Bro you too gbaski my God Almighty bless you for me. i also want to thank all the gurus on these thread especially the Mama and Baba you know your self.. May God bless you all and also those who made out time and share their transcripts and also help others God Bless you too.

My interview was for 6:30am, i arrived at the embassy at 5:30am, i was interview by that slim beautiful lady they normally talk about here, she did my Bio-metric and also interview me. from the moment i step in the embassy i started smiling to everyone including her not knowing she will be the one to interview me but i actually didn"t want her to interview me because of what have heard so far about her, that she normally drain people with questions. I was the 3rd person she interview, the first guy she interviewed was denied and then the second person was one of those sister's from catholic church, she almost denied her but she was able to explain her self well and she was approved and then Meeeeee

My Transcript goes this way...

VO: What are you going to study in the Us

Me: Am going to ETSU to pursue a bachelor degree in Business administration and Management for the period of 48 months which i will taking courses in.. she cuts in Okay..okay and started typing

VO: Why are you just going for your Bachelor degree now

Me: Both of them

VO: So why did you choose ESTU

Me: Montana State University offered me Marketing Marketing Management..VO cuts in again is the same thing

Me: i became confuse and said one rubbish thing about marketing which i can't remember and later continue with that is not my choice of course But ETSU offered me Business Management which is what i wanted. i guess she was not satisfy with that but she just let that go (that was favour)

VO: typed for some seconds.. Did you take any exam like SAT, Tofel or IELTS

ME: No, i made an inquiry from the school about proficiency exam and it was waived because our official language in Nigeria is English

VO: she nods her head and started typing again

VO: when did you finish your secondary school

Me: 2009

VO: so what have you been doing since then

Me: After my high school in 2009, i did a 2 years course in event planing and after that i got my diploma in hotel management in 2014 and in 2015 i did one year IT at Southersun Ikoyi Hotel. i wanted to link up what i do at work to that answer but i noticed she started typing again so i kept quiet

Vo: What do you do at your place of work

Me: I work as an assistant event coordinator, my job is to meet with guest and take reservation for functions and also discuss the kind of set they want for their event such as Banquet setup, theater set up and class room set up. I always speak very fast while am talking so she ask me to repeat again what i do at work which i did.

VO: what will you do with these degree

Me: this degree will help me achieve my dream goal of becoming a Manager in a standard hotel and also set up my own business as an enterprenural after completing my Bsc and Masters

VO: Have you traveled out before

Me: No ma'am

VO: Do you have any friend in the Us or any family

Me: No

VO: are you sure

Me: Yes, but i was so scared because i applied for visiting in 2008 which i was denied but i didn't apply again since then, so i was thinking she as seen something fishy in my old DS form cos i was invited by a friend then.

VO: Do you have any siblings

Me: Yes, i have 2 elder sisters

VO: Do they school here in Nigeria

Me: Yes

VO: What school

Me: My eldest sister school in University of Ibadan while my immediate elder sister school in Unilag

Now the last question to approve my visa was where i saw how Grace and favour works, devil bin won try him power but God say No no no.. leave him alone

VO: who will be paying for your studies

Me: My Dad

VO: What does he do

Me: i went blank, i couldn't remember what my dad does, i was lost for words for like 35 seconds, she was just looking at me to say something, me i was just struggling to say but i couldn't, she noticed that and she said don"t worry take your time, settle down but yet i couldn't say a word, i was just smiling shaking my head, after some seconds she moved her head closer to the window glass and said relax, take your time we are just having a conversation with an elegant smile on her face while she was saying that.. before you know it i just pick up like motor wey dem dey push

Me: My Dad is into real estate business and he also import ties from Spain (although i starmara a little bit)

VO: I will be approving your visa, pick it up in 3 days time, she pick up the white paper and circle a place there, gave it to me with my i20 and said i should keep my i20 safe as will be required at the Port entry. Na so i collect my visa ooo No singles document was asked.

My transcript seems long here but it"s actually less than 4 mins with Vo because she speaks very fast and i also respond very fast as well.
Please did you lodge in any hotel close to Obalende? I will be needing an hotel where I can lodge for my forthcoming interview.

...Immigration policy are starting to get more strict with the recent terrorist attacks in NY.

This quoted statement is not true. There have been no changes to US immigration policy since the recent terrorist attacks. Please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html for the most up to date information about US visa policy. For Nigeria specific visa policy information please visit www.ng.usembassy.gov/visas.

You should be able to convince the VO that you are genuine and if the VO aint convinced, then you might want to focus your search on another country.

This is the bottom line. We are required by law to attempt to ascertain whether or not each applicant for a student visa is actually intending to be a student. We are continually looking at the outcomes of the visas we do issue to try to do a better job of facilitating legitimate student travel and excluding applicants who are not legitimate students.

YOUR SITUATION DOES NOT MATCH THE PATHWAYS PROGRAM. AS FOR A GRADUATE CERTIFICATE, IT DEPENDS ON THE COURSE OF STUDY AND YOUR CAREER GOALS. HOWEVER, I THOUGHT THAT F1s ARE ISSUED FOR DEGREE-SEEKING PROGRAMS ONLY.

You don't need to always type in all CAPS

Hello gurus,I need help

I applied to 2 schools for spring 2018, I am yet to receive a decision on 1 of my applications (the school i prefer). I have been offered an admission by the other school and even received my form i-20. With available appointment dates fast running out here are my questions

1) Can I book an appointment before submitting my DS-160 (incase i get an offer from the other school, so I may edit the information to suit my new program )?
2) I am to indicate my SEVIS ID when booking the appointment, can I edit it after booking the appointment (If i get an offer from the other school) and if not, will it matter if the SEVIS ID i used to book the appointment is different from the information in your database?
3) Generally I wish to be advised on what to do in a situation like this i.e appointment availability running out and delayed admission decision.

Thank you.

The dog that will miss road will not listen to the whistle of the hunter. You've proven to be an iconoclast despite your education which is meant to broaden your mindset. Is pathway or certificate the same as B.sc or masters as alluded? You will have difficulty getting your student visa which is the summary. But if that agent has advised you to go ahead, continue. But share your transcript later for others to learn. grin

This summed up everything everyone has been saying here. An agent has just one task, to make profit even if one has to do things contrary to the norms. The agent that gave the guy a high hope knows that after one obtained BS (not even MS), U.S embassy don't like to see people coming with certificate or pathway courses. The agent is only after a quick pay.

As much as it's a core part of the healthcare system, obviously, it's not as demanded as others listed above. It's a good course and good for those in management.

I booked the visa appointment without submitting my DS 160 because I hadn't received my I20 form. What you need while booking the appointment is the application ID of your DS 160 as it's also the same as the confirmation number. you need to note down your application ID and security questions as they will be required for you to retrieve your DS 160 application. So if you indeed get the other offer, you can edit it and submit. Meanwhile, I'm not sure you can edit after submitting your visa appointment application as the Sevis ID must tally with the information in their database. So I'd advice you go ahead and book your appointment as time is running out.
