Big Lie @bolded.... This is definitely not the only place. I know a lotta other sites (don't even think of asking.. Go find out yourself) and I have seen the issue on mikel's class stand its own coz you cannot hide and deny the many videos, clips, achievements on personal and team level and many more...... You cannot deny the expert analyses by bright minds of the game at the highest level on Mikel's kinda game and role... You cannot... Stats/facts/records don't lie.... smiley

And it is not about passion for Nigeria or patriotism. It is rather about Truth. THERE ARE STILL MANY OF YOU HERE WHO DON'T RATE MIKEL FOR NOT WEARING THE MAN UTD SHIRT, OR FOR THE WAY HE DESTROYED BARCA'S MIDFIELD IN 2012 ..... Or even the way he dominated Toure at camp nou in that UCL semis first leg in 2009 (or 2011) which ended goalless before the 1-1 at stamford bridge (Iniesta strike) got barca through miraculously grin

MOST OF YOU OUGHT TO REMOVE THE SCALES FROM YOUR EYES AND CALL TRUTH, TRUTH... YOU RATE BUSQUETS ... BUT YOU DON'T RATE MIKEL.... Exact same kinda players in the DM/CM role with marked effects and influence... With super achievements and with lots of world class performances at the highest level under their belts..... HOW CLASSIC!

You mean the Guy that Scored the Important Goal that Sent them to the final is Less Important? the One who provided the assist to Drogba is Less Important?. This is nothing but you being highly Sentimental.

How can the goal be more important than a shield who prevented Barcelona from white washing Chelsea. If Barcelona scored four or five goals, will that goal become so valuable?

You think so!!!

Mourinho did not give Kevin De Bruyne a chance despite him being high quality. Guardiola let Ronaldinho go despite his quality. Ancelotti dropped Rivaldo on the bench despite him being the former World best. I doubt Selection is the ideal criteria to judge talent. The best way for me is impact in the history of the game. Mikel made a great one.
kdb at that time wasn't at the level he Is now. Even now his world class status is debatable, he therefore wasn't anywhere close to being a world class player. He was on the bench for most parts largely because of competition with better players than him (at the level he was).

That being said you should know that when I say walk into any other team, I was talking about footballing reasons.
Don't deliberately try to blur the line.
Ronaldinho was already on the decline when he was let go.
Rivaldo, non footballing reasons...

Anyway I don't want to get into this argument anymore than I already have, I shall therefore go back to th sideline

Sir Princesuko.... I would have you know Iniesta said this after Mikel's virtuoso performances for Chelsea when he came up against Barca in 2010/11 (or was 2008/09) UCL and 2011/2012 UCL.... smiley

Mikel destroyed their midfield under hiddink at camp nou before iniesta's goal at stamford bridge knocked them out en route to barca's UCL win (I keep mixing the years.. Was it 2008/2009 or 2010/2011). That was in the semis...

Then again in 2012 (2011/2012... Mikel was key in frustrating and dominating barca's midfield en route to Chelsea's UCL win in 2012. And repeated same in the final against Bayern where he was MOTM.

That is Iniesta's official twitter account and spanish is the language. What is there to doubt again just because you wanna stand on a stong ground saying Mikel is not world class? smiley

Without that goal Barça would have won Comfortably, Chelsea defended as a team, it was not as if Mikel was playing like Kante.

You forgot with your "shield" they were 2-0 down. Mikel is No Kante Please.

I did not say Kevin De Bruyne is World Class. I am explaining why we can not use selection decision to judge quality. Kevin De Bruyne was not given a chance. Aguero is on the bench for Gabriel Jesus. Selection is not a criteria but impact over time.

I think Sir Joseph just voided the Quotes. Essien Played better than Mikel in that 1-1 match although he was to blame for the equalizer.

There have been Numerous times where most Nigerians have said Mikel should be dropped from the S.E through the Years, I would make a bold Claim that even you at One point shared that Opinion.

Mikel did not play in the 1-1 game against Barcelona. He was on the bench. When Essien scored the goal, he ran and hugged Mikel on the bench. Hiddink made a big error leaving Mikel out of the game, after Mikel's brilliant performance in the first leg against Barcelona. Mikel was a torn in Iniesta's flesh in the first game. Essien got some sticks for missing the clearance which landed the ball at Iniesta's feet but Hiddink bringing in Belletti instead of Mikel to secure the goal was the main error. Belletti was not disciplined to shield the defence and help Essien.

Saying someone did "this" without knowing he did the same "this" smiley how classic...

".....and it usually leads to insult. An average Nigerian's idea of world class is just a bit above average in the world stage that's why we hype our own too much here.

A lot of you are already tipping Nigeria to get an upper hand in the two - game encounter
with Cameroon just like you did against Egypt
in the nations cup qualifier.
Let me tell you
that game is a 50-50 chance which could
swing either way even if Cameroon hadn't
qualified from the group stage in the AFCON.

I followed this thread earlier and i saw some
people write off Cameroon from getting to the
final of the tournament. I LAUGHED. there is
no way you could write off any of Egypt,
Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria
as not being
favorite to lift the afcon anytime even if their
players are playing with half-leg. It's like
writing off Brazil in the world Cup or writing off
sevilla in the uefa cup. All I'm saying is some
teams do feel it's their birthright to win the
trophy in a particular tournament and it's stupid to write off that team even if you feel they are weak.

Seems I Mixed-Up the Scenarios but My Point still Stands. The First Leg when Mikel was playing, Barça tore Chelsea a new one, they Could have Won 4-0 and Nobody would blink an eye.

I don't seem to remember vivid details of the match but I thought Belleti was covering for the Full backs especially Cole who was always out Messi. The blame should go to Essien not Belleti.

Chec the ratings of that Match Essien was Splendid. He was specifically driven forward to outmuscle Busquets, ballack protected the back 4 that Night instead of Essien.

Man City Rave Of The Moment Gabriel Jesus Has Iheanacho’s Backing

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho is not in anyway envious of the performances of latest Man City recruit Gabriel Jesus, despite losing his spot in the team since the arrival of the Brazilian.

Iheanacho has failed to make the bench in the three consecutive games the Brazilian has been selected for Manchester City, but the Nigerian is him to continue in his rich vein of form.

” No hard feelings, at least not from a consummate and hard working professional like Iheanacho. He congratulated Jesus the next day and training after his brace against Swansea City”, a close pal of the 20 year old told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Jesus is yet to understand English but Iheanacho was still able to pass his message across to him and they both laughed over it. He has Iheanacho’s backing.

” The team comes first and Jesus is doing just what the team need to maintain their push for a strong finish at the end of the season, why would Iheanacho be envious of him
