aribisala0:Igbos come from so many places. The Aros come partly from Ibibio; the Olu come from Igalla. They are all branches of one Great Tree. Lucumi ancestors left the Nri area for Ile Ife. These became the Obatala aborigines of the place. I will post a link to a book that explains it all. 1 Like 1 Share |

aribisala0:However you slice it or dice it, the fact remains that the Aro are of Igbo-Ibibio origin. This has brought the Igbos and Ibibios closer. We wish the same with other Nigerian tribes that share historical interactions with us, including the Yoruba. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Amarabae: You almost stumbled to the truth but fooled with the idea of a name from imaginary Ezechime and Benin crap. If you know the meaning of Icha in Igbo you would have arrived at the true conclusion. Obu and Obi are relatively the same meaning. |

IditaBoy:Igbos always move into the forest during war. In Moremi's time we did. During the Nigerian civil war, we did, and discovered some new vegitables we use for Igbo soups today. So tribes associate us with the farm, the bush and the forest, so much so that some ethnic groups resorted to calling the bush itself Igbo/Ugbo. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bro stop displaying your ignorance in public. It is an established facts that some Igbos (mainly of Anambra origin) have problems with differentiating 'r' from 'l' and 'sh' from 'ch'. Go and investigate. Furthermore, if you know your English grammar well, you would have known that 'tsh' sounds like 'ch' and not 'sh'. Are you also aware that Anioma you mentioned above is an Igbo name? aribisala0: 1 Like |

Please who knows where the Olukumis are based today? I learnt that they still speak some sort of Yoruba dialect. They're also known as Lucumi in the International sphere. I read a story about the ones taken into slavery in South America. One particular woman was said to be a great leader who sadly didn't end well. |

Without trying to delve into today's controversy, for a long time those who called themselves "real" Igbo from Oweri area, have always labelled Igbo from Onitsha: Yoruba/Igbo. You cannot deny that. delpee: 1 Like |

Why does everything turn to Azikiwe rejection as Western Premier? STOP! Not every Yoruba could have been Premier of Western Region. In those days, Tinubu could not have been elected a dog catcher. Please stop. Obiobidgbo14: 1 Like |
