cruchenutii:lol do not be scared , I don't do it I'm a practising christian and even though I don't go to church Every other day my church is my conscience that dosent mean many Nigerians aren't guilty of these things and use church as a covering my moms aunt and husband were strong Catholics but when the pangs of childlessness was too much you know, you succumb to the advice of one or two people at the end of the day the child still died at the prime of his life so what was the point of dipping their hands into Satan's things Satan can never give you he will give what he knows he can collect . its not worth it relying on him. |

Many pple who earned over 300k and with plenty assets have left the country. Please i take God beg you, accept the job and move ahead. If you don't, you may regret it for the rest of your life, even after your parents are long gone. If you are young, there's no harm in trying out abroad. You can always come back. But the older you get, the lower your chances of succeeding abroad. |

generationz:Oh my goodness, you believe in too much superstitions. Marine spirit, mamy water, etc are all superstitions, do you have any evidence for these imaginary entities? Or do you also believe in the little marmaide, Aquaman, Posiedon? Babies are not gotten from imaginary spirit, you might hear or see people going out to see spiritual priests for babies but it's not what they claim that happened, like I said quit believing in superstitions, it's illogical to believe these things actually happens especially in this tech age. |

If only you knew the kind of mistake you are about to embark upon. Good job, nice apartment and proposal to start a business! How foolish can a man be to throw off real for hope, tangible for promise, happy life style for stress, fustration and regrets. You wanna leave real money for written money, for those who dont know what I mean, thats where you make $55, 000 per year on your payslip but only get save $7000 after taxes, bills and living expenses. Stay back progress gradually...and build your own business. Then vacation and smile. |
| Re: Should I Leave My N200k Job For Abroad Job? by Admitwithschola: 4:33am On Sep 23, 2018 |
dinggle:You guys just make up stories. As I said before, if some of us weren't exposed to how things actually are, we would be believing some of the things that are said here.. Some of you just throw numbers how you like. $55,000 per year comes to $43,000 after tax. Please can you smartly explain how "bills and living expenses" can possibly take almost 84% of this, for a single guy with plans and no wife and pikin bukata or family bukata? Even me living in one of the expensive cities here, with all the bills and all, if I had a plan todo business, I can live on 24,000 dollars per year, easily. Sometimes I marvel for nairaland posters. That's how the other one said blacks and Nigerians don't get top jobs abroad. And even if we assume very wrongly that he is only left with 7,000 dollars savings after all expenses and taxes, that is still way more than what he will save in Nigeria on a salary of 200K per month (assume zero tax, which is not even correct).. So, in case you have not thought it well, think again. Some of us have lived in both situations. We are not just typing.. And by the way, you guys should stop telling the OP he is making a mistake. I remember the story of one nairalander 5 years ago, I forgot his name ooo. He worked for Addax and was earning around 500K or 1million per month. Then he got a scholarship to Tu Dellft and he wanted to resign. Everyone thought he was mad, as per naija factor, lol. Oh, you're making the worst mistake of your life, ooh, abroad is hard, ooh, this and that...But,, the guy resigned and dared them. He went to Tu Delft, did the 2-year masters and fantastically landed a job paying him multiples of his naija salary..Guy, if na your story, abeg show here.. The same people telling him he was making the worst mistake of his life were the ones praising his decisions. If OP's education side is very tight, and the job is sure, I would take the job sharp, sharp..So, there are many variables involved here. This life has big opportunities and sometimes one needs to take calculated risks |

frozen70:That's the thing. OP is not giving helpful details, but I hope he is got some good ideas from all posters. I keep responding and responding to posts here because I had been in OP's shoes before.. The decision OP takes now can mean a lot in the next few years. If the OP is still mid 20's, then he can take risks anyhow, but anything after 30, open eyes oo |
| Re: Should I Leave My N200k Job For Abroad Job? by Admitwithschola: 4:52am On Sep 23, 2018 |
obedibaba:Guy, e depends oo. You cannot use the "so many people" argument. So many of those people are regretting badly. I remember a story one my flat mate told me in Italy. Bad, bad stories. If one is reasonably well paid in Naija, they should only leave naija, in my opinion, if there is a really strong reason to leave. Like they got a sure job at a decent company abroad or they got a nice scholarship or some other sure stuff. You don't leave a good job in naija to just go and roku abroad. Na hunger oo. Minimum wage jobs are hard and tedious... |
