Thanks brother.
I have ordered the notes but it will be too to reapply considering the 30days for gcms notes. Sch resumes sept 1st. I submitted my stmtof 4mths...although no balance but turnover was 3.8m. We are not allowed in my office to use our salary acc for other purposes apart from salary si i cant put any funds there. So i kept 4m (14k$) in tbill which i submitted.
The balance of my tuition and LE (30k) was in my sponsor acc which has a total of 33kusd wc is equivalent 4kcanadian $.

Who is your sponsor to you? If not your parents or sibling I will advise you move the funds to your personal account, if you can't use your salary bank account then use another (I believe you have another account that's not salary related). The reason people include salary account is just to see that you have been receiving salary for a while(simple payslip will cover that). Move your funds to your personal bank account (not salary account) and that should be okay. As for the treasury bills, you are good to go as long as you have prove that you can have access to it once your TRV is ready (get a letter to that effect if possible). If you are not in a hurry I will advise you wait for your gcms note before reapplying but if you are in a hurry then reapply now(share your profile here before reapplying so we can also make some contributions to it)

thank you very much for your response, sire umulobi, the officer that handled my file is the 2IC, . What channel please kindly assist.

No officer here is known as 2IC.2IC generally means 2nd in command. So there could be many 2IC's here because every department/section has an OC and a 2IC.I am even a 2IC in my department. You supposed to have known the name of the officer by looking at his name tag.Try and get his name and send it across privately .

Thanks for your response.

I explained in the sop yhe need to further my education. I explained my gap showing my work experience whc started immediately after nysc. I work as an audit trainee for 6mths b4 joining the bank where i still work till date. During all these period too i studied and got certified with ACCA and NIM.
I am presently seeking to study my msc in finance since i want to focus now on investment banking. All these i explained in the sop.
I submitted my account stmt of 4mths although i dont have much closing bal but turnover was 3.8m. I added my tibilk certificate of 4m to cover my LE and that of my 2yr son who is accompling me.

My sponsor account has 33k$ to cover the bal of my tuition of 22k$.

My bank doesnt give leave letter...but only letter of introduction which i also submited.

So far with the information provided, your app seems good. To avoid assumptions, the gcms notes would pervade more light when it arrives.

All the best!

It is a complicated issue with CIC (Canadian immigration centre) going for a program you are passionate in and going for a program that depicts a reasonable expense. Some might say a convincing sop(Statement of purpose) will do but my simple advice for you will be to enrol for an academic program that shows progression from your previous studies and then look to pursue your fashion design ambitions on the side in Canada.

Hey folks,

I will be glad if someone can advice me on this. I intend applying for a masters program in eHealth, September, 2020 intake and in a few weeks the admission process starts. I am married with no kids and certainly will be taking my wife along when the time comes but I am concerned about the best approach to take. I read there are two ways one can go about this:

1. You can apply to get the study permit first, then later your spouse can apply to come join you.

2. You can do joint application, which means both can go at the same time.

In my situation, the only possible way for me is to do a joint application as I can't leave without my wife.

So for those that have gone through this process, what is the best option you advice especially as it concerns applicants coming from Nigeria who usually have a high visa application scrutiny and high denial rates?

Also I will like to ask if it is possible that my co-sponsor (father) can also act as a sponsor for my spouse since I will be doing a joint application?

Please I will be glad to get suggestions and feedback on these issues I raised.

Thank you very much.

Hello Mizfancy,

In as much there are schools in Canada that technical and skilll acquisition course/centers, and irrespective of some people has scaled through with this, this might not be the best program or study path to approach if you want to use the study route for migration. Logically, its a program of studies recognized by the VO but technically, this might be very difficult in convincing the VO you're a genuine student who can offfset the cost of such expensive studies after the program, whereby, there are even more better and cheaper skill acquisition centers in your home country.

This choice program of yours can be made more or very easy if you can demonstrate that:

1. You've attained some level of education in your country, especially in the field of your prospect program - formal education.

