The next morning was rather cold in the entire mansion. William was already dressed up and prepared to leave. He was sitting in the dinning table after a good breakfast and reading a newspaper. He had been waiting for Susan when George came to the dinning table. He had a slice of bread and picked up his tea cup, silence between them for a while. Finally, Will broke it.

"Listen George, about last night"

"What about it?" He asked and took a sip.

"Look, I'm your elder brother, and I love you. I won't deceive you. There's no point keeping a woman who is a threat to your family, in your home. Even if she isn't your mistress, you still can't deny the fact that she's causing serious problem between you, your wife and your daughter. Susan has already threatened to leave. Wouldn't it be better for you to just get the lady out of here and keep your family intact?"

"Are you done?" He asked nonchalantly and put down his cup, surprising Will again "Listen William" he continued "I appreciate your efforts as an elder brother, but I'm not a child. I know what I'm doing. I won't have an innocent girl sent away all because of some stupid suspicions. Moreover, doing that will only make me look like I really have an affair with her, I won't do that"

"What's even your problem George? Why are you always acting like a blockhead? This is your family were talking about here! So this girl has really blinded your sense of reasoning, eh? Open your eyes George and do the right thing!"

"You do the right thing Will, stop drooling over my wife and face yours!"

"Jesus Christ!" Will was taken aback.

"Yes, don't think I don't know you have eyes on Susan. Just go away and mind your family, please" he took the last sip and stormed out.

William shook his head and narrowed his eyes. Susan came out and did the same thing.

"That man is hopeless. Sorry Will"

Will waved his arms at her "No problem, I'm already used to him. I'll be leaving now" he stood up.

"Thanks for all your help Will, I really appreciate it" she placed her hand on his shoulder.

He took her hand held it "I'll do anything for you Sue, any time"

She smiled a little before keeping a straight face again "But I don't understand why your brother hates you so much Will, what happened?"

"Oh don't mind him. Just because our parents always preferd me to the both of us. And other things" by other things, he meant Susan.
"Anyway Sue, I've really run late. I'll call you when I have arrived and please" he held her "Don't give up on him. Keep fighting until you win"

He smiled "That's great. Tell Rose I left, bye" he began walking out.

"Bye, my regards to Grace. Safe journey" he shut the door and she sighed, before turning to her wedding picture....

"Chei!" He cried out for the umpteenth time as he beholded the large, beautiful mansion that towered in front of him. "So this is what this girl has been enjoying ooohh" he shook his head and bit his finger. He snapped his fingers and knocked three times on the door. He waited again and knocked before the peephole was lifted by Yahaya.

"Yes, who you be?" He inquired

"Umm, good morning oooo, my name na Obinna, I dey look for my daughter, Ngozi"

"Nkosi na your fikin?"

He nodded his head. Yahaya kept quiet for a while and spoke "Okay wait, make I go call am"

He closed the peephole and went to call her. Obinna kept his hands akimbo and soliloquised.

"So, if I hadn't forced that foolish woman, I wouldn't have known that Ngozi had landed it big. Beatrice, Beatrice, it will not go well with that woman oooooo"

He was still in thought when the gate opened and Gift came out. She turned pale when she saw him, and almost felt like passing out.

"Ngo my daughter, how are you? Long time" he grinned and hugged his daughter who remained frozen. After a while, he released her.

"Papa, what are you doing here?" She found her words.

"Ah ah, aren't you excited to see me?" He smirked.

"You haven't answered my question. What do you want? And how did you find out I'm here?"

"Oh, I have my ways" he smirked.

Gift gasped. She knew that by 'ways' he meant Beatrice.

"Anyway, I heard that you work for a big man now, so I came looking for you. Now, I want my share"

"Of what?"

"You know what I mean, give me some money. I'm broke and I need fix somethings in the house, which you abandoned"

"Well I don't have anything. Please leave, I don't want any trouble, my madam is around"

He landed her a very hot slap and placed his finger on his head "Are you mad? Oh, so you think because you have landed it big now, you can talk to me anyhow, abi? You must be very stupid, common gerraout of my way, idiot!" She pushed her outside and rushed in, shouting "Ngozi's madam!" Like a lunatic. Gift tried to stop him but it was hopeless. Finally, Susan came out with Ini.

