Hello House, good afternoon... Plz I need a urgent help. I filled my Ds160 form and my departure date was Sept 2018 but I was denied via Drop box, I was told to book another appointment online and appear for an interview but I couldn't due to work load so I changed my departure date to April 3,2019 on the Ds160 but the interview date now is April 4.What can I do? Can I change the departure date again on my ds160 form even though I have booked my appointment?Secondly,i noticed the Ds160 confirmation number that was given to me in the form I filled in September is still the one showing on my appointment letter. Hope it's doesn't matter? Urgent Pls!!!!

Between now and April 4 is loads of time.
Fill a brand new form. Write to the embassy to update they with your profile.
That should sort the second issue. And yes it matters if the day 160 u wish to use is different from that on your letter

1.Google US embassy in Nigeria website. The process is stated clearly
2. Go to page 1 of this thread and see the applicable links

3. Most importantly. Find time to go through this thread for nuggets of gold

Yes I did dropbox but was called for interview but it ended on a goodwill, visa Issued but the VO asked more and more question(s) and 98% of the question directed to my wife cos she gave birth in States. That day was something else after 30 minutes of questions, we were issued with a US Visa and 96% of the people that came for Interview went home feeling bad while 4% including me went home happy. Meanwhile 70% are dropbox applicant and 30% first time applicant. 10% dropbox applicant approved and 60% denied. While 30% first time applicant, none was issued with a visa. US visit is something else now and not like before. You havw to merit it before the issue you with a visa.

NOTE: If you gave birth in the states and invited for interview after dropbox, please go with every receipt you received from the hospital, even your accomodation resevations, copy of that letter of intent, hospital bills, and every receipt. Red flag if you either use any insurance, medicare and mediaid or if you did not pay your bills.

Again be honest, I said again honesty. Boldness and explain every question even if it takes more time, just explain.

What you heard is correct, but I doubt if you still have enough time for this to be effected. You most likely will not be able to get interviewed on Tuesday. But then, try and fill another form now with PASSPORT COMPULSORILY UPLOADED, and change the DS160 number on your profile. Do that now, no more time.

In short, just quickly generate a new number and update your profile first now even without submitting yet.

Hi OmoBendel I'm in the same situation, pls help. Mine is a renewal via drop box,do I absolutely have to fill another ds160 ? If so,pls run me through .. I Fill another form, update my profile with the new ds160 no,print new ds160/and new interview waiver form and I'm home and dry? Abeg no vex for my 21 questions

You and your wife deserved the visa no doubt. You had the intention of giving birth in the US (which is perfectly legal btw) and you paid all your bills that were incurred. You did not abuse the original visa and had proof of that and y'all were well prepared for the interview you. US visa you have to qualify according to the US law no magic, and if you are you will be issued whether the VO likes you or not.

Congrats

Which kind generalization be this before it was pregnant people and Houston now it’s bankers and New York...there is nothing we won’t read
megastu:
He should just be confident that is all.

Is he single? does he have any ties to Nigeria. Bankers and New York are a Red Flag these days.

Gone are the days when being a banker was prestigious. These days, they know that banking is one of the least secured profession in Nigeria and that is the reason why a lot of bankers are relocating despite having a job as a banker.

Good evening...please I have a question... My husband and i and our 3 kids were granted U.S visas in 2016, we travelled last summer (2017) and stayed for a month. We renewed our visas in March this year and I went ahead to have a baby here in Nigeria (she is 4 months old). I need to get my baby a visa so that we can visit the U.S again this Christmas. How do I apply for a baby? Am I to go for an interview with her? Please tell me how it's done....Thanks for your time.

Good morning....
I asked this question here weeks ago and never got a reply. However, i decided to just apply for my 5 months old baby through the normal process of filling out a form and taking her for an interview. The interview was yesterday. I only took the printed DS-160 confirmation page, appointment confirmation page, her international passport, two of her passport pictures, her birth certificate, a consent letter from her dad, and my international passport.

Our interview was for 9:45am, but we were done with the interview and got home even before 9:30am...the Embassy was scanty (very surprising).

At the 'Take-in' (abi sign-in) window, the Lady behind the window asked me for my baby's passport, i handed it to her. She asked for the DS-160 confirmation page and Appointment confirmation page, i gave her. Then she asked me if i had a valid visa, i replied "Yes". She said i should give it to her. She gave my passport back to me and gave me back the confirmation pages and asked me to put them away because they wouldn't be needing them anymore. Then she gave me my baby's passport and said that was all i needed and then directed me to a guy who in turn directed me to a window to wait our turn for the interview.

We got to the Black American lady that was to interview us...

V.O : Good morning.
ME : Good morning.
V.O : Passport please...
I passed my baby's passport to her. Then she proceeded to type on her computer. She typed and typed and typed and typed. I just stood there....for close to 5 minutes she was still on the computer, then she looked up at me.
V.O : Please hold on a little while.
ME : Not a problem.
She resumed typing and checking the computer for about 2 minutes, then she finally asked,
V.O : So when do you guys plan to travel next?
ME : Sorry?
V.O : When do you plan to travel next?
ME : We plan to travel on the 1st of April and spend 3 weeks.
V.O: Ok. (Resumes typing)
I chipped in....
ME : We are also making plans to see if we can travel this Christmas though. But we are not sure about that yet.
V.O : Ok.
Types again....
V.O : Where would you be going to?
ME : Los Angeles.
V.O : Do you have a friend in Los Angeles?
ME : No, but my sister lives there.
V.O : So you would be staying with her?
ME : Yes, that's where we stayed when we visited last year.
V.O : And you would be staying for how long? 3 weeks?
ME : Yes, three weeks.
V.O : And if you travel this christmas, how long will you stay?
ME : 2 weeks, so that the kids can go back to school.
V.O : Do you have her birth certificate?
ME : Yes. (I pass it to her).
She resumes typing again then keeps my baby's passport on one side.
V.O : Your application was approved. (She hands me the white paper) You would be contacted when her visa is ready so you go pick it up at the circled address.
ME : Thank you very much.

While i was there, i didn't see anyone else get a white paper ooo......only blue paper everywhere. The Embassy was scanty, making me wonder how come there are no recent appointment dates. Who booked them all then?

Anyway, i decided to share my transcript and the process of applying for a baby incase anyone here is as confused as i was.

Thank you for sharing. It is Better for the embassy to be scanty. So that VO's become less busy this days. If they don't see anyone at the Embassy. They would value us more

Makes no difference. They won't value us anymore simply because fewer people come for visa appointments
Embassies and consular series are here based on a country's diplomatic and business interest in the home country's NOT because of visa applications. Visa services are a just a small fraction of work done. Visa application cash is the same worldwide. It's our exchange rate that makes ours seem like a lot of cash

What's your status in the US?

We need to understand so we can know How To Help you

I responded earlier. I came here seeking for advice. I just lost my dad. I haven't seen my mother in almost 3 years. She needs the change of environment as i think it is going to help her get over the grief asap. I explained my current situation and my wife is sending out the invite to her. To come visit us. A friend i know, who is also in the same situation, his wife invited her mother in law and brother in law for their wedding and they gave them the visa. He was also undergoing AOS.

My mother can't stay here forever because i still have very young sisters back home and they can't be left alone. Hopefully this is a tie back home. Her business is also back home and that's what we all survive on. I wanted my sisters to come along with her but then i was worried that they may deny all of them thinking they all want to immigrate or something.

So please, any tip or advice on how to make this work?
