.
This is exactly why I said you're arguing this topic with sentiments.
Fabregas have been frozen out for the greater part of this season, yet he is fit and he trained well in pre season.

Look, Conte is a world class coach. He is known for being thorough and pragmatic. Before he came on board at Chelsea, he must analysed all the players within the club and even those on loan to know who will fit in his team.
It's on record he asked about Moses immediately he came to London.
Players like Mikel and Fabregas do not fit into his ideology, that's the reason they have been frozen out.
Conte knew this from day 1 he is not a charlatan or a physical health education teacher. He is a proper world class coach.

Nigerian Defender Impresses Chelsea Boss Despite Loss To West Ham

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has explained why he named Nigerian defender Ola Aina and England U21 star Nathaniel Chalobah in the starting XI against West Ham in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Despite the 2-1 loss to the Hammers, the Italian manager reckons that his number 34 gave a good account of himself, adding that he wanted to run the rule over the wing-back in a competitive fixture.

“I prefer to speak always about the whole team but I think this cup is very important to check the development of these young players, ” said Conte to chelseafc.com.

“We have good young players and they need to play. I think the youngsters played a good game with the right intensity and concentration.

“When you lose it’s normal to see bad things but tonight I found a lot of positives.”

Ola Aina started Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in August and was a non-playing substitute versus Leicester City in the League Cup last month.

Why do you refer to him as a Nigerian player? Has he pledged to play for Nigeria? lol.

Meanwhile I have been thinking (back to the Iheanacho vs Rashford debate) if I have to pick one player on my team......at the moment it might just be Rashford. The boy is a revelation! I wonder if Iheanacho can play with such a flash to beat markers at the wings.

It really is a tough one to decide who is the better player. When it comes to final pass and link up play, Iheanacho may have an edge but when it comes to beating markers and speed, it definitely is Rashford. When it comes to goal scoring...Maybe Iheanacho...but Rashford is jsut brilliant and appealing. He seems to be more pleasant to watch than Iheanaho.

I hope Mikel leaves that club. He has done enough there. As for Chalobah I have nothing against the young man but he was atrocious and it is clear as daylight Mikel would outperform him in that game.

So the plans talk does not add. If Mikel was not in his plans, all Conte should do is to tell him to look for another club. Play him when he wants to rest his defensive midfielders.

A freezing to the point Mikel is on the bench for a kid who had an atrocious performance says it all.

The lying coach can keep his team to himself. I hope Mikel leaves.

Mikel has said that Conte has been honest with him, even if Chalobah played a great match i still won't rate him over Mikel but Mikel has been told he can go so that means it would be better to use a young player instead of a guy on the way out. Lets just pray Mikel finds the right club but till then anything can happen in football.
Please take it easy on Conte at least for Moses sake.

U sure say Wenger no dey visit NL Sports..... grin

We don talk this one tey tey... We know he can play the 10 role.... smiley
.......................................................................

Arsene Wenger Believes Alex Iwobi Is Good
Enough To Be Arsenal’s Number 10

Arsene Wenger has spoken about how Alex
Iwobi has the qualities to play in the No.10
role.

The Nigerian starlet has played on the left for Arsenal since his impressive rise to a first-team
regular, but Arsene Wenger says that Iwobi can
also play as a No.10 – the role currently inhabited by German international Mesut Ozil.

According to The Mirror, Wenger said:

“You can see that he is not a typical winger.”

“I think he can play in the number 10 role. He
turns the game forward, he passes the ball
through the lines very well, he has a final ball in
him. I think he has it all in the locker to pass and give the final ball.”

Wenger also went on to say that Iwobi needed to be calm in front of goal, and said that the key
thing for the youngster to work on now was his
finishing.

The youngster netted twice in 21 appearances in all competitions last term, but is yet to open his account for this season after 11 matches.

Iwobi, who came through the Gunners’ academy– and is the nephew of Nigerian legend Jay-Jay Okocha – was a revelation last season, displacing Gunners veteran Theo Walcott from the team.

It is a big sign of faith that he was handed a new squad number this season – one previously worn by none other than Alexis Sanchez.

The youngster is consistently putting in good
performances, and never seems overawed by the occasion since debuting for the Gunners, but, as Wenger said, his goal-scoring statistics need to improve.

The 20-year old Nigerian International made his
first team, Premier League and Champions
League debut in the space of eight days last
October. This saw him nominated for the Golden
Boy award – of which the only prior recipient who represented Arsenal is Cesc Fabregas – but he eventually lost out to Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches.

"If you want to win a team needs this type of player - Kante, [Nemanja] Matic and [John Obi] Mikel - that work hard for the team."

You can clearly see Mikel was in his plans. Does this look like a coach who planned a new direction without Mikel? After the Olympics, the same player can not make the bench even once.

You cannot see the diplomacy in his statement?
The idea that the Olympics is the reason Mikel haven't made a match day team sheet have been over sensationalized and it's untrue

You are the one choosing not to see. Conte himself listed three players Chelsea needs to win. If Mikel was a player he planned not to play once, he would not list Mikel.

That is the fact. After the Olympics, Mikel is no more in his plans. Yet you want to convince us that Mikel was never in his plans.

The facts are clear.

The three players Conte mentioned are all DMs. Basically, he ass pointing out he needs good DMs to win games and in the context he said that if out into consideration was when Kante was signed.

I wonder why you think fabregas have been away from the first team. I sure didn't see him at the Olympics