"Gift, what's the meaning of all this?" She asked.

"I'm sorry madam,I'll chase him back" she prostrated and tried to push George back but he was adamant.

"Common leave me alone!"

"Go now, what's wrong with you sef?" She began stamping her foot on the floor.

"Eh heh, I understand you are my daughter's boss. My name is Obinna Okonkwo, the one and only palm wine warrior, in the whole of Ngalaba kingdom" he grinned and stretched his hand to Sue for a handshake, but she remained still.

"Uhm, fine madam, see, this girl and her mother abandoned our house in the village and it's in a terrible condition now. Also, I no get money wey I go fit use chop. Abeg, I dey beg make you just butter my hand small for me, biko, ezinwanyi" he fell on one knee and got up again.

"Hmm" Sue shook her head "I can see that you are very stupid"

Obi widened his eyes "Me, mua" he turned to Gift "ò si gini?(what did she say?)"

"She said you are very stupid, oya start going, please" she rubbed her palms.

He ignored her and turned to Sue "You called me stupid"

"Yes, how dare you barge into my compound and start acting like a mad person? Are you okay, eh"

He couldn't take it anymore. He lurched forward and made to attack Sue but Gift used all the strength in her to hold him back.

"I can see that this man is an unfortunate being. Just wait for me" he began dialing rapidly on her phone and placed it on her ear. After a while, she began.

"Hello, IG ....yes it's Mrs Okoye.....yes, there is a mad criminal in my house right now and he wants to attack me.... please come fast, he's with a knife....."

Obinna dropped his jaw and bit his finger, looking left and right. Soon he turned back and began to walk away.

"Ehn! You're calling for your mother police, nonsense. Waka there" he spread his five fingers "I'm going jor, this house looks haunted sef. As for you Ngozi,hm, I'll be back" he walked out of the gate and Yahaya shut the gate.

"As for you Yahaya, woe beatide you if I ever see that creature inside here again, nonsense" she turned to Gift "You" she landed her a hot slap which made her too fall down.

"So, you've started bringing in your wretched family into my house, abi? Im running a charity organization, right? God punish you, Idiot" she hissed and walked out.

Ini shook her head and bent down to pick Gift "Are you okay Gift?"

Gift sniffed and removed her hand from her lip. It was bleeding.

"Oh, Susanna. Common let's go treat that up" she picked her up and led her to the kitchen. She picked you a nearby cloth, dipped it in water and began cleaning her lip. Soon, Gift burst into tears.

"I just can't take it anymore, I'm so tired"

"Shhhh, it's okay, that's enough dear" she rested her head on her shoulder. She was still consoling her when her eyes landed on something around Gifts neck. Something familiar. Something shiny. Something purple. She looked at it very well and realized what it was. She widened her eyes and pushed her away, with a look of shock and despair on her face. She covered her mouth and a tear dropped.

"Aunt Ini, are you okay?"

"Daisy.....?"

She shook her head and got up, running out immediately. Gift just sat there, short of words.

The next day, Gift couldn't help but think about the events of last night. Who was Daisy? She had heard that name in the house somewhere before. Why did Ini act that way? She tried to shrug it off and pay attention to lectures, but she couldn't.

When lectures were over, Genny came to meet her, so they could go get lunch.

"Hi girl, what's up?"

"I'm good"

Genny observed her for a while "You don't look good, what's wrong?"

"I'm fine Genny"

"Are you sure, or are you lying to me?"

"I'm not, I swear I'm okay"

She shrugged "Okay ooo, let's go for lunch"

"Sorry, I already have a lunch date"

She widened her eyes "Really?"

"Yeah, with Uchenna"

"The prince?"

She nodded.

"Wow, since when? I thought you hated him?"

"Well I don't" she smiled dreamily.

"Okay ooo, congrats. But you better put some food for me in good nylon oooo"

She threw her head back in laughter "Yes ma"

She had finished packing her books and was about to head out with Genny when suddenly, Rose and her gang walked in.

