Schemerkhiz:
Uchenna Grace Kanu
Jersey no.12
Date of birth: 20.06.1997 (21yrs)
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 66 kg
Position: Striker
Club: Southeastern University, USA.
FIFA World Cup Appearances: ( Debut )

A versatile attacker, Kanu is capable of playing on either wing as well as through the centre of the pitch, and while ostensibly left-footed, she's very strong with both feet. She is ranks among the world's young fastest female footballers, both with and without the ball.
The Abia, Nigeria native set a new NAIA single-season record in goals scored with 57 goals netted this past season, which helped Kanu to earn the distinction of being the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NAIA Player of the Year. During her three years at Southeastern, women's soccer player Uchenna Kanu has scored 115 goals and has recorded 32 assists. She has been The Sun Conference Player of the Year each of the last two seasons, First Team All-Conference the past three seasons, and was a First Team NAIA All-American this past season. She has developed a muscular body type that allows her to retain possession of the ball, and strong legs that make up for an outstanding jumping ability. Her strength and jumping ability, combined with her elevation, heading accuracy, and height of 1.76m, gives her an edge in winning aerial challenges for balls. These attributes allow her to function as a target-woman, and make her an aerial goal threat in the penalty area; consequently, many of her goals have been headers. Allied with her increased stamina and work-rate, her goalscoring ability improved drastically on the left wing where she has been given the positional by SEU Coach freedom to move into the centre to finish attacks. She has increasingly played a creative role for her team, often dropping deep to pick up the ball, participate in the build-up of plays, and create chances for her teammates, courtesy of her good vision and passing ability.
She also played for Pensacola FC in the WPSL in 2018. She has been the best U21 Women Footballer in Africa for over 3 years now. She is a Complete Striker.
She is been referred to as the Female Ronaldo by her Nigeria Followers after winning the golden boot at the 2019 WAFU Cup edition scoring 10goals in 5games.

Strength- Good Height, Strong player, Good header, Uses both feet effectively, Deadly in front of goal, Freekick Specialist, Fast Player, Skillful and a Good Passer, Selfless player (Team player), Accurate Shooting.

Weaknesses —Could be selfish with the ball.

Good to see the team has settled in in Reims. Had light training this morning according to Ann Odong, @fifawwc_nga. She is really on her game when it comes to updating about Super Falcons in France. Give her a follow.

Also, I think it is shameful that NFF employed Jane Nweze as team spox and reporter, but she is not doing her job well at all. This team deserves a media savvy, enthusiastic person as spox. It is a shame that all of NFF's appointed team media officers are just there by name. You only see them at press conferences.

Go Super falcons.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 7:05pm On Jun 05, 2019
Desire Oparanozie
Jersey no.9
Date of birth: 17-12-1993 (25yrs)
Height: 170cm
Position: Forward
Club: En Avant Guingamp, France
FIFA World Cup Appearances: (2011, 2015)

Oparanozie (The Team Captain) is primarily a no.9, she is a prolific goalscorer, who is best known for her technique, creativity, strength, ability in the air, and her powerful and accurate striking ability.
If there is any Nigerian player that the French defenders would keep an eye on it will be Oparanozie. The former Delta Queens attacker burst into national limelight in 2008 when she represented Nigeria in the colors of the U-17 National female team-The Flamingoes in New Zealand.
In spite of her size and physique, Oparanozie possesses excellent technique and ball control, which, coupled with her balance, power, and physicality, enables her to hold up the ball well with her back to goal, retain possession, and link up with other players; she has also been praised by pundits for her creativity and dribbling skills
A versatile and well-rounded footballer, from a tactical standpoint, Oparanozie uses both feets effectively and is capable of playing anywhere along the front line, due to her ability to both create and score goals for her team, although she is most often deployed as a no.9 due to her Physic, composure and eye for goal.

Strengths: Physical, Experience, Passion, Fearlessness, relentlessness, and she is also known for her accuracy from penalties and dead ball situations.

