Computer science seemingly has more calculations for those who think that chemical engineering is all about chemistry and chemicals.
Every single course in chemical has calculations. Difficult ones at that. By the time u start a solution by guessing two parameters and after spending 30mins in calculations and it doesn't converge, u will come back and guess again that's wen u will prefer packing ur lot with computer science

You must have studied Chemical Eng. Cos only people that are inside know what it truly entails.

Chemical is more like using chemistry/chemical terms to solve mathematics.

I'm a Chemical Enginering u'grad(4th year) and I am also exposed to the computer science and stuff cos I do lots of coding.

I would say(without being bias) that all engineering degrees have way too much maths compared to computer science(and if you with the motin that CompSci is "CompSci and maths", just waka past).

Engineering degrees even go up to the extent of applying coding and other CompSci techniques to solve problems, but CompSci knows nothing about us.
In my degree program I have used coding(esp python and the Scipy,Numpy, Matplotlib amongst others) to solve problems in most of my classes as the maths involved are getting way too complex to solve by hand. I've used Neural networks and many other tools that should belong to CompSci too...

I don't know where those people that say CompSci has more maths are coming from....

Computer science in Nigeria is 95% mathematics,logic gates, Boolean Algebra, 4% programming in 1962 languages such as cobol, pascal, fortran etc and 1% of history, types and uses of computers

Wheni was in polythecnic our exam question was way harder than university exam question

Lol I just graduated from chemical engineering OAU., CHE303 transport phenomenon over 100 formulars che 301 mass transfer over 80 fromulars and che 405 hear transfer over 70 formulas
All this 3 courses are just a section in chemical engineering and I did over 78 courses
I won't say chemical engineering is the hardest but in terms of formulas hmmmm

WC set.All those courses na die.d one I fear most na CHE 303 and chemical engineering analysis(taken by sonibare n osunleke)

Who told u that? Am actually a computer science student nd I can tell u that the calculation involve in Com Science is far bigger than the scope of binary conversion. I hv faced calculus, differentiation nd integrations, matrix of all kind. in fact, we do virtually 75% of same courses with Maths&Statistics student

Don't mind him talking trash am also a computer science student we did calculations a lot

A chemical engineer is one who learns so much chemistry to confuse the Mechanical engineer, so much physics to confuse the Chemist, and so much mathematics to confuse himself.

Oh OK, that futo okpara was my supervisor, mehn that guy strict. I almost cried when l heard the sad news of the death of the other okpara.

bros our set, nobody cried pim. we enjoyed our ride to IMO, joking and cracking jokes, and as we were coming back boys bought wine, the bus was full of merriment. As I said before no be we kill am but the man needed to leave the way so that some people can be free.

What you guys don't understand is that chemical engineers also do programming and codes, and apply all these to complex calculations. A chemical engineer could be more comfortable in a computer science class but a computer scientist would fly out through the window in a process dynamics lecture.

bro am not disputing the fact that chemical engineering students too deals with mathematics but from my own point of view and experience the major problems we face as a Csc student is from math and don't forget computer student deals with most programming that brings about almost what we use nowadays in the technology world and this starts from dealing with MATHEMATICS. .. Alot of the spillnoverbstudent we had back then during my set was as a result of mathematics we borrowed. So crazy

Who calculation help? Calculations is not our concern in engineering.Our concern is to use our analytical skills (calculations inclusive )to the benefit of human race.That is why we are professionals.

I think is chemical engineering, it deal with lot of calculation because almost everything in it is calculation, size, amount of quantity, width, height, of an object to be constructed, etc

Bro, i did my post graduate in process engineering b4 u were born! Go meet ur lecturers and let them school u properly!

Very inscrutable and age long problems of chemical engineering are been resolved by IT and latest software applications
