Joseph Kony was a black man from Uganda and not a white man dumb head. Read about him and you will see a possessed man from a Christian home who worked with charms. That still doesn’t answer my question. My friend go and sleep

Why do Christians like oppressing the Muslims?

I think there is need for a general policy all over the country for the respect of what Muslims practice.

I don't think Muslims do this to them. It really unfair and I count it as not and I count this as social illiteracy.

Please don't ever lie about oppression again. Where did Christians oppress muslims?

I sincerely am not happy with you for this barefaced lie. sad angry

Have you objectively seen the world to see where the troubled hot spots are? Objectively, who gets killed the most in their own countries? If you go to the north the larger populations are Muslims. Who gets killed, raped and enslaved the most? How many Muslims can go to the east to build mosques anywhwre and brag about it anyhow? But who makes the loudest noise? Who cries foul even when the issues have nothing to do with them...

The big problem is we are all getting less and less tolerant of one another and wanting to impose our believes on others ... If you check this objectively you would see that those who are crying as victims are the ones who are actually oppressing

The only problem making other religions scared of bringing you close to their abode is your terrorism reputation. Nothing else and you know this.

How can a whole religion tolerate and encourgare terrorism and extremism?

What are you talking about? Has anybody stopped muslims from adorning hijab on the streets of Nigeria?

What parents and schools are advocating is that Hijab should not be worn in our public secondary schools. Besides, there is a subsisting Court of Appeal Judgment upholding the right of muslim girls to wear Hijab. So where is the oppression and hatred?

As for me personally, I wouldn't allow my children go to a school where Hijab is allowed. That is my personal decision and no amount of muslim condemnation will change that. I am too experienced to be fooled by muslim lies. I know that the religion is violent and barbaric. No Jupiter can convince me otherwise.

How are they oppressing there's missionary school's for Christian only, their's Muslim schools for Muslim only, and their's school that has rules and regulations without respect to any religion, don't be too ignorant to choose and obey the one in ur interest and stop trying to impose ur belief on something governed by its own law especially when their's a place to exhibit or practice your beliefs. Actually millions of women do wear them...but for ISI students, it is a fashion statement!

Also, tights would be the last thing I would expect a Nigerian female secondary student to wear to school. It is so out of place in a country like Nigeria.

If anything, I would expect those with conservative values to approve of young women wearing tights (as undergarments of course, worn under appropriate outer wear wink). After all, tights fully cover the nether parts of these young girls. Which is at the heart of this whole argument, isn't it?

Back to the main issue.

I am not aware of ISI rules explicitly approving or permitting micro minis, etc. for female pupils. Perhaps the school may not rigidly enforce the dress code (that may explain your comments about what you may have seen pupils of the school actually wearing) but unless things have changed considerably, the rules ARE there. Whether they are strictly enforced is another argument entirely and one I cannot speak authoritatively about.

That is the point I was trying to make to the fellow I quoted (when he claimed provocative dressing is viewed as a fundamental right by ISI management).

When the blacks were always forced to sit at the back of buses...were there no laws to back them up? Who created those laws? Wearing hijabs are not your values so you can't understand what it means to wear one. They know why they do that. Its oppressive to force someone to drop his or her values for any reason...leg shuib refused to denounce Christianity in the face of death...it was just for her to say a few words...but she didnt ...that's how ppl uphold values....to u wearing hijab is something that can be compromised to Muslims it is not...u are not a Muslim so u can't speak for them...rather you should be compassionate enough to help uphold their values ...this is how to create peace and not the other way round.

As an ISI Alumni, i can boldly say never as such incident ever occurred in the great school before. The school doesn't want any additions to the school uniform. If you want to wear hijab, go to a school that allows it. Its simple really. Its the organization rules. If you are at your office and you suddenly start wearing hijab or a bishop's collar and your boss tells you to stop putting it on at work, will you be writing any organization rights to complain? No. You will simply leave. This goes to both Christians and Muslims. If you do not like the ideals of a place or an organization, you simply take your leave and find somewhere that suits your preference. Bintin laiye o.
By the way another thing we may be overlooking is if some students starts dressing differently from others, it could be a recipe for disaster because segregation will occur. Factions will start to form. They are kids and its too yound to expose them to all these things. Fights can break out when one set of people feel they are better than the others. But when everyone is seen as ONE, togetherness will be the order of the day and everyone will remain happy.

You made a very good point.

I am really trying hard to understand you. So I should love muslims by force despite the violence they perpetuate everywhere?

And as for my children, I would tell them about muslims as soon as they can understand right and wrong. I am only protecting them and not hating on anybody.

