This thread is handy and timely. Thanks op
Can I give my 5mnths old baby pureed /mashed potatoes and other? We just started taking pap
Yes u can
Some people start as early as 4momths but u can add little water or breast milk so the consistency will be very light to be easy for ur LO
Remember to remove all lumps to avoid choking

This is very timely! Thanks for taking the initiative...
The mashed potatoes, can I add breast milk, as oppose to for formula? What consistency should the potatoes be? Very watery? What amount of milk should I add to the potato puree?

Yes you can add milk.

What consistency should the potatoes be? Very watery?
Not very water and not very thick, just inbetween.

What amount of milk should I add to the potato puree?
The amount you think is ok.

A typical example below.. Though that is with carrot and egg York.

Thanks so much for this initiative
For papaya puree, do I steam 1st?
Or I can just blend or mesh straight away
And again, what's the best way of preserving baby's puree? Can I freeze?

Have u tried any Cooked meal he likes?

I use this presently as a guide. I swap the foods also depending on time and items available.

Make enquires about the number of times they eat at school so you don't over-pack. Usually, it's breakfast, snack, lunch and early dinner. We just moved to toddler class sha.

Sunshine is a big boy now so you may not need to pack much.

Sure you can.

Other recripes: Beans, ripe plantain and fish
Steam to still retain their nutrients then blend with crayfish.

Broccoli, chicken and sweet potato. Do same.

Cook unripe plantain, with onions, crayfish and fish(mackerel or shiny) precisely, small ugu leaf/spinach(owo leaf as called in the local market) then add a half teaspoon of palm oil. When soft, you blend.
Don't use milk for this particular recipe to get the consistency you want. The water you used in cooking the meal should be enough to get it. Just don't let the water dry up.

i'll upload pictures whenn next I prepare these meals again.

He took it but he took it better when I added formula. I think he prefers the taste with formula. Thanks.