Weakness/es: Heavy and sometimes considered slow.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz:
Asisat Lamina Oshoala
Jersey no.8
Date of Birth: 09-10-1994 (24yrs)
Club: Barcelona FC, Spain
Height: 173 cm
Position: Striker
FIFA World Cup Appearances: (2015)

A lot has been said about the playing career of Asisat Oshoala. Armed with a rich C.V that boasts of three Africa female player awards, one World Cup appearances and one of Africa’s bestgoal scorer in the women’s game, She's Often considered one of the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest female players to come out of Africa, Oshoala who is 24 years old is getting hotter and hotter. Playing in her Second World Cup final, Oshoala would be the rallying point for the Falcons in their quest to surpass their quarter final ticket.
A versatile striker , Oshoala is capable of playing on either wing as well as through the centre of the pitch, and, while ostensibly right-footed. She ranks among the world's fastest footballers, both with and without the ball.
She Isn't a typical centre-forward" as she likes to drop deep or go wide in order to find space, Oshoala has fast pace and excellent technique, and few defenders could keep up with her. Although tall and slender, she is also physically strong. Her dribbling ability and performance of tricks allows her to cut through from the right or left in order to score or create goalscoring opportunities for teammates. The Ikorodun born uses her speed for beating opponents and has excellent crossing ability. Her creativity is exceptional when in possession of the ball. During a counterattack she is a big threat, because of her intelligent runs.

Oshoala is regarded as African's most successful female footballer and she will be aiming to help Nigeria go past the group stage for the first time in five outings at the 2019 Women's World Cup, which takes place from June 7 - July 7.

Strengths — Good speed, deadly in front of goal and full of energy, Confident, Inspirational, ability to score goals at ease.

Weaknesses —Could be selfish with the ball, and tends to go solo

I see a lot of people hyping Uchenna KANU... I do not know if these people realise she is only playing college football currently.

You see, rating her over Oparanozie, or any other experienced player plying their trade in established leagues seems RUSHED, she definitely has a lot to learn, and should be allowed to do it ONE AT A TIME.

But don't also forget the Kanu played in the Nigeria Women football League before moving to the US and she's currently the best in whole of USA in terms of players in the University...

I think this is to quell any bad blood in the team. Obviously the so called old players have not been able to agree on captain, and captaincy is not by age actually. It is by leadership on and off the pitch. Maybe Dennerby has seen that Oparanozie and Oshoala have shown good team spirit and always put teams first.

Boss, you know Naija now, she is just there due to connection and more concerned about personal benefits than the job or the uplifting of the profession.

Onome Ebi is the older player and she also is the better player. Bench Chikwelu and give the legend her band simple as that. First African player to play 5 world cup and not the captain?

If not give Oshoala the band so they can all rest.

These things are more complicated than you think. Look at Mikel vs Musa for eagles too.

I agree but the coach would have made things better by making a firm singular decision from the beginning.

Referee watch. An Australian will be in charge of our match with plenty VAR officials. She was top referee in Australia and hopefully she's going to be professional.

Africans and set piece awful defending like 5$6

What baffles me most is dt ,dey play and train with deir colleagues, yet dey re still poor,is it dt when dey abt having special drills for set piece, d clubs excuse African players? undecided
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by CoolJulian:
This set piece issue is really serious o!... I've noticed this problem with African teams generally, which makes me wonder whether they do not practice it together with their European counterparts, as a lot of them play for European clubs.

Super Falcons are never exempted from this problem; they cannot defend set pieces to save their lives, they can not take it either, even with this European coach, the story is the same. If they do not improve significantly, I'm afraid they might just be coming back after group stages, because Europeans will want to exploit this weakness.

......I hereby ask,COULD THIS ABILITY BE LINKED WITH GENETICS?

It's all about team discipline. Set piece is the time the whole team should be on same page. As Africans we know we like flare and are undisciplined. Even Cameroon played so well in their friendly with Spain but every set piece was a mess. Either keeper comes out too early and misses, or players lose concentration and don't track their opponents.
I think zonal marking will be easier for Africans as the don't have to worry about tracking players. All they need is to control the some the coach puts them.
If we don't concede from our first set piece tomorrow I'll be really happy.

Another big factor is that our players are just not tall enough. They play against giants sometimes and it is almost impossible. We are also reluctant to head the ball at the highest point. Lastly our attackers should do more and see defending set pieces as part of their job. Oshoala needs to mark players on corners and also Desire.

Womens world cup starts today!!! I am quite happy and buzzing for it.

In few hours, France will play South Korea. While most people are expecting an easy win for France, I fear they may become complacent. I hope VAR works well to reduce racist officiating that Nigeria had to endure for years. I will be at an official meeting by the time France kicks off, but 'll be watching every action online. May the best team win.

As for Dennerby, lighten up man and put a surprising and interesting team out tomorrow. Time to believe!
