Thanks for the information. Actually if you compare prices on Expedia to booking.com you would find out that Expedia has got much better deals. Stay woke!
Louiscares:

Hello alusiala,

Generally, you can get a place for short stay using Airbnb of the country you are going.Since your destination is Ireland, check up Airbnb Ireland for temporary short stay accommodation.

You can copy or click the link below.

https://www.airbnb.com/a/Ireland?af=43719944&c=.pi0.pk62676068051_280718781731_m_70142073587&sem_position=1t1&sem_target=kwd-70142073587&location_of_interest=2372&location_physica

Just filter/ set the price range you want. You can also do that on booking.com. Compare price on airbnb if it is cheaper than what you have seen on booking.com.

Please, ensure you read the reviews of any apartments. And note, some Airbnb the owners live in the house but give out rooms in their apartment's for short stay etc.

You can also contact your school accommodation office asking for students who has a place/room for rent. Also, you can comment on your school page on Facebook that you are a new international student looking for accommodation and you would get a response.

Finally, you can connect with anyone going to same school or city in Ireland on this platform and get a temporary place from booking.com and split the bills among yourselves. I think this is better as you can always book a hotel that has free cancellation ,the only issue is that you may have to arrive Ireland same day with the person(s) you are splitting the bills with.

I would advise in a case where there is no free cancellation, don't pay for all the days , just book a day and when you arrive the facility and you like it ,you can pay for the other days until you get your permanent accommodation. If you have a credit card, it is better and safer to use a credit card to make any online reservation/booking than a debit card but if you don't have ,it is fine.

Good luck.

Regards,

Louis

Thanks, I just received the offer letter now..

please another question. can I do a bond of 3000 euro and have the balance in my account when apply for Visa?
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 12:57pm On Aug 29, 2019
Edubond is €7, 000

Min Fee Payment - €6, 000 (visa application rqd) though some schools may require Non Eu students to pay in full before registration

Cost of Living Estimate is €7,000

The proof of funds in your account or that of your sponsor should be sufficient to take care of your cost of living and the balance of your fees (assuming you are making part payment)

If you are paying full fees, then bank statement and Edubond of €7000 is sufficient for cost of living estimate

Read more details on INIS Site under Study Visa section

When is your course start date? as you want take apply for visa now....and considering Irish Embassy turnaround time atm

Best of success bro

Another challenge, I was told it is a 1yr program but the admission letter is saying 15months.

Hope the program is in the shortage skill list.

7000 euro is required for Bond account, you cant pay 3000euro.... so I'll advise you use the account statement or you pay the 7000euro in full

Hello Orji16,

You should inform the embassy about your resumption date and update your school on your visa status.

I am supposed to attend my orientation on 4th September and lecture start date 9th September, but after I sent an email , they replied (see the attached image) requesting that I ask for letter of extention of resumption from my school. I have done that yesterday and I was exempted from the orientation, ,my resumption was extended to 18th September and I have sent the letter to the embassy accordingly.

Regards.

Louis

I sent a mail to the school and they extended my date to 9th. I pray through embassy releases a positive result by then

CastedDude:
It is almost the same mail I received from Abuja embassy. You will soon get ur visa even before the date u were asked to send a reminder. Hope u are tracking it via UPS.

Hello CastedDude

Yes, I am tracking it via UPS .

Also, I noticed we submitted the same day (8th July) in Lagos. From your previous post, if you were told that your documents/application arrived at the embassy 11th July, it means that 5th September is the completion of the 8th week. I hope it comes before then though.

I will let you know once I get an update .

Regards.

Sadly, I am yet to get a response from the embassy about the completion of my application.

Hello Pradit,

I have attached the latest UPS status .

I don't completely agree with you that all applications between 2nd to 13th July were moved to Dublin because when I sent an email to both Dublin and Abuja office on August 22nd ,I got the response ( see attached screenshot).

I just hope I get feedback before the new date (18th September ) of my extention resumption I got from my school.

Regards.

Louis
