Free Conference?

"raised eyebrows"...

That means it is just a conference that doesnt make selections or any form of criterion.

Thats not very encouraging, but you have to attend your interview to know the outcome.

No travel history? Skeptical!

and sincerely , was it an agent that arranged this conference for you?

Looks unseen and not clear to me, not really seeing what could have gone wrong. This is the annual OTC in Houston every May, right? You guys didn't discuss travel history? Are you sure of a proper synchrony between your replies and the form filled? Is this your first time with them? Any relationship with Canada? Is your company credible, especially with past experiences with the embassy? I don't think single parenthood worked against you either. Dunno!

But I believe the inner workings of the process has something on you and your application....

I believe it’s this same conference the OP intends attending. It’s a huge and big one! He’s the one who needs to fit the bill.... I see he’s tried so far to a large extent to connect his field/work to the conference. Long way to go still methinks

I really wish him a positive outcome of the interview.
Don't be surprise to know that he will get the visa , some severe cases like this could just get the sympathy of the VO, mostly if it is Female VO, she could give him so as not to appear getting him his way in the future.

But a free Conference? That's why i have the biggest fear.

I have a doctor friend on LINKEDIN right now, He was chosen for a boot-camp organized by MIT and Havard, slated for June, it is worth 8000USD.

You can imagine.

Agent? No sir.

Gave my details and showed some things I have done with Aveva , Matlab, hysys, and some other engineering. Then they issued the letter judging by those information.

And yes, I wouldn't have traveled to anywhere as I have been busy with work. I don't have to lie..

No connections here sir.
I have done things in the field of engineering, simulation and modelling and reservoir design and some other very serious calculations. Recently, my company completed something for Total their e-Learning portal. Of which most of these things were included there as well. A company sending a staff to study more is joining and making it fit ?
Is this how you pray for downfall of people? Just asking.

Wondering though, where I just prayed for your/people’s downfall. Is English that difficult, is this a comprehension issue or what? OTP as a conference is not an issue here, your qualification for the visa should be your area of concentration is what I tried to say up there, even commended your efforts so far, and admonished you do more. Why then are you worked up and sounding defensive? That says something however. Not a good one, really! I even deliberately went to the past to point you in that direction per adventure that person’s transcript and the discussions around that area can be of help to you at all. I give up on you dude! Suit yourself.

Good day house, anyone encountered an error while filling scheduling appointment form, ''unable to add applicant because some or all information you entered belongs to another applicant."
how can one solve this error message?

Bro you have to look beyond that and I always wondered why people who earn so much (Work in good firm) find it hard to travel aboard meanwhile they believe it's absolute normal to travel to U.S without good travel history.

An agent told you to do something, that you know is a lie, you still go ahead and do it; and somehow coming clean will remedy the situation. "YOUR CREDIBILITY IS AT STAKE" was what I overheard at the US Embassy in Abuja. The only currency you have in this US Interview, is not your home ties but your CREDIBILITY.

credibility cannot out weight Home ties, What you decide to reveal about yourself is your decision, not a crime.
it is when you are not something and you say you are, or try to exaggerate your situation, which may favor you, this also fall within all things about the application..
Travel history
Ties
Educational qualification
Work

it is possible you add or remove , but home ties? How do you exaggerate it?

some one evaluate me... am going for B1 visa interview soon

I got a diversity scholarship by a top US IT firm to attend a fully funded seminar 6days by them(they aare paying for travel and accommodation, its stated on the invitation letter)

I have been to Australia, South Africa, Kenya and a transit through Ethiopia... I have never overstayed my visa and I have no plan to

I currently have less than 100k in my account and I make small money in a month...

just wondering what my chances are and if my account will affect the VO decision

Benefits of the Seminar?
Is there a certificate for it?
Does it upgrade your CV in anyway?
Does this travel history reflect on your present passport or it has been so many years ago?

They wont even look at your invitation letter, you have to explain what is in it to the VO.

What is the nature of your jOb?

How much do you earn?

The balance in your account presently doesn't matter!

Are you married with kids?

Hello everyone, good morning. Please a quick question in need of an urgent response. When a husband and wife apply for UK Visa, and they prefer their passport to be returned by courier. Do they pay for only one post or does it have to be 2 postages. I was thinking since they are a family and it’s going to the same address, one postage fee will do for both of them.

IF CREDIBILITY CANNOT OUTWEIGH HOMES TIES, WHY THEN ARE PEOPLE WITH STRONG HOME TIES, SOMETIMES, REJECTED - credibility. If home ties was all that matters, everyone who applies and has strong home ties, would always get the US Visa.

What you decide to reveal about yourself, is your decision, yes, but hiding material facts - that's a crime. This affects your credibility.

Since the cost of travel and accommodation has been covered by organisers of the seminar then I think most likely the VO might not request a statement of account from you. But nevertheless just take it with you as a precaution and present it only when asked to. Concentrate more on how to answer questions concerning your home ties and how the seminar might be of a benefit to you when asked. Good luck

What qualified you for the Australian visa and what did you go there to do? That maybe a major overriding advantage canceling some of your shortcomings. Despite the inadequacies one can see here and there, I won’t dare write this off! And yes, this kind of case can make the VO look into an IV at all....

Hello Nlders and the gurus in the house.

Please i would like to ask a question. If one just got a visa, intending date of travel is May, and the passport is expiring in June. Please what do i do? do i need to get a new passport before travel, and if that is the case, the old passport would have been cancelled with out prejudice, does this affect the valid visa in it? please advise on how to approach this.

thank you.
