I don't know if this juju thing is real or not but from personal experience I think when people don't understand how a sytem works they tend to ascribe it to supernatural.

I've known myself to be smart from a tender age; I learn new things fast and with normal basic resources available to study for a test or exam, I pass with a wide gap compared to my friends.

I was one of the two people in my public secondary school that had complete O'level results out of over 500 candidates that year. My mum feels it's divine favour.

I got the university scholarship at the end of my first year with Cgpa of 4.0 and above and our names were published inside punch newspapers. My old woman ascribed it to God's grace and prayers that influenced the supernatural.

I graduated atop my class tho with 2.1 ;few points away from first class, my mama says it's cos am destiny child (destiny child wey no enter class, read Pali to Pali, know when to give brain rest etc ; that one go pass?)

Little did mama know her boy is a smart boy who knows he assimilates only during the day and makes use of the day for reading without forcing it at night. What she doesn't know is this boy studies past questions prior to exams, drafts out possible exam questions, sets mock exams for himself and even reads articles written by the lecturer on the various topics to get to know their mindset.

My má is oblivious of the fact that the boy dey shack better manya like other students who finished with third class.

Funny I even get to see some of the Goodluck charm rings my friends plan to wear a day before the exams and I just laugh. Despite we ring those rings and bathing soaps (they confess this during drinking sessions), the best amongst them graduated with the lowest grades under 2.2 class.

Maybe some of them bought fake juju, but one of them is a core Islander who hails from one of the popular families in Lagos; in fact he carries the ẹyọ masquerade. He claims his supplier potent die. But my guy had to go sort one lecturer to save him from finishing with third class after our second semester 400l results were initially released.

Maybe juju indeed exists and maybe supernatural influences the physical but I've seen people rely on those two clutching at straws trying to stay afloat while those who are real and follow verifiable methods/ processes having good things coming their way.

ibime, I read through your submission on MFM as a church and it’s aversion towards medical practice, and I can tell you for free that it is all lies and down to ignorance like one person posited up there.

I’m a Youth Pastor in MFM and have been with the church since 12 years now. All Regions and zones down to branches of the MFM has a Medical Unit/Group headed by medical doctors/health practitioners that caters for sickness and health related issues within the church and it’s members. Health issues are also referred to hospitals when the church unit cannot handle it.

Aside my region In Portharcourt here I reside, I have been to Warri MidWest region 1 where I served during NYSC, Umuahia Region in Abia State where I schooled, and other regions as well as Zones of the MFM where I go for ministrations have medical units as well as clinics that attends to health matters.

I was sincerely shocked by what you wrote up there. Even the General Overseer DK Olukoya preaches healthy living as well as the power of God to heal.

So, when we pray for you say you have headache, we also refer you to the regional medical clinic for further medications. If it remains same, that person is referred to a reputable hospital.

No mfm member would deny medications due to what was preached on the altar. It’s not our thing.

When you go for prayers and the pastor says "you are healed" is that not deception of the highest order? A good percentage of your church members will go away and take that as final.

All this one you are typing is just church PR. We know a good percentage of your congregation will die the matter after pastor says they are healed.