"What are they doing here?" Genny narrowed her eyes.

Rose eyes met her, and she began to clap and call for attention. Those who were interested in hearing her stopped movement to listen to her.

"I'm sorry to disturb your movement, but I think it's very important that you guys know so that you won't fall prey. I'm sure you guys all know one of your star students here, who is arguably the oldest amongst all of you....Gift Okonkwo" she pointed to Gift and everyone turned to her.

"You see, this lady is fond of acting like a saint and a holy person, but in truth, she isn't. I'm sure you all are aware that she cheated on me with my boyfriend and destroyed our relationship, but she didn't stop there. Can you believe that this girl also goes after men old enough to be her father. She is even my fathers mistress!"

Everyone gasped or exclaimed. Some murmured amongst themselves. Gift covered her mouth in heartbreak and shed a tear.

"Rose are you mad?! Don't you have any heart? What gives you the right to disgrace her like this?"

Rose smirked and ignored her " Anyways, I deemed it fit for all of you, especially the men, to know so that you won't fall a victim of her falsehood. She is the most promiscuous being ever, and it'd be better if everyone stays away from her. Thanks for your time" she grinned and walked out with her.


Gift broke down when they were gone. Some gossiped about her, some sneered and stared at her in disgust, while others who knew about their rivalry shook their heads in pity. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She covered her face, and ran out......

"Gift! Gift hold on!" Genny yelled after her as she ran with all her strength, her chest gathering attention because of the way it bounced. But Gift didn't stop. She didn't even look back. She just kept running and running with teary eyes and a bowed head, occasionally bumping into people without apologizing, until she hit a force so had, which made her stumble and fall. At first, she just sat there, all curled up, until she heard her name from him.

"Ngozi?"

She sniffed and raised herself up, too see her tall boyfriend, Uchenna, towering before him.

"What happened to you? Are you okay?" He made to lift her up but she just shook her head, got up and continued running. Uchenna just stared at her with a worried look, until Genny caught up with him, panting seriously.

"Oh...my... God.... Gift....has.. finally.....murdered....me....I.... haven't..run..this...hard...for...the... past....seven...years...yea!" She rested her hands on her knees.

Uchenna turned to her " Genevieve, what happened to her?"

Genny swallowed hard and regained breath ''Okay. Here it is. One extremely stupid girl named Rose Okoye, with no future and no job, had the impetus, to, as in, come to our lecture hall and start accusing Gift, in front of everyone one ooo, of having an affair with old men, including her on dad ooo, can you imagine?

Uche dropped his jaw " What?!"

"I know, right? This isn't the first time she's doing something like this. She bullies and harasses Gift, everywhere and every time, all because Gift accidentally kissed her boyfriend, can you imagine?"

Uche narrowed his eyes as the thought finally came to him. Rose must be the girl that Gift said she betrayed. No wonder she was always sad. Rose was always bullying and making life difficult for her. He frowned deeply and folded his fists. He remembered Roses face from the alliance party. He, was going to teach her a lesson.

"Excuse me" he walked away from her to his car.

Genny covered her lips in realization "Oops, hope I didn't talk too much. Anyways you people should go jor, I can't run myself to death because of cry baby" she walked the other way.

Uche drove in fury as he searched nook and cranny for Rose. He wasn't going to stop until he found her. Eventually, he found her and her group celebrating under a huge tree, not too far from the canteen. He got down the car and walked to them.

"I'm guessing you are Rose Okoye?"

"Skip the boring surname part handsome, I think I've seen your face before. How may I help you?" She asked as she ran her finger through his suit. She saw shocked, however, when he suddenly grabbed her from the back of her neck and pulled her closer to him.

"You. How dare you embarass Ngozi like that in front of so many people? Are you mad?"

"Ngozi, who's....you mean, Gift?!"

He pulled her closer to his chest "Listen, you good for nothing, let this be the last time I would hear that you hurt Gift again in your life. Because if I find out you did....."

"Let go of me you psycho, you're hurting me!"

