lionlee216:This quoted statement is not true. There have been no changes to US immigration policy since the recent terrorist attacks. Please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html for the most up to date information about US visa policy. For Nigeria specific visa policy information please visit www.ng.usembassy.gov/visas. lionlee216:This is the bottom line. We are required by law to attempt to ascertain whether or not each applicant for a student visa is actually intending to be a student. We are continually looking at the outcomes of the visas we do issue to try to do a better job of facilitating legitimate student travel and excluding applicants who are not legitimate students. Hi boss! Please i need you to tutor mi on the processes in involved in the whole journey of schooling aboard. My brother just got his F1 form today. He then called mi to ask for his visa fee (64k). On the form the earliest admission date is 10th of December. And the earliest interview date we can get from the embassy now is 20th if not beyond. Please, i would like to confirm if we should go ahead for the visa fee payment. Thanks |

Hello gurus,I need help I applied to 2 schools for spring 2018, I am yet to receive a decision on 1 of my applications (the school i prefer). I have been offered an admission by the other school and even received my form i-20. With available appointment dates fast running out here are my questions 1) Can I book an appointment before submitting my DS-160 (incase i get an offer from the other school, so I may edit the information to suit my new program )? 2) I am to indicate my SEVIS ID when booking the appointment, can I edit it after booking the appointment (If i get an offer from the other school) and if not, will it matter if the SEVIS ID i used to book the appointment is different from the information in your database? 3) Generally I wish to be advised on what to do in a situation like this i.e appointment availability running out and delayed admission decision. Thank you. |

folmus:This summed up everything everyone has been saying here. An agent has just one task, to make profit even if one has to do things contrary to the norms. The agent that gave the guy a high hope knows that after one obtained BS (not even MS), U.S embassy don't like to see people coming with certificate or pathway courses. The agent is only after a quick pay. |

djfrancis:Yes sir. You can start searching for schools right now for fall 2018. Some grad programs will close their admission for fall 2018 in Dec 2017. Some last till March 2018. |

I booked the visa appointment without submitting my DS 160 because I hadn't received my I20 form. What you need while booking the appointment is the application ID of your DS 160 as it's also the same as the confirmation number. you need to note down your application ID and security questions as they will be required for you to retrieve your DS 160 application. So if you indeed get the other offer, you can edit it and submit. Meanwhile, I'm not sure you can edit after submitting your visa appointment application as the Sevis ID must tally with the information in their database. So I'd advice you go ahead and book your appointment as time is running out. righturn: |

@Lagosismyhome, the school didn't reply after sending them mail that I want refund for my enrollment deposit.. I actually dunno what to do because that $500 is not a chicken change.. I really need suggestions on how to go about getting back my money since the school actually failed to enroll me for Spring 2018 that I made enrollment deposit for.. Do universities in USA always act in such manners to prospective international students? |
