Buhari needed Ribadu to win the Southwest commandingly. I have always been of the opinion that the election will be decided in the Southwest. Buhari supporters please do not raise your blood pressure with over anticipation. I feel very horrible. I cannot be in denial anymore. The Southwest factor that I could not answer before the election has been answered. Northwest and Northeast was going to vote Buhari. Northcentral was going to be split between Buhari and Jonathan with Jonathan getting a higher share. South South and South East was to go for Jonathan. The election was to be decided in the Southwest. Southwest has chosen Jonathan and they have given us our President for the next 4 years. People deserve the leaders they have and unfortunately, Nigeria deserves the Poverty Development Party. |

danjohn: Danjohn, I know you are a nice guy and you really mean well for Nigeria. So can we put it this way: We all pray that GEJ will deliver the goods. Let's come together and move the nation forward. With the new mix in government and the renewed belief in democracy, we will succeed together. |

Nigerians have spoken. Goodluck's our new president. However, wether he will go the way of OBJ or he will write his name on the sands of time will be determined in the next four years . Goodluck to Goodluck |

It is not the SW per say that gave it to GEJ, it was the average SE and SS people who are in large population in the SW. I just hope GEJ realises that GOD has a hand in his being returned and cos of this he shouldnt forget that the same GOD can remove him if he continues with some of his weak policies and bad company (ie Anenih,OBJ etc) |

danjohn:^Overall, a nice post that was spoiled at the end by this sentence. It's time we Nigerians learned how to lose gracefully. In a democracy; we may not agree with the people's choice but we should at least respect it. The irony of the situation is that a Northern candidate may well have won the election if it wasn't any of the old guard which Nigerians associate with the problems of Nigeria (represented by Buhari) but was younger (Buhari should have stepped down for Ribadu). A lot of people voted GEJ because he represented the best option of preventing a Buhari presidency IMO. |

Foolish Southwest! Where is their political "savvyness" in this now? The North never forgets hurriedly and in the scheme of things, we need the North to return to power. They have always aligned with us but now we have betrayed them. The North would be sure to frustrate our efforts for presidency from now on. We know that now, they will never vote a S Easterner but we need the North. However this alignment with the SS is going to cost us dearly because we know that the Easterner s who can never taste power would not vote a Yoruba man due to their sheer hatred for us. Bad move SW. |
