All the defenders Listed are regular starters in their Club side.....
Faith Ikidi plays 90minutes for her Swedish club and she is their key defender.
Osinachi Ohale is the strongest their, she is tough, fast and the most difficult to get past.
Ebi is not very much Athletic again but she uses her Experience well in playing her position and she is still strong and good in the Air., She is a good marker.
Ebere is currently our Best Left Back, filled with overlapping run and can deliver some diffence splitting crosses... She can also score directly from the Corner kick and Free kick spot..
she does her diffensive duties well...
Defences win tournaments, strikers win matches. We have both good strikers and defenders. We are looking good

Yes regular starting brings its wear and tear. Africans seem not to learn or invent a method. Africans readily tow-cow silly precedence. I have always loved Faith Ikidi but also have seen her looked her age on the field especially when faced with younger and skillful attackers. Ebi and Ohale once looked like electric poles in recent world match in USA. Africans tend to open themselves to ridicules only to blame others on idiotic "racism". I repeat, the back four of Ebi, Ikidi, Ohale and Ebere is too old.

Onome Ebi 35yrs
Faith Ikidi 31yrs
Ngozi Ebere 27yrs
Osinachi Ohale 26yrs
You are insisting on that they are too Old, don't forget they play competitive Football in their various Leagues and still face younger Attackers there. Am very much okay with them since they still play what the coaches want..
By the way there are other defenders in the Squad that are younger who can still replace them if the need arises..
Josephine Chukwunonye 26yrs
Sarah Nnodim 22yrs
Glory Ogbonna 19yrs.

Yes I insisted they are too old and have played many matches that induced serious wear and tear. However you missed on the issue of mixing the old and youth at the same time. Again, if I am the coach of the Falcons, Chidinma Okeke, Emenayo, Ogbonna or Nnodim should be in the mix of my back four at a time not all times. I shall not be lured into sleep with tired legs.

We're talking about AWCON here sir. That defence is by far the best coming to AWCON. Look at the other countries and you will see leggy defenders. Age is not a measure of pace for defenders. Ability to read a game is key. The AWCON is not known for rapid attackers who play quick European football. These our defenders will mostly have to deal with players in front of them, not ones running behind them. Even if they do make those runs, its only a case of sitting back a bit.
BTW, the ladies in camp yet to be fully kitted. Typical NFF neglect.

You have written like a typical African. Whether it is AWCON or World Cup, I start in time to build a team. Again, if I am the coach of the Falcon, it will be reserved to me to replace either Onome Ebi or Osinachi Ohale or both for Chidinma Okeke and another young defender such as Opayemi Sunday. If players are not known for their prime time or old age according to you, "Age is not a measure of pace for defenders", one wonders why players retire from the game.

Alaba Jonathan dropped? 4 goalies left in camp.
Super Falcons’ Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby has cut the number of home –based professionals in camp for the 11th Women Africa Cup of Nations finals holding in Ghana. The team has been training at the impressive Jubilee Chalets & Resort Epe, Lagos.

The Swede, who graciously allowed the players to feature for their respective clubs in the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) at the weekend recalled a handful of those he feels can give the invited overseas-based professional players good fight for places in the final squad as Nigeria aim to retain her continental title and claim the trophy for the ninth time in 11 championships.

Among those retained in camp for the second phase camping which will commence immediately are four goalkeepers- Toochukwu Oluehi, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ohiaeriaku and Onyinyechukwu Okeke.

Others are Anam Imo, Rasheedat Ajibade, Peace Efih, Glory Ogbonna, Chioma Wogu, Alice Ogebe, Amarachi Okoronkwo and Chidinma Okeke. Also retained are Ugochi Emenayo, Sarah Nnodim and Nneka Julius.

Nasarawa Amazons defender, Christy Ucheibe was sent home from the camp on account of copping a long –term kneel injury.

http://www.thenff.com/2018/10/awcon-2018-dennerby-trims-number-of-players-in-camp/

I hope her club side and Nigerian federation are making sure that this girl's alleged kneel injury does not terminate her career. She is a good young player that will be even great for Nigeria.

I am not convinced with the midfield.
If we play 4-3-3, they will do just fine against most teams. Okobi's creativity and Rita Chikwelu's grit is going to be stretched. I really would have loved another midfielder, but my guess is that Rashidat Ajibade might be drafted to offensive midfield role if needed.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) over the reinstatement of Equatorial Guinea to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

On Wednesday the Confederation of African Football (Caf) restored Equatorial Guinea to the finals in place of Kenya after an appeal.

