I think having stocks in fundamentally sound companies for the long term is not a bad idea tho, the volatile system we run nonetheless.

Being a speculator is also cool

But i prefer being the former

The problem is whether they will remain fundamentally sound for a long time. Most companies with corporate governance issues today were once 'fundamentally sound ' In nse, longterm should nit be more than 2yrs.

Thank you. It has a great psychological effect. It relieves one of the stress of waiting for the expected gain even when they seem to drift away.

2 to 3 yrs max is long term enough grin grin

Who wants to do 10 years, when inflation and depreciation of the local currency will destroy the value of the portfolio?

Don't think it is a good result. I have not gotten time to study it in details and I will need to compare it with q3 so as to get the q/q details.

The dividend is though in line with my expectations.

NSE INDEX MIGHT HAVE FOUND A BOTTOM cheesy

There is goodnews lurking around Nigerian Stock Exchange. The news is the index might have finally found a bottom. Is the bottom a short-term or long term? That is the needed question to ask. If the price index can create a higher-high (i.e price rally above 39408) in the coming trading days, then I look forward to a long term rally grin; However, if the index struggles to break the swing high at 39408 and declines, that is a confirmation that a short-term bottom is what we have. sad

In all, market sentiment have started to rise with increase in participation by market players. A break below swing low at 37657 could mean further price fall. embarassed

What this means is to start cherry picking stock of interest (especially banking stocks) to invest in and most likely make good profits. Importantly, don't forget to use stop-loss in case the market says otherwise.

Happy Trading Week Ahead

MSCI MOVEMENT IN PORTFLIO FOR 29 JUNE 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT

Selling now reducing by the fund, but general volume in the market still low.

This new month is likely to be better than June as the level of selling by the fund is likely to ebb.

Check on our data integrity still shows we are using the correct data, if you compare the posting for the movement on 28 June (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts) with that of morning star (MSCI Portfolio Movement 28 June 2018). The good thing is that the movement from YOK's post comes earlier about one working day difference.

Using the fund’s portfolio as a guide, “green” mean buying while “red” is selling.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.

PAT at q3 was 13.4b and PAT at full year is 13..6b,indicating that the company did not make profit in q4.
As with other consumer goods companies i .e DS and DF, the quarter January to march was really difficult with a squeeze in margins across board.

I need to see just one more quarterly result of FMN for me to decide on what to do with my holdings here.

Already sold half of FMN and I am completely out of DS and DF.
