*5 times Chelsea stole United players*

With Alvaro Morata seemingly closer to Old Trafford, there are rumours and fears that Chelsea could step in and poach an almost-United player. Again

*Eden Hazard*

Before joining Chelsea from Lille in 2012, Hazard had a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson, desperate to bring the Belgian to Old Trafford. Then Roman Abramovich got involved.

''I spoke with Abramovich, he's very simple and loves football. There was a struggle between Chelsea and United, but to me Chelsea has the best project.''

*Arjen Robben*

The Dutch winger agreed to move from PSV to United back in 2004. Robben and his father were shown around Old Trafford. They were given assurances about the number of games he'd play. Until.

''My meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson went very well and I was ready to sign. But I was convinced by Ranieri and Kenyon – they told me the whole Chelsea story and it appealed to me. I wasn't disappointed to miss out on United as in football things happen very fast.''

*Pedro*

It was the point at which many United fans gave up on Ed Woodward. In August 2015, he flew out to Barcelona to complete a deal for Pedro. United supporters excitedly awaited the World Cup winner.

He never arrived. Again, Chelsea swooped in, disrupting the deal. Pedro's agent claimed United "fell asleep" during negotiations, and Pedro himself confirmed as much at his farewell press conference."I had offers from other English clubs - United, City, but Chelsea were the club that more rapidly resolved my transfer and the one that showed more interest in me."

*Didier Drogba*

For United fans, Drogba is perhaps the most surprising - and most heartbreaking - of all the names on this list, purely because of the difference he would have made to their side in the mid 00s.

''We went to check him out at Marseille, but the club wanted £25million and Chelsea moved in for the kill before we had made up our minds,'' wrote Sir Alex Fergusson.

*John Obi Mikel*

The most infamous case of Chelsea nabbing a United player; Mikel did not only agree to join The Red Devils - he actually signed a contract. Back in a time the Nigerian was one of Europe's hottest properties; United agreed a £4m deal with Norwegian club Lyn to sign the 19 year-old midfielder. They even held a press conference.

Some time later - after a very messy, drawn out process than involved a High Court claim - Chelsea paid £12m to their domestic rivals, plus the original £4m to Lyn to have the player.

He's a Muslim. you should understand his plight, seeing as radicals are making nonsense of his religion.

Sincerely, i understand his, and the plight of other Muslims who have to deal with being construed as terrorists because of few elements who do not entirely define the religion. Its like being black in America.

That being said, being a Muslim does not excuse aggressive uncouth comments, if anything, his aggression promotes the rhetoric about Islam.

@DanielSantanna_ - "Passionate, fierce, driven. Herrera leaves it all on the pitch and clearly loves the club back... what's not to love about him?"

@KurtAich - "His raw grit, fierce no-nonsense passion and being firmly grounded has made him a standout player that we can rely on. A true Red."

@IamJasonHope
 - "He just 'gets' United!"

@StripesofPower
 - "For me, he's a man who represents the 'new' United. He's young and knows what the club means to the fans. All heart and determination."

@JoeDoyle_"Great passing, great movement and work-rate. Exactly what you want from a box-to-box midfielder!"

@ManUtdFinland
 - "Herrera understands the club like no foreign player since Patrice Evra. He conducts himself impeccably, says the right things in interviews and always gives 100 per cent."

@DoctorPerna - "Intelligence, passion, charisma and intensity. He seems to love the club as much as we do, he has a great smile. Plus, there's his bromance with Juan and Dave."

@Playtheonetwo - "Herrera is football mad. He gives 100 per cent every time and sets high standards for himself. He adapts to the manager/team's needs and can play a through ball."

@Anirbaan0307
 - "The way he defends the shirt. He's loved by the fans, and I also love the fact that he's a student of the game and so quickly learned about the club's history, similar to Uncle Pat."

@Utdrantcast - "He's a superb all-round midfielder who seems to love being at United. He has the edge the team needs - plus, he seems lovely!"

@Dizzydianajo1 - "There are so many reasons to love Ander. We all know the story of why he sent Mkhitaryan into the box during the Europa League final; he thinks outside the box. Excellent leadership."

@Omare2101 - "He's a very clever player with exquisite technique. Mourinho trusted him and gave him time on the pitch to show what he was capable of."

