I just noticed that most stocks that recently posted bad results did not fall. Take larfage for instance, with the heavy loss, it still closed in green today.
I hope they give my diamond same treatment oh, may the market not punish our bad result oh.

Should this fly? I need the opinion of tax experts in the house. Signs that these guys are desperate.

I still believe that GSK shareholders that were denied the special dividend can sue the coy for damages. They sold part of the business last year and kept the proceeds in the bank only to wake up this year to share it out.

Good evening house, can I get suggestion on stocks to buy now for future good returns.
I am not in haste for good returns, but looking at 2 or 3 years down the line.
Thanks.

Bank stocks seems to be the best because it is the most regulated sector. Any issue in this sector, will affect the economy of the country and cause a serious bank run.

That is why that is the main sector my eyes goes to for my mattresses and pillows.

Sir Pluto pls do try to understand the basis of my post.
While I am not trying to be overtly optimistic about the future, I also refuse to be unduly pessimistic.
For while no one can accurately predict the future, we can at least weigh into it on the back of clearly ad judged facts.
...and if we do just that (at least from a result perspective), then we wouldn't presume that DF can never grow their earnings going forward.
...then we wouldn't use phrases like 'NEVER POSSIBLE' as did Sir Wanajo.
But then again, It could be that he was merely airing his opinion, and of course I respect that.

To answer ur question proper;
On DS, I'd say Probably.
Logically, if they can keep up with the many input from their backward integration master plan, then I see a clear possibility.
...otherwise, I'll give it a probability of at least 1/2.
On DS, I'd say a YES.
...and I've given my clear reasons for this in several of my past post here.

In all, I have said that the future is here, but I think it would be best if we allowed Mr TIME to set matters straight in due course.
...'let's all make friends with Mr TIME'.

Cheers Sir !!

Let look at the figures once again so that we can argue to gain something.

We start with DF;

Turnover in 2017 is 125b and 105b in 2016, that is about 20% increase.

Gross profit in 2017 is 29.3b and in 2016 ,it is also 29.3b, that is 0% increase.

Operating profit in 2017 is 18.5b and in 2016,18.9b,zero % increase.

PAT in 2017 is 15.1b while it is 10.5b in 2016, about 50% increase.

Now, if we discount the gain on sale of asset and finance income in the 2017 report, the PAT would have been less than that of 2016.

Then, looking at the result q/q, we will see a slow down in the last quarter which naturally should be the strongest.

Turnover for the whole year is 125b but the company only recorded a sale of 25b in the last quarter.

Operating profit for 2017 is 18.5b but only 3.2b was made in the last quarter.

PAT for the whole year is 15.1 with the last quarter having just 2b.

I can see a slow down in turnover and PAT q/q and that is why I said it would be difficult to sustain a 50% growth this year.

You can either invest with emotions or with facts/figures.

DF CANNOT sustain a 50% annual growth rate in profit year on year continuously. The Q4 result is already an indication of what is happening.

That is true and that is his business strategy. It has also made him one of the wealthiest men in the World. What can be wrong with that? I dont see any and don't know why people have issues with that. Conventional wisdom says you should play to your strengths...it will be much more beneficial to you than trying to overcome your weaknesses.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with that. However, the information is useful for an investor. It will guide me in formulating my strategy for any investment made in an Alhaji company.
