Please I have a valid visa to the US, this is my second Visa . I used the first one, but I'm not sure I will be able to use this before it expires.

My cousin mentioned that if you don't use your visa before it expires, at the point of renewal which will be by drop box ,you will be invited for interview.

Please how true it this , can't find this information anywhere.

I applied for Visa with my wife, daughter. My wife has once been denied so she had a profile.
Created a profile for myself and daughter together but unfortunately wify wasn't interviewed with us cz of error on her application no.she rescheduled her interview but was denied.
My daughter and Myself got our Visa and I visited the US mid this year and back just for 2wks as stated in our DS 160.
Now I want my wife to reapply. She'll go with my passport (eveidence that I travelled and back) and my daughter's passport as we intend going for our anniversary next year in the US.

What does she need to do differently pls.

No issues. It's not a crime not to use it. Travel trips are optional
You can even renew by Dropbox since you are eligible. They may or may not call you for an interview.

Thanks for your contribution.

What's on her record prior to marriage? Are you sure what was filled in the last form is consistent with what she filled in the first form thst was denied?

Please House I have a question :
A friend intends to apply for visit visa but he is scared that he might get rejected, due to the fact that there have been a lot of rumour that they reject people of younger age for visiting visa ( Passport age is 26yrs )
So please I want to ask...If all question is been answered well during the course of the interview,do VO still look for excuse to deny applicant at all cost. Or do they issue it in most cases

Which one is passport age again

You mean he uses different age??

A friend of mine has interview 6th of November. She just recently passed her law school exam and her date of call to bar is 29th of November. She intend traveling on 14th to return 21 before her call to bar date. Should she carry her call to bar invitation card and other
law school documents with her to the embassy to show she won't abscond and to prove her ties because she will surely return before her call to bar date. Suggestions please

if the person had travel experience will be of help and what he was going to do as well.. answer all question correctly can help... but the travel experience speak, if he is still schooling might create some doubt due to the age... if he is working with kids that might stand as ties... but the chances is within 40% of 100%

Once they are through they will ask you to print the new ds160 which will have same now with the appointment page

Get ready a PDF copy of international passport and the forms making reference to them

Kindly do this urgently for quick response.

Documents are not heavy. She can carry as much documents that she feels is important to her case. I advice that all the documents are carefully arranged in a particular order for easy access incase the VO asks for any document.

She should focus more on how to explain the trip to the VO. Is it plainly for tourism or for an event? Also highlight her other ties to the VO. I personally don't think the "call to bar date" is a strong tie as such.

It's a tour organized by the students representative council which law school authority has endorsed. There are other people going for interview as well not just her. But my friend is currently doing her NYSC. The tour will be sponsored by her father and she is 23yrs.

She should just try and pin point anything that shows she is returning after the trip ( call to bar is not enough tie for a single young corper). Take all necessary documents and hope for the best.

I heard something today from a very reliable (official) source about US visiting visas and wondered if it applies to Nigeria. Granted, I am not an expert on these matters, so I would like more experienced folks on this thread to weigh in. I was told that you are not permitted to provide childcare services while visiting your family in the U.S. It is considered work and tourists are not authorized to work in the US. You can visit and see the child, but if it goes beyond that into babysitting or other care, you are violating the terms of your visa and could jeopardize any future visits. For example, a grandmother can visit with grandkids on a visiting visa, but childcare and helping take care of the children falls under working because it takes away jobs from US daycare centers and teenagers who babysit. That type of work, even unpaid, is prohibited on a B1/B2 shocked Saying I was shocked is an understatement. Is this not a typical reason why Nigerian grandmothers visit the U.S.? And don't they state this reason clearly during the visa interview? Is it overlooked for Nigeria because its our culture?

I doubt this. My mum was granted a B1B2 visa specifically for the purpose of helping with my 2year old and the baby. And she was asked questions relating to taking care of newborns. How many grandkids she's taken care of before bla bla.
I'm about renewing her visa through drop box too.

Though there are people who go for omugwo and take side jobs of baby sitting for others there for a fee. I'm sure it's these kind of people the person was referring to

Correct. It is those women who baby sit in an attempt to get paid for the services are the ones who are violating the terms of their visiting visas.

There was even a case that came out some time last year where a granny was baby sitting a family member's child and along the line the child unfortuanately died in her arms as a result from aspiration.

During the investigation of the matter they found out that she was on a visiting visa and at the same time was getting paid for providing the childcare. She was eventually sentenced to some years in jail and was going to be deported after serving her sentence and be permanently banned from ever entering the US.

Hello house, I plan visiting the United State and I have a friend (white) a US citizen who's ready to sent me an invitation letter and stand as my sponsor, but I don't know how to go about it neither does he.

Please what can I do, is there any samples of how he could write the letter as he has never wrote such before.

Your assistance would be very appreciated.

visiting his uncle for 2 week might help or not... depending 8n the location his uncle reside... there are some red flag state in the united state for now... the red flag state are mostly MN, NY, Wi and so on, benin Republic is not enough, I wish he shld travel to the north Africa before applying, so it won't be on Benin. America embassy doesn't have interest in document. They only have interest in where you have visited and which area you're visiting... but in all never tell them you're still schooling and that age they might give a lil doubt if you said youre married with kids... but befpre you try ypur luck try visit some other country. I dont know if this is helpful

I've been to some countries in Europe and few African countries. I have a residence permit of one Eastern Europe country but expired.

How do I met him?
I met him in Europe when he was a missionary, he approached me and preached the gospel to me, then got invited to his church, afterwhich I was baptized and we became friends, then he returned to the State after a year time, now its been about three years we saw each other, I wanna that opportunity to visit him and also visit the United State.

if he can write you the invitation thats good... just fill the ds 160 with his details... home address and phone number that he can be reach .

but that question that you answer will justify your chance for meeting him. and also your travel history is ur chance as well
