The picture on my profile says it all. Nigerians should blame themselves. When a dullard who forged his certificate, has a track record of bad economy and allow corruption, what do you expect Left to me, Donald Duke would make a good President. 1 Like 1 Share |

Princedapace:I may have misquoted you. it is a “get what you see situation” anyways. The cost of living is high in those countries because the standard and quality of life is high. Quality things don’t come cheap. You get the point now. There is no place with an expensive cost of living that won’t have something better to offer you. For example, you can’t compare the facilities you enjoy in Abuja to the one in yobe. This is it with Nigeria and the better countries. |

winj3: The government failed in providing quality education, that's why a large portion of the population are stupid. See Hausa-fulanis who have the largest population in Nigeria, the majority of them are illiterates. We truly cannot build a progressive nation with these people. 1 Like |

yinchar: I understand your points, but make no mistakes. Even if Nigerian tax rates were as high as that of SA, nothing would still be achieved with our current crop of leaders. What do these leaders have to show with the little tax they already collect? Faithfulness begins with litte. Besides, nothing stops Nigerian govts from taxing the rich and middle class in order to make life better for the poor. Nigerian govt steals from both the rich and the poor without the poor getting anything in return. 1 Like |

Nowenuse: Why not copy the way they hold their ministers and leaders accountable, starting with fixing our judiciary system to be independent from politics . That is how the Jonathans of this country could stand trial in front of the whole country like Zuma is currently doing . But we also have tribalism to deal with, Zulus are not causing any violence over his trial, could that be the case here . Nigeria matter tire me o. |
Re: Nigeria Struggles With N30,000, South Africa Increases Minimum Wage To N126,400 by Nowenuse: 5:29pm On Nov 27, 2018 |
BluntBoy: No, the leaders of a country purely determine it's followers. What will you say about a country like Nigeria where certain part posses leaders who prefer to keep their masses in stack illiteracy so that they can easily be manipulated for election advantage? Same thing that made millions of a section of Nigerians vote a tribal and religious bigot into power and rejected the person who wanted to bring their masses out of the stack illiteracy in which their leaders had left them over the decades through almajiri schools. |

Fitbillionaire:I don't know of south Africa.... But any hardworking person can make 100 dollars a day in most developed country... Especially if the job is bank or contract basis... In fact such amount is close to minimum wage for a day's job.... 30k a day in naija is stretching your imagination too far for an average nigerian worker... That's 900k a month.... I can bet, less than 0.01 percent of naija workers earn such amount.... Most state commisioners don't even earn that except u in the good book of your governor..... Besides, inflation is eating away whatever meagre wage the nigerian worker is earning... 18k minimum wage is rubbish in today's naija economy and 30k per month isn't better in any way..... Even for one person, without any social cushion or govt welfare support... That money can never take u to middle of the month anywhere in naija.... That's why abject poverty is very much pronounced in the last couple of years..... Whatever the high cost of living in western country, 100 dollars a day is ok for u to manage yourself without turning to liability or nuisance while awaiting something better... There's something called dignity in labour... There's a reason that term was coined... That's the point .... Hope u get it now.... |

Ihaveleftnaija: Exactly. When I tell people that tribalism is the main cause of Nigeria's problems, people think it's a lie. Many Nigerians will support an evil doer just because he is from their tribe. Are we going to blame the masses when same politicians use ethno-religious sentiments to win elections? Nigeria may never know progress if not restructured. We need to live in administrative divisions where every tribe/group of similar tribes are responsible for their own progress and welfare. |
