bigglenn12: I strongly doubt about the feasibility of this your plan. 1) I don't think you can work if your course of study is less than 14 weeks. You can find more details on this link. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/options/study/working-during-after-your-study/working-on-a-student-visa 2) To be qualified for a post study work visa I think you need to have studied at least a level 4 course. You can check this link for more details. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/tools-and-information/work-and-employment/how-long-you-can-work-on-a-post-study-work-visa 1 Like |

davodyguy: It will be mostly cold morning and evening and warm afternoon I guess. You should be alright bro. I've had reasons to be in Auckland around those seasons on few occasions without any form of jacket( just t-shirts) |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by ugsams(m): 2:24pm On Jul 07, 2019 |
Weather in Hamilton, Waikato right now is around 8°C and we are supposed to be in winter... It's not too cold up here in the North Island. The last time it was 0°C here was last 2 weeks

ugsams:Great. I need ideas of fun places to visit for 2 consecutive days. Like beach, zoo, museum, historical sites, train tour etc I had so much fun when I was in Sydney in 2017, I want to relive those memories. Any suggestions and what it would likely cost? I'll be staying on Wakefield Street, Auckland 1010 CBD, you can know where to recommend I visit Thanks |

Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by femijck(m): 9:09pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
davodyguy:if u go through Perth, u wil need a transit visa for Australia.... Tell ur agent or whoever to route u through Honk kong instead of Perth . SAA also have that route. Just re-route |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by davodyguy: 9:34pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
femijck: I see, But I read somewhere that if we remain on airside and not stay beyond 8:00hours, we would not need a transit. I just check SA now, they said we're stopping over in Pert for 7hrs:15m Should we be worried? |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by femijck(m): 9:44pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
davodyguy: Alright mate, Upto u what u decide......but if I were u, I will go for certainty than risking not being allowed to board on your travel date. The only non- transit visa required route I know of are Honk kong and Bangkok Thailand. |

Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by davodyguy: 10:43pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
femijck: I see. I will send an email to SAA ASAP for clarification, if not I can apply for transit Visa myself. I was given AU visa in 2017 and didn't violate their rules, so I think there would be no issue apply for Transit Visa. One of the benefits I enjoy is having my Visa come early and ample time to prepare |

Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by ugsams(m): 10:51pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
davodyguy: Bro, according to what you posted this is what they said about Perth. Passengers transiting at Perth airport (PER) will need an appropriate visa for Australia if flights are departing from different terminals. are you transiting through different terminals? If yes, then apply for a transit visa as fast as possible. In fact, I think it's safe to apply for a transit visa whether different terminals or not. Just in case of any irregularities. It should be easy for you since you were in Australia for the same conference few years ago. They will see some consistency in your travel history and shouldn't be difficult to get. However, if the price difference with other airlines is not much just go for some other one that won't need to transit through Australia. |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by davodyguy: 10:59pm On Jul 12, 2019 |
femijck:Thanks to you, that encouraged us to apply early. My experience I would share below. I've been getting PMs from Nairalanders and I always direct them to this thread so we can get it more interactive. My application was submitted on Tuesday 11th June, 2019. I was contacted by case officer on Wednesday 19th, June 2019 requesting for more information. Between 19th and 27th we were having back and forth exchanges o we the information required, but was able to scale through on 27th June, when officer said he's satisfied with the information I've provided. Next was making payment to VFS in Pretoria for Passport handling fees. Sent them Sterling bank debit card details, it failed Sent them Zenith Bank debit card details, it failed. Went to my bank to do Form M according to CBN rules, I was declined the usage. On Monday 1st July, 2019 I opened a dollar denominated Account and did international transfer. The money entered the VFS account on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2019. They sent my Passport to Immigration NZL embassy in Pretoria on Thursday 4th, July, 2019. By Friday, 5th July, 2019 My Visa was granted. That's how the journey has been. I sent passport via UPS, paid ₦14,500 Same UPS picked passport from SA at a cost of ₦18,000 Purpose of travel is to attend 11th ICVPME, in Auckland, this year. That's my story, for anyone interested in visiting NZL Thanks to Femi, Ugsam and others that we've been chatting on this thread since December, 2018 1 Like |
