What is this nonsense. There are more theist than athiests in Uruguay. The politics of Uruguay has nothing to do with his atheism because Uruguay is a secular country that has a higher percentage of theist compared to athiest. It's better to keep quiet than go about insinuating falsehood and lies. The man said he's an athiests and that's all to it.

Uruguay has no official religion; church and state are officially separated,[19] and religious freedom is guaranteed. A 2008 survey by the INE of Uruguay showed Catholicism as the main religion, with 45.7% of the population; 9.0% are non-Catholic Christians, 0.6% are Animists or Umbandists (an Afro-Brazilian religion), and 0.4% Jewish. 30.1% reported believing in a god, but not belonging to any religion, while 14% were Atheist or Agnostic.[91] Among the sizeable Armenian community in Montevideo, the dominant religion is Christianity, specifically Armenian Apostolic.[92]

Political observers consider Uruguay the most secular country in the Americas.[93] Uruguay's secularization began with the relatively minor role of the church in the colonial era, compared with other parts of the Spanish Empire. The small numbers of Uruguay's Indians and their fierce resistance to proselytism reduced the influence of the ecclesiastical authorities.[94]

After independence, anti-clerical ideas spread to Uruguay, particularly from France, further eroding the influence of the church.[95] In 1837, civil marriage was recognized and in 1861 the state took over the running of public cemeteries. In 1907, divorce was legalized and in 1909, all religious instruction was banned from state schools.[94] Under the influence of the innovative Colorado reformer José Batlle y Ordóñez (1903–1911), complete separation of church and state was introduced with the new constitution of 1917.[94]

Uruguay was formerly an atheist nation. Religion/Christianity broke through later.

So you read the news. Do you per chance know how they arrived at this conclusion especially since you have never been to Gambia?

Is it their suffering you only saw but you never asked HOW? or HOW DID THEY GET TO THAT POINT
It's majority caused by famine.... And whatever the cause, it's definitely not caused by the people who have to scavenge for food

Its not caused by famine. This is why i first asked if you have been to zambia before? Western Media would always paint a negaative image about Africa. Zambias poverty is not caused by famine.

A Nigerian President may have a dis -believe in God privately but appears to be a Christian or Muslim or declares to be one because of the country or politics in the country or general acceptance of religion in which the belief in God has been mistaken to be an integral part .

NB: I am no atheist.

Of course its possible . The same way there may be so many Christians in Islamic countries and because of Islam's intolerance towards apostasy , they tend to be private about it . I can assume the same thing about atheist states like North Korea .

we asked you for proof that they were ever an atheist state

your brother in arm said they had "resistance to proselytism"

the proselytism there is referring to their resistance of "Christianity" which doesn't make a state atheist, its even clear in the context of the Wikipedia words he quoted

stop this shallow thinking

I answered your questions perfectly . Atheists are the ones starving to death in North Korea while their president revels in bacchanalian parties and coerces 13 yr old females into sexual servitude . Half of the country live in abject poverty . Half . Tufiakwa !

The same thing was in happening in China till they started permitting capitalism as a recourse . The country was bedeviled with hunger and poverty .
No, you didn't. And I never claimed atheists are not starving to death. Atheists don't have a god who promised them provisions, Christians do....
And stop lying, the 10 poorest countries are African.

Atheists in Confucianism believe that ancestral spirits would help their descendants with their fortunes , so ... yeah

The poorest countries have been atheist states .

When you are in a communist country , you are expected to pledge allegiance to the Marxist-Leninist ideology as your nation's guiding principle - that means atheism is imposed . Belief in God is not tolerated especially in religion .

So President Jose who may have been born with that atheist idea since Uruguay has been with communism for a long time before it ended just before he became president .

I don't think he became an atheist from a personal choice , its more of his environment , his milieu that influenced him . The "God idea" in religion is not tolerated in communism . And there are communist parties that make being an atheist a prerequisite for becoming a member .

He may believe in God privately but appears to be an atheist or declares to be one because of the country or politics in the country or rejection of religion in which the belief in God has been mistaken to be an integral part .

That's why I said it is arguable .

You dig ?
Hmmm
So an Atheist cannot have his values?

Zambia does not have famine because much of the rural dwellers are farmers so in that regard they are good. There is food but Politics is their problem! Their poverty is deliberately being sustained so as to serve the rich. Its too complex to list out but its almost similar to Nigeria. Their problem is more of corruption related than Religion or Christianity..its mans disregard for man based on greed but the rural dwellers who are supposed to be poor are actually not poor because they are driving the economy mainly through farming and based on that the nation is doing well per their GDP which is why they are even 49 on the list. Zambia is beautiful.

Anti clerical ideas from France eroded the influence of the church. Never said it was an atheist country at all. The church only had its influence reduced it was never an atheist country don't even try to spew that nonsense.

Sorry bro . Uruguay was not a communist country but communist parties in Uruguay influenced the country's politics . And it is irreligious because the Catholic Church could not spread the gospel . Atheistic ideas also came from European countries like France .

Sorry for the mistake .

But an atheist can not have moral values . Its a joke to even assume such .

When it comes to pointers from theists you suddenly discard your ability to draw inferences but when you its about the Bible you are able to draw inferences easily. So you expect to see it in black and white where they mentioned ATHEISM?

Put my post side by side with Ebukas screengrab then make your inference
