okoroemeka: I like how neatly arranged your farm is. But for speaking sake, there needs to be an alternative to bamboo, else we'll just realise bamboos r going into extinction 1 Like |

Yampotatocarrot:the man that has land behind our farm has given up the fight with bamboo and is begging us to finish the bamboo so he can use the land again, but how can we finish the bamboo,it's unfinishable it will full 2 trailer load if cut clearance and moreover the more u cut it the faster it grows.we call the place TIMBER SHED. 1 Like |

okoroemeka: Correct me if I'm wrong. You planted in the holes between beds and not on the beds. Considering that the rains are already here heavily, won't that affect the crops (flooding in the trench)? |

Yampotatocarrot:you are right but we will start harvesting February ending,so before the rains will come by March ending we have collected our cash and warming up to do ridges on the land. |

Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 11:53pm On Feb 02, 2019 |
johnnyblaze424:lowest we sold last year july-august is 2,500k,the low price is not caused by influx of cucumbers in the market but the presence of other competing fruits like mango, fresh corn, pear, garden eggs,WM,etc. 1 Like 1 Share |

preparing the mega nursery for 7000 plants in paper cups, the crops will stay 10-12 days before going to the field, many may question the need for such stress in doing a nursery, well we discovered that nematodes reduce the yield of cucumbers by 50%,so we used a super treated potting mix in the nursery and when it will be transferred to the field it will fumigate the soil very effectively it lasts 70days in soil, pls don't ask the name of the nematicide u can't find it in nigeria.we have plans of planting such every month and will increase the number when our mechanized equipment arrives, this will surely be an interesting year. 2 Likes 1 Share

the paper cup is also biogradable so when it's time to move to the field we will plant the crop with the cup inside the soil eliminating transplant shock. 4 Likes |

Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 5:34pm On Feb 10, 2019 |
FMCASH:stunted growth, yellow leafs, plant wilts when sun is shining and does not come back to normal even when irrigated,if u pull it up u will see round nodes on the roots and stem will be rotted, and if it eventually bear fruits u will only harvest max 3-4 times it will wilt and die off. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 9:38pm On Feb 10, 2019 |
Yampotatocarrot:now at the nursery, watering is done by light misting on top of the cups, but when it's put in soil heavy duty watering will commence, the paper cup will melt in 1 -2 days,it's just recycled paper mache cup made to desintergate if it meets water. |

Yampotatocarrot:no curative product is available for root nematodes only preventive,it's a very essential part of vegetable planting,if u use a good systemic nematicide on the soil you will not buy other insecticide again for around 50 days any insect that touches the plant will die at the spot.saves money on insecticide s and also time/labour on constant running around with knapsack 1 Like 2 Shares |

FMCASH:just apply it and water, then 2 days u put manure and plant, lasting of harvest depends on many factors, soil, variety, management etc,I have seen a farm that was harvested 4 times it die and I have seen a farm that was harvested 15 times before it died. 1 Like 1 Share |

Laugh wan kill me today,I sent videos of our land preparation to our foreign partners and Ithey can't believe what they saw ,one mean hungry guy dug 2,000 holes in 2 days it's incredible, they didn't believe it's humanly possible, they think we will relax and wait for the earth augers machine to arrive before we start work ,they are wrong, in Africa we have human bulldozers, human excavators and any variety of earth shaking and moving machines there is a human mutation for that in Africa. 8 Likes 2 Shares
