The interview in my opinion couldn't have ended abruptly at the stage the OP put it in the transcript unless he was absolutely lieing to the VO and was caught, maybe long caught ahead of time sef, or OP was fronting fake/unsubstantiated travel history. If not I don't see why one with travel history (severally oh, and all combined too!) to Australia that ranks about same category as US visa, to UK their sister country and a schengen (Sweden) experience in addition will have his interview ended right at the level of his strongest advantage on the application. Abeg, the transcript no complete, something key is missing jare! But what do I know?

Bro eee, it could have ended like that sir. the ways the consular officer are acting now na 'Wonder Wonder' your experience as a senior man'US Visa' is totally different from what it is now.

Is there a particular style/template or format that consular officer use in "ending" an interview?

How do you come up with these hypothetical scenarios when you were not present at the interview, did not view the VO's notes or know for a fact the applicant lied or faked travel history?

Even if you are the President of US Visa critique association a simple question to the OP asking more info about his interview could have given you a better idea about what transpired rather than exposing your judgemental and high horse personality

Been a long while Afonja! Well, a study of the processes over the years and experiences read from VOs themselves have made it clear that interview ends abruptly the moment a VO discovers a lie from an applicant, or a misrepresentation is discovered or that an opportunity for high doubt ratio in the VO comes up during the interview. Simps bruv!

Meanwhile, if you read me right, I haven't even concluded that was what happened, I believe the OP likely is missing a step or two on how the interview ended, and I did express same. But if the case is what is written already on the transcript, then i will likely hold to that my personal opinion that isn't sitting right with you.

Sorry if I came across as one on high horse on this....

Good morning all,

My question is : My US Visa will expire in Jan, 2019 and I want to travel in March, 2019, when is the best time to apply for a Dropbox? Do I wait for the visa to expire or I should apply now as the interview date for US EMBASSY is very far.

Hello Lady G. I hope it’s okay if I ask a few questions. I have a friend who is Nigerian studying in the Caribbean. She wants to apply for visit visa to visit the us for 2 weeks during her break. What are the chances of her getting the visa as she’ll be applying from there and not Nigeria. She’s 26, single and her parents are sponsoring her education.

OK.

Actually most of the time it does not end abruptly once a clear case of misrepresentation of that calibre is discovered law enforcement is called in and you are given a straight ban from entering the USA not just a visa denial. Not that simps bruvs cheesy

By the way you owe the poster that apology not me.

I see you been holding it up here. Good job though

The Demoncrat obstructionists think they will flood the USA with illegal immigrants but DJT will continue to keep his promises and drain the swamp.

Hardline immigration policies are good for every country and the Nigeria government should start thinking of building and improving infrastructure and the economy so Nigerians will not be perennial visa and citizenship seekers

Good day All,
first post(apologies for the long post). i have traveled numerous times to the UK in the past 15 years or so. and i schooled in the UK(Masters degree)also been back and forth on work training .my first attempt at a USA Visa was successful when i applied for a B1/B2 in the year 2015( i was never asked if i was pregnant). I found out after that i was pregnant and decided to have my baby in the USA. I asked about changing my visa to a medical one and was told it covers for medical. i was advised to send a change of intent letter. i did and proceeded to the USA. At the point of entry even before i was asked i declared my intention and was sent to secondary inspection. that took less than 5 minutes. the officer asked me for the bill and how much i had with me. i told them the bill (hospital and doctor )which amounted to about 6000+ dollars. the officer was surprised at the total and i reminded him that i was self pay and so got huge discounts he laughed, agreed, stamped me in wishing me a safe delivery.
fast forward to 2017 it was time for renewal so i opted for drop box. less than a week i was called and immediately handed a 212g and asked to show up for a follow up interview. when i got there i greeted, got no response the lady had a very stern expression and demanded to see my hospital bill which i presented (the bill was from Atlanta) she barely looked at the paper and said no way will you get childbirth for 3200. i explained that it was self pay. she asked for my doctor bill which was about 3000 and was OK with it. she now said if i cant prove that it was self pay she wont grant the application. on my zero bill it showed the adjustments. i now begged please if you don't believe me can you call or investigate. i think this annoyed her further because she snapped and said it wasn't part of her job. and shouted NEXT!
fast forward to 2018 this time my main purpose was family visit with my kids (the first i had in the UK as a student, the 2nd i had here in Nigeria and the last i had in the USA)my husband couldn't join us because he had work commitments. this time i got another zero balance saying fee was adjusted from hospital. as soon as i got there another very stern reception. he asked if all my kids were present i said the last one is a US citizen so needs no visa so i came with those needing visa. he asked where i worked and where i was going. i told him. that was it! the next thing he said was that i wasn't qualified. HAH!. i was qualified before what has disqualified me??
They didn't ask for my zero balance which i believed to be the reason for my refusal the last time.
I have a clean travel history
i truly paid all my bills and rigidly forced the doctors and hospital to hand them over before leaving the USA
i have never taken any govt aid and always advised people against it
could i have taken my Son to interview to prove i didn't leave him in the USA?
Just confused and hurt and i also noticed that all my friends who previously had kids in the USA around that time were all refused renewals. i have been honest in my application and for me to be refused twice in a row after initially getting a visa is quite depressing. have i been marked to never get visa? is there a way i can find out reasons for my repeated refusals? as i plan to apply early nest year again. I Think you were refused because the 3200 you stated as medical bill is on their system. An average mdical bill is in the region of 6000 to 12k USD. Having paid 3200 flags up on their system. You need to check well to see if you actually paid all bills; Doctor, Hospital, Ear test etc.

