You did nothing wrong but things like this do happen but looking at your application from the V.O's angle will you really return to Nigeria after the surgery? remember U.S Medical system is one of the best in the world. If you're sponsoring the trip and treatment,I'm sure the V.O will hesitate in denying you. By the way how old are you?
Thanks for replying. I don't think it is a bad idea if my cousin decides to be generous to me. He has even made half payment already. People will be compelled to favour me. I will be 30years come September

I paid for a new visa application and the nearest appointment date I was able to get is 30th of May and I have 7th of June in my invite as a departure date to the state(if granted visa). my question is this; is it advisable that I book a ticket now in advance or should I wait after my interview on 30th of May?

1. Sorry about your condition.
2. The VO PROBABLY does not believe a budget of $15,000 is sufficient.
3. Where is your cousin based?
4. The VO PROBABLY feels you might resort to taking medicaid, if your cousin can no longer foot the bill.
5. It is best to make full payment and have extra money for emergencies.
6. The VO PROBABLY wishes to ensure that you don't become a burden to the US taxpayer.
7. Are you working? Do you earn an income?
8. The VO PROBABLY feels there are hospitals in Nigeria that can give you an artificial arm, and believes that entry into the US is a privilege not a right, so you may feel you that the best treatment is in the US, but the VO PROBABLY feels you are not qualified - that would be an hindrance.
9. How about getting the artificial arm in a country apart from the US like Israel, for instance, they have good hospitals there and I am sure it won't be as high as the US.
10. Sorry about the refusal.

okechukwu101:
Please what am I not doing right? Was at the Lagos embassy today for medical purpose to fix an artificial arm for my left arm. Had a traumatic amputation of my left arm on 27th February 2017 due to a fatal accident from Abuja to Lagos I had the previous day. I was still denied visa and already have a doctor's appointment in the U.S. for May 25th at Houston Texas. I also have made half down payment too. Though I wasn't given an opportunity to tell the visa officer i have made half payment cos he didn't ask and didn't check my document/payment receipt. The last question he asked was about my sponsor, my paternal cousin and I told him about my budget of 15000dollars and what my cousin does for a living. I also had his account statement as he works with an oil servicing firm as a Sales Manager/Head for African region geocomplex which is credible enough. I will be going back very soon to the embassy again as I really need to put an artificial arm which will boost my confidence again and remove depression. Please what did I do wrong?

You are advised not to make any plans until you have gotten your visa.

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 9:18pm On May 09, 2017
That's probably the issue - this is your cousin, not your immediate family in the eyes of the VO i.e. father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter. You get to the US and ur cousin can no longer sponsor you, what then happens, you become a liability to the US government via medicaid. One way to overcome this, is to pay for everything and have extra cash for emergencies and expenses. It might help. Try it.

please I'm going for my interview ending of this month and I need to get prepared 101%.... I have few questions to ask concerning my status.

I work as a marketing and stock manager in one private company that base in PH but I'm representing the company's warehouse in the East, I have a salary of 155k and I also run a self employed biz which I have 2 sales persons I pay monthly. I'm being invited by a family in the US (though have not met them in real life)
please what are my chances with the VO? is what I have as a home tie too weak? because I can't lie about this just to get a visa. Just going as a Tourist.
please I need advice from the Gurus. omobendel, KaptainAfrica, Justwise and etcetera please help oo.

1. Invited by a family you haven't met before.
2. This family will take care of all your expenses. A family you haven't met before.
3. 21 days in Ohio, and you are the representative of a company in Aba. So for 3 weeks, you will not be at work.
4. You have people that run your company in your absence.
5. So what is tying you back to Nigeria?

I like that you don't want to lie to get a visa, but I ask you to sincerely judge yourself. Your chances are 50-50 anyway. All the best.

The key is not what you think is right or wrong, but what the VO is thinking.
As a VO I would find it suspicious that a man with no wife and kids in Nigeria is being sponsored to the US by people he has never met before - could this be a case of potential human trafficking? Could this be an attempt to get to the US and stay illegally?
I would err on the side of caution and say no. I would then call homeland security and ask them to investigate that family, just to be sure that they are not into human trafficking.
But then he might meet a favourable VO. Who knows. It's 50-50.

Scarcely will this fly IMO.... You could give it a try though, all things are possible. Who are you to that family and who are they to you? Is it not someone pulling these strings behind the scene, maybe an illegal or out of status immigrant (just taking a wide guess)? #ThatWesternUnionKini sha.

Still worried about your "former" profile (database-wise, not based on that idiotic agent threat oh)
on your changed DS160 somehow sha vis-a-vis this current one (abi no be you agent dey try that time so?).

Make sure whatever you are telling the vo correlates with what you have on your Ds 160 form.e.g.

*your sponsor
*where you will be staying etc.

JWTheocracy1:
okay thanks. what if I put it this way... I'm going on a vacation as a tourist but being sponsored by a friend over there( they have already paid for where I would stay in a Harding center). they are not into trafficking... they are also Jehovah's witnesses and wants me to visit them.. planned taking me to cedar point where Jehovah's witnesses had their first international convention in 1922, also take me on a visit to our newly built Head office in Warwick and amusement parks. they wanted to make my invitation a month but I told them as a result of My work schedule I can't stay that long because I have few other things to do before resuming back to work on 2nd of July.

there are many psychos in America. Just watch C&I or IDx on DSTV. Or CSI, NCIS and law and order.

Paedophile, human traffickers, devil worshippers, psychotic schizophrenics, you really should be careful

Okay in that case let the VO know, that you are all JW's. And that everything has been confirmed by your parish/church and it is a intra-denominational visit from one member of the congregation to another. A JW in US inviting a JW in Nigeria for a visit, all expenses paid.

JWTheocracy1:
The reason why I trust them is also the main reason why they trust me enough to the point of sending everything in advance including my ticket fare... why? because we all are Jehovah's witnesses.
thanks for your timely advice but I've called their congregation and confirm all information about them. they are real.

I think u should only answer questions been asked by the vo as honest and confidently as possible.

My elder sister's children(10,8and 5yrs old) just had an interview an hour ago and they got their visas.accompanied by their mum,she and her husband got their visas earlier this January

JWTheocracy1:
yes sir, I promise to stay honest yo the core despite what would be the outcome.

but my question is. is it necessary I tell the vo who I sponsoring my trip and how I met the family?
or should I only say that when asked by the vo?.

First of all my question is this?
Are you married?
How old are you? Is 155k the only money you earn in a month?
Are you on leave?
I see no big deal in visiting people you've not met but it's important you're going with a lot of cash in case they grow cold feet about meeting you..Oh I'm already talking like you have the visa already... You need to convince the V.O you're going to come back which is the most important reason for going for the interview in the first place....every other issue is secondary.
