Hi guys,

I went to the UK this time last year ,
I plan on going to the UK as a tourist by December,
I currently earn 300,000 naira as salary before tax, and a yearly pension of 240,000.

I have a budget of 700K for my trip, here is my budget breakdown.

Flight ticket (to and fro): 215000 already paid
Accommodation : hotel booking 180000, not paid for yet
Feeding, Transportation and other miscellaneous expenses : 305,000

The problem is, I am currently saving (700k) for this trip from my salary on a financial platform called CowryWise.

My question is, Will the embassy recognize this financial institution saving my money?

2. Do I stand a good chance to get a Visa based on this information provided!

Congrats and thanks for sharing. I noticed you used self service. If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate if you could please list the documents you uploaded for your application and what categories you chose for each. My brother is also applying for a visit visa and this new self upload system is driving us mad. Thanks.

Good afternoon Everyone.

Thank you so much for your help on this platform.

Please, I intend to travel to the UK with my mother. My mother has been issued a Visa already but I am yet to apply because of the delay in receiving my passport. Now my passport has been issued.

My question is that I want to state that I will spend 2 weeks in the UK based on the recommendation of other users on this platform for an applicant that has not been issued a visa before but my concern is that my mother stated that she intends to spend 3 weeks and will be travelling with me when she applied for her visa.
Now I am concerned that the ECO will wonder why we are both travelling together but we are returning back to Nigeria on separate dates.

Please is it safe to state the 3 weeks to correspond with my mother's application?

Thank you in anticipation.

What did i need to consider for the changed of circumstance?

You mentioned in your application that you got employed in 2016 and you have been saving 180,000 naira every month ,so how do you come about 1million plus in your account ? I think it could have being higher than your balance now. Nevertheless your balance was not the problem ,you could have stated or shown what you have used out of your balance for ...probably before the seven month bank statement....your bought, that can match up the exact amount minus the balance..you can shown some receipts for it.

Try and bring your budget to 600-650 by reducing your feeding and transportation cost.

Your salary is not bad , explain in your form that you used CowryWise to save money for the trip, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Nobody can tell if you have good chances or not, just put in a good application

Where does the issue of monthly disposable income come in, since everyone has monthly expenses? Sometimes ECOs consider applications from that angle too. My thoughts though.

this budget can be reduced in relation to his salary..... and also what did he fill as his disposable income per month? As that’s the amount that would be used against his trip cost not the 185k

His monthly expenses is just 65k reason being that his wife is also employed and do support financially and moreso he doesnt pay house rent . Therefore he has about 120k left every month. His opening balance was 1.1M and Presently having a closing balance of 1.180m as of today.

@justwise

As regard your refusal there are some unexplainable money that comes to your account which is not relating to your salary. U did not explain the money to them that was why u were denied. Next application u will have to explain to the ECO all the credits u did not declare with proof. Check the statement of account and sort out all the big money and know how it came in and explain.

Hi Sir,
Thanks for this advice,
I have canceled my hotel booking which was far from London and opted to use Airbnb to a more central location, this has greatly reduced my accommodation and travel budget, my new budget has now reduced to 550K, and my monthly expenses are on an average 70k Per month.
