systemic means any material that is absorbed by a plant and it moves around a plant regardless of were it is applied,systemic fungicides like ridomilgold Li's preferred over contact fungicides like z force in the rainy season because the plant will absorbe the chemical and rainfall cannot wash it off it is also curative not only preventve,but contact only stays on the leaf surface and kills fungal spores,it is easily washed away.also systemic insecticide are also used for pests that hide in difficult to get places like leaf underside,inside fruits and stem borers,perfect for aphids,whiteflies etc.

oga okoroemeka, pls sir are saying when planting d cukes seed inside d hole we need to add not only cuke seed and manure but we equal need to add wormforce inside the planting hole along with seed and manure to help address d nematode. Is it so? Thanks

wormforce will be used if signs of nematodes shows on previous crop and also if the land is continuously cropped,but on virgin land its not necessary.

update on the 1500 cucumber crop farm,we started harvesting 18 DEC and we have harvested 5 times,I am still expecting to harvest 3-4 more times then the results will be tallied.on the sack farm we discovered that on trying to get maximum yield two crops per sack may cause competition for nutrients so we planted 1 crop per sack to see the maximum number of fruits that is physically possible to get from one plant.sack farm is 25 days today.

the harmattan dry winds are not helping matters,but we have squeezed out 40 bags from 5 harvests and still hope to get 20-30 bags more before it dies.its obvious we can't hit 100 bags due to several factors we have identified, we have reviewed our spacing and saw that we are wasting space,we have prepared another 1 plot that will be planted on Saturday,with 7-8 inches spacing per plant and 2 feet per row has got us 2500 crops,can we get 100 bags from this new project,there's no need to wait and see because we will.

Pics from madam Jethro's farm has sent us back to the drawing board,we found out that we are literally wasting space,hybrid cucumbers can tolerate extreme spacing even 6 inches interval per plant you can see for yourself as long as sufficient moisture, nutrient and good agricultural practice is in place.

the cucumbers harvested in the pics above is from madam Jethro's farm,just used it to show that tight spacing in cucumbers can yield abundantly, the 40 bags I am talking about is from the 1500 one plot project.

Waoh, this one us continuous rotation. But that one crop per sack seems farfetched for those of us that don't have too much space, and will like to maximise the little we have.

I didn't even see this before I commented about space. I still believe that if the spaces between sacks are reduced, more sacks will be accommodated.

With 2,500 crops, you should exceed 100 bags. I'll estimate 130 (+/-)

the sack farm is purely experimental,if I can get 10 fruits from 1 crop its better than planting 2 crop that will give 5 fruits each.

total number of sacks is 506 bags,the spacing is not much considering that we are using phostrogen fertilizer on it so we are expecting an explosion of foliage and lateral shoots.
