LordReed:Where is your unequivocal evidence for this belief? |
Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 5:48am On Jan 14, 2019 |
HellVictorinho:The rest of your comments didn't say exactly why. |
Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 5:56am On Jan 14, 2019 |
budaatum:Hmm... such leap of faith. Why do you believe that you will wake up tomorrow? Do you know that for certain? You probably have more faith than I do. |
Re: Your Beliefs by Nobody: 6:12am On Jan 14, 2019 |
9inches:They explain why I didn't find your statements significant. |
Re: Your Beliefs by LordReed(m): 6:17am On Jan 14, 2019 |
9inches: There is none. |
Re: Your Beliefs by budaatum: 8:34am On Jan 14, 2019 |
9inches:Good morning 9. It's this morning. I'm awake just like I believed I would. Certainly! |
Re: Your Beliefs by Nobody: 8:47am On Jan 14, 2019 |
budaatum:C'mon. Your waking up today as a probability was far greater than the probability of you not waking up. I can imagine 80-90% for the former outcome and 10-20% for the latter. Note:you were active throughout yesterday(at least online)and you never suggested health-related fears. |
Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 10:58am On Jan 14, 2019 |
HellVictorinho:Do you really know the meaning of insignificant? I'm calling you out on your mode of argument which is obvious for all to see and you're saying it's insignificant while denying at the same time. |

Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 11:16am On Jan 14, 2019 |
budaatum:Good morning. Lucky you! That's great. Keep believing, we can't live the world without belief. |
Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 11:17am On Jan 14, 2019 |
LordReed:Your future. |
Re: Your Beliefs by budaatum: 11:50am On Jan 14, 2019 |
9inches:9! Did I say that, or can you just not live life honestly and without making up untruths? Anyway, last night, I believed we will all wake up this morning, and I now believe we all did. Unless you know of one of us who is still asleep. |
Re: Your Beliefs by Nobody: 11:53am On Jan 14, 2019 |
9inches:You actually think you know how I debate. You also think other people that play Q&A in this section share the same views with you. Unfortunately too,you think you know how to be condescending. Your case is obviously pathetic. Keep thinking backwards. |

9inches: How did you get that from chocolate icecream? |
Re: Your Beliefs by budaatum: 11:57am On Jan 14, 2019 |
HellVictorinho:In fact, the probability that I'd of woken up today is probably 99.999%, I wake up everyday, so why would tomorrow be any different. It is certain that any night I go to sleep, I will wake up the next day. And the only day I will not wake up is the day before the day I will not go to sleep again. And I say that with 99.999% faith that it will be so. |

9inches: For inconsequential personal subjective opinions, all the time. Blue is better than red, tall is better than short, pounded yam is better than eba, etc. If you want to group belief in a god or gods as one these inconsequential personal subjective opinions then fine. |
Re: Your Beliefs by budaatum: 10:20am On Jan 15, 2019 |
9inches:Amazing! Over on another thread, Tatime is telling me people are controlled, and here is you telling me everyone believes things, but I bet neither of you would see the connection between beliefs and control! Anyway, I've told you 9, about my beliefs, and I'm telling you Tatime that Christ's whole time on earth was to free people from the control of the religious leaders who used false beliefs to control them. Serpents who give stones, is a phrase that comes to my mind. Not everyone has beliefs that lack foundation and not all fall for being controlled! If you widen your views a bit you both might see this. |
Re: Your Beliefs by MuttleyLaff: 10:04am On Jan 16, 2019 |
budaatum:budaatum, what you believed that we will all wake up this morning is false though, I know my neighbour is still asleep and doesnt at all wake before lunch time |

Re: Your Beliefs by 9inches(m): 4:32am On Jan 17, 2019 |
budaatum: There's this analogy by GK Chesterton where he says that if you want to build the biggest playground in the world and you spend all of the money to create the bells and the whistles and all the toys and you want the kids to enjoy that playground... he says, build a fence because if you don't, either you'll start policing these kids and haranguing them and yelling at them and creating all these little rules to control them so that they are safe within the playground or they'll run out into the highway and get killed. So, either way the kids will be restricted or hurt if you don't build a fence around the playground. This is the paradox of freedom and fences of Liberty and law. And then, in one of his quotes, he says “When you break the big laws, you do not get liberty; you do not even get anarchy. You get the small laws.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrflYqaWeHM |

Re: Your Beliefs by budaatum: 7:18pm On Jan 23, 2019 |
9inches:I can't claim I get your point here, but at 4:30, he says "Salvation is not based on faith alone but by the quality of our love", love being works, as pointed it in James, which I wholly agree with. But salvation from what, one might ask. Some would claim, from hell and damnation, I, however, being more concerned with the things on this earth which I see and not so much about some god up in heaven whom I see not, or a hell I have no evidence for, would claim salvation from diseases, hunger, exploitation, untimely death and the suchlike which I can see and which damn many, and are things we humans, out of love for our fellow human beings can and have done quite a lot to save people from by our works, and not by idle faith without the work. God did afterall say, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth", which is, "work!" If Nigeria did more of such works of salvation instead of praying for the manna of salvation to fall from heaven as we do, our nation would be much more heavenly than the hell it currently is. One needs just look at nations that take this work approach and compare with those of faith to see the difference in development. Essentially, I am not against religion since for me it simply means 'school', and 'doing repeatedly'. But the curriculum needs to be the right curriculum, which in Christianese means based on the love and regard for that which is godly - as in good and proper for all - and the love of all human beings. A religion that fails to hold these tenets as given in the forefront of it's teachings is, as far as I am able to currently understand, not of Jesus Christ. |