"You'll know who's the real psycho between us when I find out you hurt her again, nonsense" he threw her hard to the floor. He hissed and went back to his car.

Her friends gathered around her to lift her up.

"Na wah oooo. But how did Gift land with such a person like that? Which charm she use?" Doris asked

Rose turned to her with fiery eyes that scared her. She screamed and stormed out.


When she arrived home, Susan was already relaxed, watching TV in the living room. George had travelled for a meeting in New York City. Gift was not yet home. Rose barged in and threw herself to her mother, in tears.

"What happened, Rose?" She asked with a surprised look.

"Is it not Gift. She sent her hudlum of a boyfriend to attack and beat me up, even though I didn't do anything wrong. He almost raped me mum..."

"WHAT?! Are you serious?"

"I swear mum, it was horrible!" She kept shedding her crocodile tears.

"Hm, that girls gonna get it when she gets home"


It was much later that Gift arrived home. Her hair was scattered, her eyes were swollen, and she looked like a lunatic. She was met by Susan and Rose in the living room.

"Gift, what gives you the temerity to send your boyfriend to attack my daughter? So it has gotten to that extent, abi?"

Gift was shocked to hear that but she remained calm. She turned her eyes to Rose, who had her tongue sticking out like a child. Then it happened. Like a flash of lightning, and with so much brute force, Gift landed a mighty, vengeful slap on her left cheek which could probably be heard beyond the borders of Morocco. It felt as if the ground shook. Time stopped. Susan just widened her eyes with her mouth, agape. Rose did the same thing but held her cheek. Finally, Gift spoke.

"I know we have our differences. And I know I'm the reason you hate me so much. But no matter what happens, you have no right to trample on my dignity that way in front of so many people, that's just too much!!!"

Soon Susan avenged her daughter and landed Gift a more forceful slap.

"How dare you lay your dirty finger on my daughter. It seems you don't know what you are. You, are a nobody!" She slapped her again "A filthy rag who was picked up from the gutters" another slap "you have no right to touch my child! Now, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! you will be sleeping outside, where you belong...."

She stormed out and Rose pushed her on the ground, spat on her, and walked out as well. Gift just drowned herself in tears.


Meanwhile, Ini, who was watching the scenario the whole time shook her head in pity.

"I'm sorry I can't defend you anymore Gift. You are a good girl who doesn't deserve to suffer this way. But your presence threatens my well being, and that can't happen. I'm sorry" she brought out her phone, dialed and placed it on her ear...

"Miss Garcia, you have a call for you from Nigeria" said a tall, white lady with light brown hair, and brown eyes like that of the Chinese. She was dressed in suit

"Put me through" said the mysterious lady who was facing the extra large window that gave an excellent view of the idolized city. Seconds later, the call was put through and she heard a familiar voice.

"Hello Miss. It's me, Iniobong.."

The lady smiled "Why, Ini, it's been quite a long time. How did you get my number?"

"I searched for you on the net, and I called the number on your company website. But that's not the reason I called. We have a big problem I'm afraid"

"Hm, go on"

"She's back"

"Who's back?"

"Daisy Okoye, Georges daughter. The twin she kidnapped.

The smile faded away "What? How's that possible?"

"I don't know, but after all these years, she somehow found herself into our lives again. She's currently working as an assistant maid for me in their house, and I'm afraid it might not be long before the truth comes out.. I'm scared"

The lady didn't respond for a while. Finally, she spoke "Get rid of her immediately. I'm coming back to Nigeria, tomorrow"

"Yes miss, goodbye.."

The call was ended.....

"Get ready for me George, I'm coming for you..."

Good morning FAM

Episode 12
George went through his little treasure box again, in search of the necklace but he still didn't find it. What was really going on? Today was his 30th wedding anniversary, and he was desperately looking for the gift he planned to give Susan on their candle lit dinner. He became confused and restless. Soon Sue joined him, dressed in a long, flowing red dress, which didn't fail to bring out her shape. Her make up made her look ten years younger. She held George on the shoulder and asked him.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

"This was meant to be a surprise, but im looking for my mother's diamond necklace, which I planned to give you today"

She smiled "That's no surprise George. Have you searched for it well?"