Doctor's fee is separate from Hospital Bills.

The people who entered Canada via America Land border are being sent back anyway.

However, Visa issuance is not strictly by profile, it is by how confident you are. They also do a bit of background checks on applicants.

The Visa Officer made up his mind to deny when he found out that the applicant was single. Dont forget that these Visa Applicants are humans, live in VI/Ikoyi, go to lounges/club with the locals and even have girlfriends. So they have an idea of whats going on.

For example, those days, being a banker almost guarantees you an america visa. However, these days, they know that banking jobs are one of the riskiest. You can be sacked any day, so presenting your profile as a banker could even earn you a denial.

However, the proper thing is to apply from where one has ties. I suppose her ties are in the Caribbean now. It is now for a visa officer to determine if it's sufficient.

@Toyeengbemi;

Your biggest challenge and most likely root cause of all these should be somewhere around the below submission of yours....

"My first attempt at a USA Visa was successful when i applied for a B1/B2 in the year 2015( i was never asked if i was pregnant). I found out after that i was pregnant and decided to have my baby in the USA"

It's almost a no-no not to first use your issued visa for the reason it was approved in the first, then somehow now use it for birthing first, especially in the past few years. This style of visa usage has been hunting and biting peeps back seriously, to worsen this, there has been some sort of upsurge in sternness/refusals in this direction from the VOs.

Check and repeat your post in the birthing thread sha.... https://www.nairaland.com/4250945/give-birth-usa-cost-procedures/217

Good day house. Pls I have a girl that have been staying with me since she was little and she's 14 years now. She's my cousin and an orphan. So we started doing adoption process for her and the papers just came out.

we just did international passport for her. Now we want to get a visa for her so she can come with hubby over here. We plan on doing Xmas here before returning back.

My question is if we fill in the application form for her, and she gets an interview appointment for next year, is it possible hubby takes her before then to the embassy for interview since he has a running visa already and he's planning to come witg her here this DEC first week.

HOUSE PLEASE HELP.

Your childbirth in U.S was discounted, the reason why U.S allowed birth tourism is because you(Foreigner) will pay 3x what the normal citizen were suppose to pay(Which in turn help the U.S medical sector). Unfortunately a lot of people will outsmart the system with the help of greedy doctors by going for discounted child birth.
My advice for you is to allow U.S rest for now and visit elsewhere... naturally V.O's get mad when such situation comes up because they thought you set out to cheat the system.

I will attempt to break it down to a reasonable level.

I am not an impulsive shopper and never will be especially when it concerns life of a new born, personal health and well being.

This is not like buying Chico phone or London use laptop that you just jump into Danfo and go to Ikeja under bridge to buy whatever you can buy even if it means running game on the seller or have him/her give you for free.

Now step back for a minute if you like quality and you want or to be fair need laptop/phone you will go to SLOT or HP office on the mainland or island and if they low ball you, wouldn't you ask questions like why is it so low is there a sale going on? Are these products refurbished, low grade, what's the selling price of the real deal ? These are valid questions.

To the real deal these scenarios are not comparable with human life. You know how much average prenatal/postpartum maternity cost is for foreigners who desire to take advantage of immigration system via medical tourism in the U.S. (that is the reason why the damn thing is expensive in the first place) and the technicalities involved in medical transfers from naija and visa processing.

If a doctor or shady hospital for whatever reason gives you a way lower than the belt average cost it is your responsibility to inform them hey this is way above normal cost is anything else attached to it and let them know you are a foreigner can they tell you the reason for the pricing. They are obliged to tell you oh we having some new trials and we trying to rack up results by driving sales or blah blah blah.

I tried to break it down as simple as I could.

Now she has chop discount whey too big for her throat oyinbo man done catch her.

If you have family member in her shoes tell them to go and tell the visa officers what you just said up there they will definitely pity her and give them

Hey guys Goodmorng...

Been awhile but i been a silent reader...
I am abit worried on Dropbox renewals from this experiences that has been shared here in recent times , cos this year i had chose not to renew until i am sure i have a travel plan to visit, to avoid un-used visas that i end up with...
My B1/B2 expired in Sept and its definitely looking like i would be travelling to the US first week in Jan but from London.
I haven't violated any visa usage/rules, so i am hoping i wont be slammed with an invite for interview..
When is the best time to drop my application for renewal, if i am to leave Lagos for London on the 21st December, and if all goes smoothly with the renewal, how long does it take to have the Passport&Visa ready for pick up? *trying to avoid December backlog stories that touch, hence my double checking with you all*
Does 1st week in Dec look ok to submit?

thank you yes i paid 3000 for doctors, my total was about 6200 i even came with receipts for all checks for baby, pediatricians and even circumcision(L0L). thanks you have any advice on what to do next?
megastu:
I Think you were refused because the 3200 you stated as medical bill is on their system. An average medical bill is in the region of 6000 to 12k USD. Having paid 3200 flags up on their system. You need to check well to see if you actually paid all bills; Doctor, Hospital, Ear test etc.

Doctor's fee is separate from Hospital Bills.
