Deltayankeeboi:despite having doctors in ur family, you still sound illitrate. So all a doctor needs to accomplish in life is to build a private hospital that will only reign for a few years and marry abi? career fufillment cannot come from practicing in nigeria, unless you treat the wealthy Dont worry, when you have something as simple as appendicitis, you can walk to the consultant pharmacist to treat you. Good day 1 Like |

ahiboilandgas: We'll gladly pay the bond of 15years and do rubbish, by the time we kill enough patients, nobody will tell them to let us go. Remember what happened to Pharaoh? We'll intentionally kill you all so that you'll free us by force. You think to work in Nigeria is by force? Rubbish! |

authority2006: The unfortunate mistake you guys make everyday....a real pity. If only you know what's going on in Nigerian Medical Schools nowadays, you'll shake your head for the country's health sector. There's a reason why Doctors matter cos there are 3 basic things veey crucial in every society: Food, Shelter and Health. Unfortunately Nigeria continues to deride and mock it's Health sector because it believes it has more than enough. Do you know what happens to a man who wastes his resources because he believes he'll always have more than enough? In 2011 when I graduated, I had no intention of leaving the country, I saw my colleague preparing for the US exams then during my Internship and I just took him for an overambitious fellow, now the guy rides the latest model of a Toyota Cary every year while I'm still busy cursing my leggedis Benz....He didn't even bother to serve or do NYSC, he he just gathered money from his internship and off he went. Now most of this exams are even being written by 200 Level and 300 Level students, hence once they finish, they'll not even do Internship sef and also zoom off. What does that make Nigeria? It makes us just like Arsenal Football Club where doctors are trained for other serious countries to scoop up. Medical Tourism will in the end continue. Nevertheless I know you'll think I'm trying to get you scared to make you cower into treating us right. Funny enough Nigeria has d worst doctor:patient yet you said we still have more around, despite the ones remaining about to leave. No need jarey, you're right and I'm wrong. 1 Like 1 Share |

MrBigiman:Good idea. Not just doctors but other health workers too. They have something similar in Canada. If you want your student loan ($100,000-$500000) forgiven as a doctor or nurse, you would be required to move up North in remote locations and serve for a number of years. They are made to pay heavy penalty when they break the bond. I read some months ago that the UK is trying to implement a similar scheme to orevent their doctors from moving to Australia and New Zealand. This would eventually reduce the NHS's recruitment drive for overseas trained docs and nurses. Funny thing is that alot of Canadian doctors and Nurses are running to the US too for a better pay. |

peacengine:Your humanitarian doctors are being paid higher than the doctors in their home countries, with full life insurance and other benefits. I am sure you will cooperate more with the 'humanitarian doctors' because by then they will be the one stating their terms and conditions of service 2 Likes |

sexylips6186: Can you give me the name of the drug the Reg prescribed pls? Nigerians, always eager and on the lookout to ridicule their doctors just so as to confirm to the society they're not so special afterall and they deserve equal salary with them. For them to focus on their work na wahala, instead na to they point out doctor fault to slander them in public na hin be their life purpose. If I should start mentioning atrocities pharmacists have committed, this nairaland no go fit contain am, but I'm way above such puerile frivolities, afterall it's only a tree with a fruit that people throw sticks at and it's only people who're up some ppl desire to see down. Ridiculing you will be of no benefit to my profession, you guys have nothing to lose anyway, seeing y'all already a joke. 1 Like |

yemmy75:But almost all professionals are underpaid in Nigeria bruv. Lol Do you know the starting wage (i.e recruit) for alot of policemen in developed countries is around 1.5million a month? Compare that to the starting wage of N10,000 per month that a recruit earns in naija, despite facing bullets from daredevil robbers. My point is that let JOHESU demand for whatever they want, doctors should demand theirs too. At the end of the day, their salary would never be as high as that of a doc. 1 Like |

mediclife1987: One beast killed my neighbor by prescribing an anti pychotic which causes cardiac arrest in elderly people. The idiot will not consult a pharmacist to be sure but recommended the drug which her family purchased, after giving the drug the woman died few days later from respiratory distress syndrom which is one of the effects in elderly folks. I can't wait for all of you to migrate. Go on, and leave us, we have higher chance of surviving without you killers 1 Like |

This was entertaining. The concept of straight up debate with points has flown over the heads of most of you. Some people make attempts at having a discourse while others only know hate and insults. It would be entertaining to have a discourse about this issue. Doctors and health workers. The way forward. Not an argument but a debate with links to facts. That way it would be easier to make the nairaland populace see who's right or wrong. Maybe there is no right or wrong in this situation. 1 Like |

peacengine: We too can't actually wait to leave the hospital for you guys to take over, no matter how many rubbish you mention here I'll never talk about the atrocities you guys commit, cos it's a prove of our being above you. Pls just give us a little time to pass our exams, we'll gladly leave the hospital's for you to become the head. Infact if the president can just dash each abroad aspiring docs a one-off cheque of #3million and tell us to all vacate the hospitals, we'll happily do that. The time for arguing & bickering is long gone.....so as I said pls just give us time....I know y'all can't wait but I assure you, the time is coming when y'all will be the doctors in the hospitals. I can swear in my life that time will definitely come. So all you just need to do is be patient with us. You can also aid it's speed by trying not to see a beast or idiot sorry doctor next time so they won't goan make the mistake of frying your ovaries mistakenly. Sodiquinone: Oh so you want them to do that one for you again ba? What boys dey use play for 400 Level, na hin una dey take as big deal? I did my Genotype and Blood grouping myself in my 400 Level during Haematology classes and practice. Be cos of your uselessness and slow lackadaisical attitudes, poor Interns have been turned to slaves doing majority of your jobs for you and y'all still shameless enough to demand equal pay. Never mind it's all a matter of time, you guys will have Pharmacists as your Medical Doctors, afterall there's now PharmD now, abi no be so? In sha Allah, both our prayers will be answered... |

So that is why we want to leave for you guys to take over so that we can goan kill them over there and let you people live. It's a simple world. So pls help us beg govt to help us so we can fulfill your heart desires.... |

armadeo:I am looking at the arguments from a neutral point of view since I have both pharm and doc siblings, I am also married to a pharm. All practicing in Canada and the states except for the doc that is yet to get her license to practice, but i do have a close friend whose husband is a practicing doctor. I am just here to correct any wrong information about the practice overseas people try to pass on here as facts. I am enjoying the points being passed by both side except for the insults. |

ceejaynnaji: Typical Nigerian, always eager to rubbish the good and embrace the ugly... I need more of this inspiration to port comot this shithole, 5,240 Niherian trained doctors working in the UK, several others working in the US etc. I guess they just teleported there, or they used ojuju calabria for them at the exam centre and embassy. I love when people try to discourage me, nothing feels better than the hopeless look on their face when you succeed. More of it pls, it will be directly proportional to the shame that'll be registered on your face |

Are you aware over 5000 Nigerian trained doctors are currently practicing in the UK? Are you aware over 500 Nigerians applied for the Plab 1 exams in Nigeria about 2years ago and the number almost doubled (over 800) last year? So you think doctors will write PLAB on their forehead so that you'll be convinced they're writing it ba?
