I think the problem most people have with tithing is that they actually think that when they tithe they are enriching pastors and are left with nothing substantial for themselves. "bring all the tithes into the store house that there may be 'meat' in my house". what does 'meat' signify? quite a number of things. one of which is Abundance. why do you put meat in your stew or soup? because you have the money to. some people even go as far as including fish, kpomo, liver, gizzard, and the likes. the veil in the temple being torn from top to bottom signifies that we all have access to the throne of the father. it breached that bridge between the priest and the believer. well, confessing your sins to your priest may not be wrong in a sense because some persons feel they are not qualified to go before God's presence. however, because of Christ's death and for the fact that he died for everybody, you can go to this throne and ask for mercy. this is the privilege his death brought to us!

1) Who told you we are not supposed to "Follow man"? where did you get that idea from? Did God not command the children of Israel to follow Moses? Did God not command them to follow Joshua after Moses died?

Have you read 1Corinthians 11:1 where Apostle Paul himself wrote and said "Be ye followers of me as I follow Christ"? Go and read it for yourself before you come here and be quoting lies in the name of quoting bible you don't know. We are supposed to follow men who are examples of following Christ. The only thing God said is that we shouldn't worship any man even if we follow them and submit to them.

2) The fact that we pay tithes does not mean we don't like to help the poor. Nothing stops us from paying tithes and still helping the poor, but on a priority scale, God comes first, so we will pay our tithes first before helping the poor from what is remaining after paying tithe. As a matter of fact, I personally have sent money to at least about 10people I know within the past 2 weeks to help them financially, yet that has not stopped me from paying tithe.

Go and read Matthew 23:23 and see what Jesus said about tithes there. If a whole Jesus, the one on whom the new testament is built said that "men ought to pay tithes without neglecting mercy, justice and faith", then who are you to tell us that tithe is not relevant in the new testament? Are you more righteous or wiser than Jesus himself? If you are wiser than Jesus, then prove it to us so we can come and start worshipping you too!
