FALSE RAPE ALLEGATIONS (ON SOCIAL MEDIA) : HOW DO MEN PROTECT THEMSELVES?


I was reading up tweets on Twitter about trending topics like the World Cup and pro-life versus abortionists e-fights last night when I noticed "Berger to Ajah" trending. I assumed it was a road project or something about traffic jam so I paid little attention, at first.

Basically, it's about a female ( @_B_Moree_ who ascribes herself as a feminist) and her friend (@OmogeDami) who accused a guy (@UcheDandyMUFC) of raping @_B_Moree_ in his apartment when she went visiting. Long story short, @UcheDandyMUFC, not only exonerated himself, he proved the supposed rape victim (@_B_Moree_) was a heartbroken female he had a one-night-stand with who wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with him.

Since she couldn't get him to do her bidding and he ignored her 'cause she didn't look a quarter as aesthetically appealing as the pictures she posted on her social media profiles, she went all out to tarnish his image and ruin him, false allegations regardless.

A lot of folks have downplayed the real implications of the false rape allegations, unfairly.

What if UcheDandyMUFC had no chat backlog to prove his innocence? What if he had lost access to that Whatsapp account and no way to screenshot their conversations? He'd have been ruined for life!

The female would have been championed as a 'strong woman' with feminist and women rights groups and apologists giving her media coverage and endorsements. She'd probably have ended up as an ambassador for some brand to support women rights activism.

Maybe @_B_Moree_ played this out in her mind and decided she'd get the double deal when with the false rape allegations: she'd trend and become famous and ruin @UcheDandyMUFC who rejected her advances for more sexual and romantic with him while at it.

It backfired, she's become infamous and is being shamed for it.


When allegations of physical abuse involving both genders are brought to fore, everyone automatically believes the female is the victim and the male the aggressor. Nobody believes him, his plea. Heck! Nobody even listens to him - he's guilty and that's it.

Countless vindictive females use this to their advantage. It's what the #MeToo movement in America has spiraled into.

Countless males have been victims of these false allegations and nobody is standing up for them. Countless men have lost their jobs, family and freedom too with the unproven allegations of these females as the "concrete evidence".

While we have to admit rape is still very much an issue to be tackled, we can't negate the fact the increasingly more women seem to use rape allegations as a weapon to destroy men, even as unfounded as their allegations might be.

These days, all a Miss B needs to destroy a Mr. T is accuse him of rape or sexual molestation. All she needs do is state the time and place their paths crossed and bang! bang! Mr. T's reputation is 'shot dead'.

Many men have listened to women bewilderingly claim they lost their virginity to rapists just to justify why they aren't virgins even when they were willing partners in the sexual romps which led to their deflowering.

How do men protect themselves from false rape accusations when society is prejudiced against men in this regard?

I will even suggest legal action should be taken as a deterrent because this allegations can damage reputation and livelihood as people are quick to judge.

Actually compare and contrast means nothing in this case. I knew guys in school who were serial rapists. Wealth, looks etal do not stop people from being deviants. Today they will be in their 40s.that will not mean they have stopped. Rather that they can get away with more.

For all you know, the girl fits the preferred profile. Plain/poor enough to be disbelieved.

There is also the case that a lot of what legally constitutes rape is termed as 'obtaining'.