@TheEwingClan - "You'd honestly think he grew up a United fan! Also, he's extremely unselfish in the way he plays."

@Suha_MUFC - "His fighter attitude and burning passion for United, along with giving his all in every game he plays, makes Ander very easy to adore!"

@_TheUnknownGuy - "I love those little passes, through balls, interceptions, tackles and, of course, the celebrations!"

@2bobforreal - "The passion he shows each and every week is simply amazing. Even when he's not involved, he's kicking every ball!"

@MikeyP_3108 - "Ander is Mr. United! Everything he does is in the United way. He's a great player who's great with the fans - a great inspiration."

@Alenezik - "He's smart, quick and technically gifted. However, I most admire his leadership skills, which you can see in the big games. Captain material!"

@Slxmdunc - "He joined United and immediately understood what the club stood for, as well as its history. He lives and breathes United and won't take no for answer. I'll always love him."

@Haziqzargar1
- "Passion, intensity and dedication. He fights for every ball and never gives up. The fact he riles up opponents is a major plus, too!"

@Zongsong- "He encapsulates my expectation of an all-rounder. Pacy, committed, passionate, eye for a pass, hard shot and very, very likeable!"

Well, I'm not as flexible as many people because I don't seem to have middle ground for a lot of things. You're either good or not!

And I don't see any stupid passion from Herrera other than him mouthing off at the officials and screaming at his team mate as if he's some shite when he's just a common hustler who should be decked below for being so stupid and making the build up play monotonously boring.

Some people talked about our boring display under Van gaal but do they stop to think that Herrera was the major reason we were making non-progressive 5 yard passes all over the place because Lawd knows that the likes of Rooney and Carrick don't do that shite despite their sluggishness and Rooney's lack of technique in the midfield. Heck! we saw him repeating the same useless shite in our 2-0 loss against Arsenal. Even Oshea gave us better shite than this. Herrera had better thank God for Pogba in his life.

I don't see what he offers that can't be replaced! It's not about screaming your head off on the pitch that makes you a leader..

I'm just saying the truth as it is. I don't see what he offers that can't be replaced. I would rather have a quality player in the CDM role. He should concentrate being a good no 8/box-box or scram. And screaming off one's head isn't a leadership quality.

We all know he can be replaced based on quality but we won't agree b'cos he's a fans favourite!! You might see a player who's just screaming on the pitch but i see a true red devil, someone who has the club at heart, always trying so hard to produce his best performance for the team..... i don't watch all united games but from the amount i've watched, Herrera has proven his loyalty!!!!... It's kinda funny that we're getting such loyalty from a spanish player, i hope he wears the armband next season smiley

Kindly give up the hate, Bro. smiley

I already stated the reason I dislike him. Because he's so manipulative like many spanish players out there. Can give'em but can't take it to save his life and would roll like sack of shite on the ground.. The annoying part is seeing him mouthing off at the referee when he's in the wrong. I can't just accept such behaviour even if he was my blood.

And there's nothing like him being loyal. Is he not the same player who acted treacherous towards the Bilbao fans? Abegi! He knows he's no better than Gomes if he Bleep off to Barca. I wouldn't be surprised if it is his agent stirring up shite to make us cough up huge dough for him even when he aint that. Those spanish players are kind of sleazy, I don't trust most of them.

Nah.... ronaldo is not trolling....ronaldo is just trying to put pressure on the spanish authorities to chill on his cash flow at the same time letting real know that they may need to step up and pay a part of any fines he may get from this legal drama based on what he has done for the clubs coffers and name!

It's like you really don't know how crazy this trolling has driven some united fans. Go red Cafe go see fans wey dey get high BP and sleepless night over a 32 year old. They don't even care he is getting old, they just want him back. All this using united to settle personal or club problems elsewhere is just not cool. Players and the press have turned us to contact negotiation tactics for players and now we are being used to solve tax issues wey we nor hear of till wind blow fowl yanch. Anyway he should just know that he either ends in career in Spain or forget about returning to England after this summer because twice beaten, hundred times shy. I am sure PSG will pay for him well into his late 30's. We won't do a one season approach again.

Herrera has successfully won the hearts of ManUtd fans (except one guy) but that doesn't change the fact that Veratti will still bench him.... Btw, there are up to 60 games to play so he'll get his time..