2. You can prove your level of establishment in your home country.

3. Who would be your sponsor, either parent most favourable.

4. The source of funds and how would be made available for your studies. There must be a show of commitment.

5. Any acquired certification/certificate regarding this program - informal education.

6. If you can draw out a future project in your home country that such knowledge would be imported to.

Also, you may want to look up the schools in Canada that have skill acquisition programs carefully on IRCC website, not all or most don't offer a PGWP to international students.

BTW you have more higher chances going for a related field in Business Administration i.e. Global Resources Management, Management Studies etc. than Fashion school or program. You can always chase your fashion education in Canada after the necessary has been done, not only to get there, but most importantly, settled in comfortably.

Good luck!

It's good you are asking questions and making plans. However, every application is unique in terms of content and perception in the eye of a Visa officer. With the information you've provided my advice/comment will be;

1. Your wife seems to be the only factor that csn compel you to return, and the fact that you'll be going with her may weaken your home ties. Non the less applicants have scalled through in the past.

2. The fact that you require financial aid as a Married man may put a VO off and not only weaken your financial stance but also further prove to the vo of the probably of you departing Canada at the end of your studies.

Nothing is impossible it's just a matter of chances, luck and how you package your application. If you have assets, Business etc that can compel you to return you can mention for further advice. Also you need to research on your proposed program.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by AkeemTy(m): 6:03pm On Jun 30, 2019
Thank you for your feedback. I do have a business I can include in my application but the financial standing of the business is not so great. In terms of sponsorship, it will be self and co-sponsor (father) as his business is buoyant financially. It will be hard to leave my wife behind because she is not a Nigerian and does not have anyone here to look after her. I am hoping strongly my application scales through when the time comes. Thanks once again.

Very Long Post Alert

"It's outrageous you had to go through that, did you record it on video so you could report them?" was what my fiancee asked me over a call at 20:47 hrs on Tuesday 11 June, 2019.

We were speaking over a whatsapp video call, the power in my area was out as usual, I had my phone on my left hand and with my right hand I held a flashlight over my head so she could see my face.

Earlier that day I had been to the bank to make payment into my domiciliary account for my tuition fees, the deadline for the first term fees was looming and I hadn't heard anything concrete from the embassy since my medical was updated to 'passed'. The bank was crowded and the air freshener was either not working or they mopped the floor with body odour because it stank, I had to stand for four hours whilst dealing with unpertubed bank staffs whose response to customers with special request was "the server is down".

Four hours later, I had completed my objective. I drove out of the bank's car park exhausted and hungry, I just wanted to go home eat and sleep.

Suddenly some men in casual clothing jumped in front of my vehicle and ordered me to stop, is this a robbery? I thought to myself. They had no guns on them but they looked raggedy, I was perplexed, what is happening? They were all trying to speak at the same time and it was difficult to hear them, in the multitude of words being spoken i picked out a sentence "Why you pass one way?" Their claim was i just drove against traffic, I looked behind me to be sure it was me they were referring to, Ah! me, drive against traffic ke" did this happen In a parallel universe and I'm being picked up in this one or was this a case of mistaken identity? I could not comprehend. Before I could say CIC, one of them had hopped into the passenger seat and was screaming "ooya drive to our office". Ah! Office kill you there. Just like a veil removed from the face of a bride, hunger cleared from my eyes. I switched attitude on them, they must be taking my gentleness for foolishness. I try to avoid confrontation as much as possible, call me a phlegmatic yes! na me be that but this one was beyond me, I didn't drive against traffic, I detest people who do that so where is this accusation coming from? We screamed at the top of our voices, sprayed each other's faces with saliva, today's war is a battle of the most hydrated. How can you arrest me for an offence I didn't commit? I will not be taken advantage of, never going to happen.