"Yeah, but I haven't found it?"

"Lets ask the others" Suz suggested.

They called the other members of the household. George explained to them, but non of them admitted they took it. Finally, Rose spoke.

"Actually dad, I saw Gift coming out of your room yesterday, holding something very tight"

Everyone turned to Gift, who had a shocked expression.

"Gift?"

"Sir, that's not true. I didn't take it"

"It's true, I saw Gift with it. She came to show me, saying that she was planning to sell it" Ini cut in, which further shocked Gift.

"Ini? What are you talking about?"

"Stop lying Gift, you planned to share the money with me" Ini sneered.

"Maybe we should search your room, Gift"

"Fine, go ahead" Gift accepted confidently. The whole family walked into her room and began ransacking it. Finally, it was found in her travelling bag. Rose smirked and raised it up.

"Well what do we have here? Is this it dad?"

George saw it and dropped his jaw.

"Gift, how could you?"

Gift put her hands on her head "Sir, I don't know how that got there, please"

"Stop lying child, the jig is up. Say the truth already" Ini spoke again.

Gift went on her knees.

"Sir, please you have to believe me. I swear I didn't take it, it's all a set up. Please believe me" she broke down. George shook his head. Susan turned to Rose, and both then turned to Iniobong, who smirked in response.

*Flashback*

"I think this one will be much better mum" Rose lifted up an orange gown that had metal spikes on it's belt to her mother. Susan turned from the dresses she was going through and shook her head.

"No, I've worn it before. Im thinking of wearing this one though. It's romantic and it'll make me look younger" Sue lifted a pink dress to her.

"Mum, don't be so old fashioned, this is your wedding anniversary were talking about, you're meant to look sexy for him" Rose lifted up her shoulders.

"I know, I'm just so confused" Susan slouched on the bed.

Rose smiled and sat beside her mother "Don't worry, I'm sure a little shopping would solve the problem"

Just then there was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in" Suz called. Iniobong opened the door and walked in with a bowed head.

"Susan, I'd like to talk to you"

"What about?"

"It's about Gift"

Rose rolled her eyes.

"If you are here to defend her In, then please cut me some slack" Susan said.

"Im not here to defend her Susan. Infact, I just discovered that you and Rose were right about her"

Susan and Rose turned to each other in shock.

"Really?"

Ini nodded. "Yes. She is nothing but a disgusting, lying and deceitful woman who doesn't deserve anything good. We need to get her out of this house, and I'm ready to support you" Ini sniffed and raised her head up.

Susan and Rose laughed.

"I'm glad your eyes are finally opened, but you know that, that won't be easy. George has already vowed never to get her out. What are we supposed to do?"

"What about setting her up?"

Suz thought for a while " Yeah, we could do that, but how. We can't use money, he doesn't keep his at home"

There was silence between them for a while. Then Rose gasped.

"Lightbulb. Mum, do you remember that necklace that belonged grandma that dad promised to give you on your 30th wedding anniversary?" She asked.

"The diamond one, yes I do"

"Let's use it. Dad really loves that necklace. If we put it amongst her things, and all accuse her together, dad will have no other choice but to get her out of the house"

"That could work. Let's try it"

That was what lead to this moment. George was really confused. He knew that Gift wasn't that kind of person, but Ini was also claiming the same thing. Ini wasn't the lying type, and he knew she was in good terms with Gift. She wouldn't accuse her falsely, would she? Impossible. Ini couldn't do that. It must be true. He had no choice.

"Im sorry Gift, but I don't know what to believe anymore. Maybe it would be better if you just leave. I'm sorry" he turned and walked away.

"Please sir, don't do this to me, please..." She lay sprawled on the floor. Rose walked to her and smirked.

"Well, it looks like your lucky streak is over. You thief. You are so ungrateful. I am going to enjoy your absence. Goodbye, forever"

She turned away and walked and Suz followed suit, shaking her head. Ini walked away, with a bowed head. Her eyes met Gifts, which was filled with sorrow, and anger. Someone betrayed. Ini just shut them after a tear dropped and walked away as well.
