O boi u no lie o! these guys are cool-headed but very sharp/bright. This is what NL should be.
Honestly, sanity would fully return to the forum the moment these other guys access certain threads. They only understand certain words and rather than engage you intellectually, you would see, Afonja, Zoo and several other derogatory remarks from them.

They hate themselves and others neck-deep and expect others to love and pamper them in return. Interestingly, I was born and bred in Lagos, studied at the very heart of Yoruba origin and I would clearly whip up healthy sentiments towards the Yorubas as a people. The craze clown folks eventually turned me into the tribalist I dreaded now they claim I hate them.

You won't see them hear because the thread is riddled with intellectual discourse. Sadly, they are allergic to it.

kudos to you guys for the nyc discuss.

A Yoruba nation has to have a separation from religion. to promote and protect our culture.
Cultural public holidays
Mandatory Parliament proceedings in yoruba sometimes.
yoruba language compulsory along side English.
Lagos should never be capital.
Any Minorities joining should have their state
Kogi west(state) for the okun people
Oyo needs to be broken down, its to Big imho

I believe greatly in DAWN. but I kinda don't like dat oduduwa Republic name.
we can do better

Your story of the people you met in Brazil spoke to me.
I tell you, I was greatly moved. It took a great deal of self-control to hold back tears. Their thirst for knowledge about the culture is deep and genuine. And they truly want to look up to us to help guide them in their journey.

9jakool:

The funny thing is while these people are yearning hard to claim their Yoruba/African ancestry that was robbed from them, some of our own people are knowingly throwing away their identity.
Indeed. But make no mistakes. Our connection across the Atlantic will be repaired. It is only a matter of time. But first, there must be a cultural revolution within the core Yoruba enclave of SW Nigeria. And you shouldn't be surprised when I say that these Yorubas in South America, Carribean and West Indies are gonna play a major role in this revolution.

That's why you see me come hard on some Yoruba Muslims here. As you can see, you won't find them (those ones that lick Hausa Fulani assessment) on a pro Yoruba interest thread like this, but they're always the first, second, third commenters on every pro Nigeria thread, Pro Hausa Fulani one Nigeria thread, anti biafraaaaud thread. They've made themselves advisers to biafrauudians on how to play Nigerian politics. They lick Buhari's hairy assess. I don't know why most Yorubas don't think. Do you know how much it hurts me that HAusa Fulani controls our port? Something that should be manned by Yorubas, same way anything petroleum is manned by a Niger deltan and anything Abuja related is manned by Hausa Fulani. yet we go about supporting this impunity and shouting on top of our voice advocating for one Nigeria that only seeks to empower the Hausa Fulani.

Look at the way they've planted themselves everywhere. They control the military apparatus. While their loyal and docile slaves in person if some Yoruba don't know more than to blow grammar, wear shirts and tie, and start gracing every thread to oppose Yoruba standalone and supporting the Fulani oligarchy. Even sai baba people don't go to this length to defend him. May be because they know they've some loyal, low self esteem, docile Yoruba slaves as foot soldiers. All they need do is deceive them with religion affiliation and brotherhood. Yet the supposedly sophisticated and educated Yoruba have refused to wake up and smell the coffee.

One even called me a pdp loser. Me that supported APC during the campaign. my friends knew as a pro apc. I even donated to apc campaign. I started losing it when Fulani herdsmen started invading Yoruba lands and killing our people. Yet presidency kept quiet and said they were from Mali.

Six months to appoint ministers and so many more clueless moves that vegetable had made. Yes, Gej is ckuess but vegable president has taken it to another level. He's not only incompetent but daft, tribalistic and favors only his kits and kittens...

Bro, it is very annoying. This is why you see me attack these eeeddiots every time. When you insult them, they will say you are not Yoruba. I have never met a foolish, crazy, useless set people like these idiots. They irritate me to the bone!!!
If the Igbos want to go, how is that their business? They will never comment of this thread. Never! But when they see any Biafra thread, they jump on it and start their "one Nigeria" slogan. Yet the Fulanis control their ports. These fools will never talk of how we can collect our right back from them. They will never talk about the future of Yoruba land and its people. They will ignore.
As for the Fulanis controlling our ports. I cant tell you how annoyed i am. I just dont know what to say. I am speechless.
I heard that Fulanis have been controlling this port for over 20 years.
I will always insult these bastards that insult the Igbos for wanting out.

I wouldn't have said it better. Truth is, you would find thread as this with more intellectual contents than insults as opposed to the other people. The Itsekiris, though have their origin deeply rooted in the South West, do not share cultural similarities with the Yorubas. The guys here are intelligent, believe me.
The bolded is a myth which is long regarded that the Itsekiri's culture is Bini and the only thing they share with Yorubas is language. While Itsekiri's culture does have plenty of Bini's influence, it would be incorrect to say that there is no element of proto-Yoruba cultural traits among the Itsekiris. For example there is a lot of similarities between the religion (ebora tsitse), social structure, naming of twins and ifa(ife). There are even Itsekiri communities that claim direct descendant to Yoruba subgroups. Many of these communities predate the arrival of Ginuwa.
The Itsekiri consider the Ilajes, a Yoruba subgroup to be the closest to them even more so than Edos. The umale festival for example is a spectacle only found among the Ilaje and Itsekiri.

I just want to highlight the facts. Anyways, Itsekiris have long claim their distinctness from Yorubas and reinforce their tie to Edos, so they would rather form a union with them I'm guessing.

Interesting. Are you saying the fear of war is preventing you from EVEN having a discussion about separation?

Also, have you considered this: what if Nigeria's Balkanization is inevitable? Then, you are no better than the man who fails to prepare for an impending storm.

1) i feel Lagos is too Dense and over populated, yes dere are nations like dat, but i feel our capital should be well designed from the ground up with solid infrastructure and human development. a FCT from the present Osun state could work.

2) Texas got years ahead of us, we need to create a sense of governance in all nooks and crannies quickly, so a smaller state could be better for oyo.

now our form of government need to be explicitly stated, i for one don't support Parliamentary, a true federal nation is better.

I agree that Southern Unity will minimize the likelihood for conflict with the North. But, this idea that Northerners are any less separatists is a myth. There are thousands of Mohammed Yusufs (the non-militant founder of Boko Haram) in Northern Nigeria. I am talking of Muslim leaders who desire a Muslim ONLY country. The Arewa Youth that gave ultimatum to Igbos are also sick and tired of one Nigeria.
