...I totally agree with you on the fact that "Anyone who is not adept at trading stocks on the NSE should stay away from oando". But not only OANDO, but to stay away from any stock for that matter.

Contrary to your statement, characteristics of a "dying company" listed on any stock exchange (& not only NSE) is that its stock price continue to fall until it is delisted. Given, OANDO price has declined from over 20 to 5+, but this is general to almost stocks listed on NSE, except few...
However, this stock has been rising at least from December 2016. Technically, if it was dying, it is coming back to life again, perhaps.

Stock price movt are not embedded only in financial report, other factors are involved...
It appears you not in market in 2007 when the prices of dead companies moved from N0.50k to N12.00

Afroil a company without a known address due to quit notice as a result of 5 years rent payment default enjoyed a 1000% price appreciation.

I do not know much about this market but Oando is a dying company. The signs are there for all to see. That the price has been rising since December is the more reason why people should be very careful. Making money in this market is sheer guts and sometimes luck. Mobil and NIPCO for instance.
Thank's . dont buy .

The way so many people are crying more than the bereaved here, honestly I don't get it. We all are here to make money and not to discourage those with guts from doing wht they think works for them . I know how much people have made from oando since three days and people are here crying . If you did not buy oando ,pls allow those that bought to enjoy their loots. Nobody is dying inside oando ,we are all jumping in and out and making money. Business is all about risk, its either you win or you loose. So stop bad mouthing oando and allow those that are making money to enjoy their money . Even the stocks that gave dividend has not given anyone so much profit like oando has given since on Monay. Am outta here ,back to my spectator mood
One love . people are looking for dividend below #0.50 in a month and, why they can make #0.90 from oando in three days .

People can argue back and forth for all time, the truth remains that if you are trading on a company you don't know its fundamentals, you're gambling.

Armed with its fundamentals, anyone knows Oando is in serious trouble. Even their auditors have stated that in as formal a way as possible; he who has ears, let them hear.

Oando borrowed lots of money in order to buy ConocoPhillips upstream Nigerian assets at a time when price of crude oil was high and, I believe, based on valuations using high crude prices. That's the origin of the mess. Who knows, someone can turn this mess to a message.

But don't count on crude prices, because they may never rise that high again.

In the last analysis, you're the master of your portfolio.

Disc.:- Yours truly burnt some fingers here(from #30+ to less than #10).

Sir Tritri,
Q1: TOTAL analysis
Total is in downtrending and has made a recent support @ 259...

Q2: Which of this stock has higher potentials TOTAL AND FO
This question is looking for value among the 2 stocks. I am not a value trader... I look for growth. Fundamentals will tell you a more valuable stock among the 2.

Intelligent post from @OakPearl...
OakPearl:

I can understand the fury over this and the disappointment.
But let's understand the difference between technical and fundamental analysis and use them to our advantage.
I have read many years back how Warren Buffet warned against making these mistakes.
Technical analysis works for day traders to make short term investment decisions on a stock. They don't need too much information on the book value and all of those details of a company before trading in them.
Conversely, fundamental analysis works better for value investors who are generally known as long term investors.
If you are a long term investor, why worry over the daily movement of the share price of a company you have researched well and invested long term in?
Daily gains and losses are all a part and parcel of a functional stock market.
Do not use fundamental analysis alone to decide on what stock to do day trading (what we refer to as jijo here).
It will back fire!
Same way you should not take a long term investment decision using technical analysis.
In the end, for fundamental analysts we all know that what ever goes down must come up as far as all the right fundamental boxes are ticked including corporate governance.
Remember, you are the master of your portfolio.
BullBearMkt:

Nice one...
...but Warren Buffet talked, because he is Warren Buffet. He can afford to loose 1b USD & he'll not feel it. Last year alone, he lost over 4B USD on a wrong investment but same year on an investment, he made over 20b USD only on BAC. How many of us can afford to loose 10m NGN & the people around us will not know.

As you said, Fundamental is for long-term investment, however, to know the right time to enter the market, technical analysis can aid you. Technical Analysis is not only for JIJO. It is for ALL. You can use it for Day trading (JIJO), Swing Trading. For you to use it for long-term investment, that is where you add fundamental with it. It is a tool used for growth stocks.

Love your comments sir/ma.

To Newbies on this FORUM, please be very very careful. The moment you start seeing members of OLD showing face at the mention of some particular stocks, just know that it is a RED FLAG.

I have been on this thread for 7yrs+ and the likes of Dumexoga and emmanuelewumi are veterans with opposing views. The former is 90% of the time spilling info related to BULLISH run on most stocks especially OANDO (he told us his investment runs into MILLIONS) while the latter was fond of being too CAUTIOUS and a proponent of long term investment (not a fan of JIJO).

In Summary, look before you leap. Don't take any comment serious. Take the RISK and own the outcome (+ve/-ve).
Forget technical analysis and rely more of trend (personal analysis, historical data etal) and insider info (u can't get that on this blog). Finally, STOCK TRADING in Nigeria is advanced KALOKALO

Hello everyone,

Kindly share your thoughts on UCAP.

I recommend a buy at the current price (2.93)

with 3.67 (and then maybe 3.82) as target profit

level.

Reasons for buying:

1. Demand channel breakout to the upside on daily time frame.

2. Gap waiting to be covered in confluence with the 61.6% Fibonacci level.

3. Price failed to make a new low on the last sell off thus forming a higher low.

I expect the target profit level to be hit anytime between April 17 until the end of the month.

Enjoy your day people.