Two gallons of saliva later, their argument was I drove against traffic because I used the wrong exit from the bank, ah! See me see wahala, how is my driving on a private property (inside somebody's compound) a government matter. I no gree ooo, they wasted my time and threatened me with towing and impounding my vehicle, I told them I was waiting and they should hasten the process, they realised I wasn't falling for their tactics so they switched up on me and said they were going to call their boss and it's going to be very bad for me, I asked them to add the governor to the list because I was sure he will be reasonable enough to know I didn't drive against traffic. Oh! they raged even harder, saying I called them dumb but I wasn't moved.

Thirty minutes and six additional threats later, they realised "this one na Lagos boy o" they then asked politely that i "sort them out as per boys boys level" and they'll be on their way. Ehn! Thunder Sort you there ಠ_ಠ . I looked at them and shook my head, look what my beloved country has become. I was just done with all the nonsense, I had reached my peak. Bully, extortion, unchecked crime, lack of electricity, noise pollution, bad roads.

CIC has to answer me by fire or by force, and.... then it happened;

Visa Approval after 19 weeks of application

Online route
Applied February 18, 2019
Biometrics wasn't required as I had previously applied in 2015
Background completed February 18, 2019
Eligibility started May 6, 2019
Eligibility passed May 6, 2019
Medical request mail May 6, 2019
Medical done May 28, 2019
(I was in the Netherlands when the mail dropped, I had the option to go for my medical examination in Amsterdam but the Ijebu in me will not let me, when I called Amsterdam I was told it will cost me 300euros. The price made me humbly call IOM in Ikeja and I booked for 42k approximately 100euros)
Medical Passed May 31, 2019
I sent Kenya an email @7am June 11, 2019
to inquire about my application, I complained that i passed my medicals 2 weeks ago and I hadn't gotten an update since.
"Application approved, Passport request" @10am June 11, 2019
submitted passport same day June 11, 2019
Passport delivered & stamped June 27, 2019

My story began in 2013, in the then 'travelling to Canada' part 5 thread. I had just graduated and my plan was to go to canada the next fall 2014. I obviously wasn't ready at that time as I didnt even know what documents to submit. Two years on and I had read the thread from part 1, it was enlightening and I had learnt so many things in that period. I was very confident and ready to apply or so I thought, I was active on the thread, confident of my preparation and documents, I was cocky. I applied in June, 2015 and the wait started, I was on the thread running my mouth up and down and in August I was denied. It was a huge blow "i never experred it" (This CIC people know how to humble persin), there was no motivation anymore, and I couldn't even contribute to the thread.

I ordered my gcms note, it came a month later and the reasons were lame but I already had other commitments at that time so I didn't reapply but I stayed on the thread to keep myself updated.

2019 was going to be my year, I was ready. I had done my homework, I worked harder on the arrangement of my documents. I made my application easier to understand, I labelled documents when they weren't clear enough or if it was going to make my application complicated, my SOP was 2 pages long but it was detailed.

My profile;
Bachelor of Architecture
Applied for construction project management
Fanshawe College fall 2019

Documents submitted
CIC Documents
- IMM 5257B (Application for Temporary Residence)
- IMM 1294E (Application for Study Permit Made Outside Of Canada)

2 page detailed and precise SOP explaining purpose of visit, and home ties

Academic Documents
1. Admission letter
2. Degree certificate,
3. Academic transcript
4. WAEC Certificate
5. Publication on housing deficit in Nigeria

Employment Documents
1. Employment letter
2. Payslips
3. Letter of Introduction
4. Letter of promotion
5. Updated resume

Home ties
1. Proof as a board member of a company.
2. Proof as a first son and what it means for my family's business.

Sponsor's documents
Sponsor; My dad
1, International Passport
2. Statement of account
3. Letter of sponsorship
4. CAC of his business
5. Landed documents

Personal documents
1. Data page of international passport & visa pages for travel history
2. Birth Certificate
3. Statement of purpose (although 2 pages, I addressed the vagueness of my first application by being precise and straight forward)

Fanshawe college students or London, Ontario residents link up abeg I need to sort out my accommodation.

Thanks to God Almighty for the gift of life
@Thesoj it's my time now bro.
Thank you everyone here.