In October Kenya were awarded a place in the finals when Caf ruled Equatorial Guinea had fielded an ineligible player in qualifying.

Caf's Appeal Board announced on Wednesday that: "The player Annette Jacky Messomo is eligible to play for the national team of Equatorial Guinea

In the original ruling from Caf had upheld a protest from the Football Kenya Federation over the eligibility of Messomo.

The decision at the time was that: "The player in question was allegedly of Cameroonian nationality and had played for several European based clubs."

In response FKF released a statement saying: "It is our belief that both Caf and Cas will treat the matter with the seriousness that it deserves, this even as Harambee Starlets remain in camp in preparation for" the tournament.

The letter added that FKF stands by its assertion that Messomo is ineligible to play for Equatorial Guinea.
The news of the successful appeal came just as Kenya drew 1-1 with Ghana in a friendly on Wednesday.

As it stands two-time winners Equatorial Guinea will be in Group B for the finals that are due to begin on 17 November.

They are due to begin their campaign against Zambia on 18 November before facing South Africa and defending champions Nigeria.

If we are taking the coach seriously about his type of players thenChikwelu should not be a CMF. We need a runner for that position someone who will mark non stop and free up Okobi. I think Ajibade could also do that job she is technical enough with enough gas to burn

Halimatu Ayinde is the Best for that position... in order to free up Okobi so that she can operate,
By the way the coaches will always go with
Amarachi Okoronkwo at Defensive Midfield, Rita Chikwelu at Central Midfield with Okobi doing the main Supply in the Midfield.... Ayinde will have to come in when Okobi get tired..

Halimatu Ayinde is the most powerful and tireless player in that Midfield... she doesn't get tired easily, she is full of energy..

Caf should just allow Kenya to continue, they have been training for quite some time now and a lot of logistics has been put in that team. Even though i would have love to see Nigeria beat equatorial Guinea they will be ill prepared and pose little or no competition to our team.

The Chidinma Okeke you are talking about is not even a defender.. she is naturally a striker but was reverted to play as a center back by the U20 coach Kurugu.
There are better options at the Center Back position..
Opeyemi Sunday is a right back and she is not up to the Class of Ugo Njoku yet.... she is just 19yrs and can grow Asap.

We have many many upcoming defenders. Natural selection means that players like Sarah Nnodim will come in to replace Onome.

CAF has fallen hands again. Jeez!!

Why would they unjustly throw Kenya away, and replace them with the Equatorial Guinea cheats?

I just hope the CAS would grant the Kenyan FA some sort of ex-parte hearing on the matter because the tournament is only 9 days away.

Ten would be an awkward format.

I'd go with a 12-team format, comprising three groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group, and the 2 best third-placed teams across the groups would then move on to the quarter finals.

A converted striker yet received a well-deserved accolade from coach Thomas Dennerby for her performance during U20 tournament. What would have happened if she has played her natural position during the aforementioned competition? Thank goodness I am not the coach because building a team for world cup competition would have been included in my cards during the AWCON. By the way, is Ugo Njoku in the invited list? I like the demeanor of the girl on the field.

AFRICA WOMEN CUP OF NATIONS
Last updated 8 hours ago
Ahead of the showdown with South Africa next week, Thomas Dennerby's ladies will tackle the boys in a friendly in Abidjan
Nigeria senior women's team will play ASEC Mimosas U16 boys in a local friendly at the Sol Beni Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.
The warm-up match will be coming four days after Thomas Dennerby's ladies landed in the Ivorian capital for their eight-day final camping for the Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Prior to their trip, the Super Falcons had lost 3-2 in the first friendly match against Dominion Hotspur at the Atlantic Hall pitch, Epe during their two-week long camping in Lagos.

Having trained for three days in Abidjan, Dennerby believes the game will help the coaching crew assess his overseas-based players, who missed the team's first warm-up game a week ago.
"I think it is always good to play friendly because some other players came to camp lately," Dennerby told Goal.
"Hopefully, the one or two games and some good training sessions in Abidjan will help us in preparing very well." Super Falcons to face Asec Mimosas U16 in friendly in Abidjan.

That's the best they can do. don't expect them to field inexperienced and unexposed players. if u look at the array of the players, they are mixture of experience and young talent players
