Jesus appeared to the disciples after his ressurection, ate with them, and told thomas to touch him and the marks of nails and speare. He even said spirits do not have flesh and bones as he had after ressurection. I think the problem here is, 'spirit' and 'spiritual' for instance jesus told nicodemus, 'he that is born of flesh is flesh and of spirit is spirit'. Not spiritual. Spirits do not have material body but jesus showed up in a body different from a spirit's. So, his new body and those at ressurection of saints could be different from what we now know.
