and scroll down to applying within the UK. It will ask you basic questions, you Pay visa fee and send passport and birth certificate. As I said the proof of it is lying beside me right now grin Also I don’t think it ‘changed’ because the VO upon arrival at the border reminded me to do it. Did it in 2018. Last year.

Again the rule is not for children born while you were in the UK. For those you can apply for them from here. It’s the same BRB we have that she has.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Thanks I check it out and good to hear it been changed

Thanks for the link but this referes to children born here

Children born while you’re in the UK... means children born in the UK not outside

Also it states full UK birth certificate

UK birth certificate means this screen shot relates to kids born in the UK

You’re assuming that my sister. The Quote does not mean : ‘Children Born IN THE UK while YOU are in the UK’. It simply means what is says: ‘Children BORN while you were in the UK’ where they were born was never mentioned
. You added that one yourself grin

Anyway, the poster can spend her money and time and call home office. I did it. So. Nothing much to prove here. Cheers.

Actually it is English ooo. Born while you are in UK means you are physically present is UK. Also it follows by saying you MUST present a full UK birth certificate. Again for you to have that, the baby was physically born here and so is the mother . A child born outside the UK cannot have a UK birth certificate hence you see the word MUST

But i hear you . If you speak on experience then nobody can argue with that. That facts and you state 2018 that current

I understand. We were legally resident in the UK. Baby was born in America. We applied using her US birth certificate and passport. They gave us her brp. At no point was it made to look like a hard thing or something unusual.

Which is why I refer to the meaning of the quote stated. Tbh I didn’t even google it before applying, I just did. I think sometimes we overthink things. It’s not that complicated truly smiley

Oga Justwise thanks for your advice on my UK passport interview last month. Now, I have my UK passport grin
My appreciation also goes to all the gurus using their time to help others here.
Please, I intend travelling to UK tonight and would like to know if presenting a Nigerian passport is required by immigration at the airport.

I ask because I don't own a Nigerian passport ATM. A new one is still in process as the one i had got missing over a year ago.
I have an old Nigerian passport and an international driver's license issued here. Will that suffice, thanks!
Congratulations! Glad it pans out well, just present your British passport when you get to immigration, they wouldn’t stop you from boarding.

Get your Nigerian passport though because it makes things easier when visiting Nigeria.

Thank you boss. I really appreciate...I was becoming concerned because some folks said I would need to show a Nigerian passport too.

Do not divorce.

Return home and apply for the spousal visa.
If you are denied over the supposedly lie, you can then fight to up turn it.
Nobody may even notice the mistake, could be considered honest mistake with the drop down answers in the application.

LuvlyIva:

Many thanks. But divorcing my wife just because of this lie. Divorce takes a long time. What do you think please?

I am not overstaying again, not easy here overstaying.

Clever idea if you asked me, that wouldn't stop them from visiting US or living there in future if them want. The tax system is ridiculous.

The only major developed nation that taxes its citizens (and green card holders) regardless of where they live is the United States. So long as you hold a U.S. passport or green card, the Internal Revenue Service wants its cut of your profits and capital gains.

The United States taxes all U.S. persons on their worldwide income. A U.S. person is a citizen, green card holder (who is a legal resident but not necessarily present in the United States), and residents. A resident is anyone who spends more than 183 days a year in the United States.

Although i dont know much on this topic, Uk guidance is always so clear and online. Love the Uk immigration for that . I went to check and i dont think the law mandate both parents ........ ..... Watch out for the key word Sole responsibility . So the father doesnt have to be if the Mother can show proof that she has sole responsibility for the child . At least that how i read it . The rules will not want to encourage one parent kidnapping a child from the other and running off but if the mother/ father has sole custody then there is no case of kidnapping

Copy and Paste from the guidance document
For any dependant child applying;
• both of the applicant’s parents must either be lawfully present (other than as a visitor) in the UK,
or being granted entry clearance or leave to remain (other than as a visitor) at the same time as
the applicant; or
one parent must be lawfully present (other than as a visitor) in the UK and the other is being
granted entry clearance or leave to remain (other than as a visitor) at the same time as the
applicant, unless:
o The Main Applicant is the applicant’s sole surviving parent, or
o The Main Applicant is the parent that has and has had sole responsibility for the applicant’s
upbringing; or

o there are serious or compelling family or other considerations which would make it desirable
not to refuse the application and suitable arrangements have been made in the UK for the
applicant’s care.
