Hi everyone, I bought a domain ojojorok.com that was listed for sale on namesilo @ $10 some days back. I guest is must have been registered by a Nigerian because ojojo is the name for a type of food made from water yam. Now, that couldn't have being the catch. The Catch is that, it shows that it will expire in 2026. And I didn't know it was possible to have a domain registered for that long. I attempted putting it for sale but it was not permitted, because it was sold within the last 60 days. So now I wm wondering if it could be ideal for me to use it as a blog (though not on anything related to food), if yes, how do I go about converting or linking it to blogger for instance.

The maximum you can register a domain is 10yrs while the minimum is one year so it's possible. To get a blog, visit or blogger.com.
You can equally get a proffessional in that field for a more unique design.

Good day all.

I bought a domain recently and would appreciate if the gurus in the house can appraise it for me.

vehiclerepairer.com

Doesnt sound like much but its plural version (vehiclerepairers.com) is a premium domain worth over $20,000.00. My thinking is that this fact should have an effect on the value. What do you guys think?

Also appraise globalnetworksolution.com

Thanks to everyone for the helpful inputs on the thread.

Why did you allow a domain you claim to receive $80,000 but rejected, expired and drop. I am talking about your all mighty Nametion.com?

Nametion.com used to be one of my domain names until it dropped without my notice. It was a name I was reserving for my portfolio website but unfortunately I lost it. That happens in domaining very often. Projects.com was recently lost by Merlin Kauffman and it was snapped by Tim Schoon and Yancy Naughton of Namerific despite the name being worth over a million dollars.

Loosing a name does not mean it has no value, loss of name could be as a result of combination of factors. World class names expires on Dynadot and other registrar's sites everyday.

Secondly, you may reject offer for a name and later sell it lesser or higher. Domain sell is very unpredictable at best. Jason Calacanis reject several $2m and $3m offers for 20.com and later sold it for $1.75milliom this year.

A name that is worth 20 to you could worth 20million to someone else. Sumo.com is not different from every other 4L pronounceable that are being sold for less than $50k but it was acquired for $1.5million earlier this year. So, please stop being deceived by your estibot nonsense.

Finally, I just sold Constative.com this year to a Tel Aviv based media company after working on it for two years. That negotiation took us two solid months with Latonas.com acting as the brokers. Unfortunately, I'm unable to disclose the price because I signed "Non Disclosure" agreement. That was the name I rejected offers on, not Nametion.com. BrandHeron.com has replaced nametion as my portfolio domain.

I hope these answers your question.

Cheers!

it all depends on the traffic ranking, CPC and backlink as an advantage. A .org may have more traffic more than the .com all compared to the above requirements.

No cause to worry. Afternic recently made some changes in paying out. This link will enlighten you more;https://www.namepros.com/threads/afternic-update.1015990/ A little change of payout date but your funds is safe.

@DarlintonOmeh

Think you mean Sumo.com.

In any case, I'm happy with the calm response. Was thinking this thread would go up in flames with heated back and forths.

Thanks for the correction, I have amended it on the post. The domain was acquired from the Indian holder by Sumome App early this year after over 1year negotiation

Buying a domain from 1and1.com is the last thing anyone should do, in my estimation. I got my very first domain skillphul.com at $12+ and yet unlike the next three I got from namesilo.com, it either doesn't show up when entered into a browser or it redirects to skillful.com. Now after listing with the other three on afternic.com, this is what I got and apparently, it will cost me around $9 to transfer it one those of registerers, I have started counting this as an experience on the job, I won't repeat it:

Congratulations! Your domain(s) meet our highest quality standards. This means they are eligible to be listed on our exclusive Premium Promotion network, which dramatically increases your chance of a successful sales since you get maximum exposure across every reseller on the Afternic network, and the name is eligible for Fast Transfer, allowing the domain buyer immediate control of the name. To qualify for Premium Promotion, your domain must be registered at one of the the participating registrars. Click on the button below to initiate the transfer process.

Edited; this thread is all about exposing one of the other ways to make money online. I don't want this thread to go far however my original thread was deleted late last week by the overzealous antibot. And I promise that this thread will be more interesting than the first thread.

Introduction;
As I write earlier this thread is focusing on how to make money with NEW and EXPIRED domain names, tips, experiences. Do and Don'ts.
It still amazes me that quite a large number of Nigerians are fully online with different devices phones and computers but yet not making money from it. Many things have changed and one of the easiest way to make money now is online. Quote me anywhere.

Now you may be asking" what is a domain name and how can I make money from it"?
Calm down
In one word a domain name is an online real estate. If you want to get a website for personal or business use, what you need first is a domain name. Just like if you want to to build a house, no matter your plans and design, you need a land first.
In other words, without a domain name there will be no website. Without a domain name there will be nothing like e-mail address. "Now how do I make money from it"? The truth is that most good domain names have been taken. ... They have all gone. For example all 3letter domains names has been taken. You can form it and confirm. The only avenue to target is expired domain names. And what is expired domain name again? These are domains that the original owners fail to renew. every domain has an expiry date. The maximum you can register a domain is 10 yr which the minimum is just 1 yr. Now if the original owner fail to renew it after the year duration, some grace period will be given after the domain will be dropped and become available for anyone to re- register and it's legal.

Now this is quite easy and anybody with the right information and tools can do it and have a wonderful result. This is from my personal experience and not a hear say. Now this is richly profitable but just like any other business it has some basic strategies and ways to do it in order to get decent result.

Questions and enquiries are welcomed.

Hello I'm new and still reading but I want to ask

How do I create a non existing domain