Your narrative is the exact same tactic muslims used to invade England and much of Europe that they are now on course to overtake and erase the pre-existing demographics in those places. We christians in Nigeria are all too familiar with your gimmicks as seen in Ilorin, Jos, Southern Kaduna and the whole North than to be fooled with muslim platitudes of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. Anybody that allows muslims to fool him will have himself to blame at the end.

My own is to sensitize my family and friends and prepare them for muslim aggression. You can never go wrong with preemptive defence against muslims, you can research into how the state of Israel has existed and prospered amid a host of Arabic Muslim enemies.

@inception...
In the 80s,prior to Nigeria's registration with the OIC,a Muslim politician and philanthropist(who is dead now, names withheld) had obtained grants from Saudi-Arabia to build the Central Mosque.
Before it was built,it was one small mosque at a corner of some metres away from where the Mosque now stands....
This politician now built the Mosque where it now stands adjacent to the cross where the full view of the cross was facing the worshippers whenever the looked up.....
It now caused a heavy religious problem akin to what's happening as they petitioned the then Head of state, and Minister of Education who had their sympathies.
Nigeria just got herself registered at the OIC and the then Minister,Prof. Jubril Aminu(himself,an old boy of the school),had summoned the then VC,Prof. Ayo Banjo to Lagos(then seat of government),and told him specifically to remove the cross to quell the problem. That cross you see there has been there since 1954.
The Christians(staff and students) prior to that had sworn that they rather die than move that cross.
The VC replied the Minister....that it will be easier for the Minister to remove him as VC than for the cross to be relocated.
The cross still stands there till today,
If you are familiar with that place you will discover that in front of the Central Mosque, there is a big wall built with blocks, specifically to block the cross whenever the Muslims pray......

Ok then. We can agree to disagree.

As I said earlier, I am no expert on female dresswear. I have nothing more to contribute in that area.

It is instructive though, that you mention ISI's (debatable) status as a 'federally funded institution'. You also state very clearly that it is not a private school and neither is it a missionary school. Very interesting. No doubt you are aware that many years ago, the Nigerian federal government effectively seized several private/missionary schools from their owners and only recently returned the carcasses to the previous owners. There is strong speculation that the motives for that takeover by government were nothing short of sinister. Your comments lend credence to that view.

Again, back to the main issue.

My predictions for those on the receiving end? I can predict that those parents who wish for the hijab to become part of ISI's dresswear ARE going to win, the same way Asmau Firdaaus won her contest with the Nigerian Law School authorities. The fiery rhetoric on here is not going to stop that inevitable conclusion. And yet this takes place in the same country where so-called state religious police can routinely confiscate and destroy a businessman's legitimately acquired inventory of (federally taxed) alcoholic drinks without any legal repercussions so far. undecided In the same country where not one Sharia state government has publicly volunteered to return any federal money from VAT collected on alcoholic drinks. undecided But then, these things happen because the victims and those on the receiving end of this impunity allow them to happen.

Time will tell.

...will the muslims be okay with the children of herbalists, dem kuku full yorubaland, wearing their cowrie decorated regalia and bring their amulets and beads to school as part of their religion? Why can't muslims be tolerant? Why are they always so easily irritated and always in a hurry to express their religion outwardly? If the adherents of every other religion choose to also express their religion outwardly there will be chaos in public schools. Your religion is your business, and your business is your private matter...so if your children must be in a public secondary school then keep your religious expression to yourself or else send your wards to a private muslim school where your private religious business can remain private! You hardly hear adherents of even satanism making these noise most of the time but muslims are always making noise...all religious noise makers including so called Christians and Muslims should be please shut up and let this country move forward...

It's not a matter of blacks here. It's Islam. ISIs were not mainly blacks but Islamist and white. Before we know nah you go say na America cos am. Everything and anything but Islam. Why is it soo hard for you Muslims to admits the overwhelming violence in your religion but as always seek to deflect, decieve downplay it and project (accuse) others of it as if that nullifies yours. I'm not trying to bring them down or denigrate them, but I just feel Muslims like to act as if they're being mistreated. I understand that they take their religion as a culture, but then again they should stop forcing their nuggets on other people, because some of us take our religions very seriously too but we know when to cut back.

A government school is not a religious school. It won't kill anyone if the girls drop their hijabs for a few hours of school. Schools don't allow Catholic kids to wear Chaplets and medals and finger Rosaries. Schools don't allow girls from other Christian denominations to cover their hair or wear Church vests to school, so why should Muslim girls be permitted to wear hijabs to government schools? Everyone should try to be more tolerant, more flexible and less over-zealous.
