Let's be guided bro... You think? I know! I gained admission for a COURSE BASED masters program in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, at UCalgary. I'm not guessing, I was told by the representative of the department before I applied, that I don't need to search for a supervisor before applying, as one would be provided if my application is successful. It was successful.

Whoever needs to apply should call the department of interest, and equally go through the schools website. No need guessing or debating over information that is available.

Before I graduated (had only my first & second year grades), I applied for MSc Computer Science (Specialization in Software Engineering) at UCalgary and my application stayed for 3 months before they replied and said they couldn't allocate a supervisor to me. N/B: I was in a UK University & was predicted to graduate with a first class in Software Engineering.

Good day and many thanks to everybody answering and asking questions here.
I graduated with a 2.2 in a computer science education and I learnt Canadian varsities wouldn't consider grades lesser than 2.1 for admission, but a chance of pre-masters for considerations. The cost of pre master and master for many schools there ranges from 70-$75k , equivalent of #21m. Pls is studying with such outrageous amount in canada really worth it? I intends staying back after the 3yrs if considered for admission but considering if the move will be worth the cost.

You can apply for a Canada visa by yourself. Visit this website for more details https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria/how_to_apply.html
Every information on Canada website is self-explanatory.

The application fee and service charge by agents will be outrageous compared to applying yourself.

Someone with better knowledge can also advise you.

If you search well enough, you should find schools that are far less than that. Every move out of Nigeria is worth it.

Finally got my visa but a bit late to resume school. No January intake for my course which means next year September is the next intake.
Frankrobbn1 you once told me it's possible to change school once you get to canada, is it possible to change it right here in Nigeria so I can find a school with January intake.

Sorry for the late reply. I trust Naijaforeigner's post must have answered your query. Yes! you can from Nigeria provided you've an acceptance letter and currently enrolled in the DLI you're transferring to and also an evidence that you've withdrawn from the previous school.

Thanks bro. From my calculation I got these
pre- master tuition a year=$15k
Masters 2 yrs=$30k
Living expenses for each year=10kx3=$30k
Total =75k.

Any idea of how the estimate can be reduced is highly appreciated.

Don't know if registering for IT related professional courses can improve chances of admission with the 2.2 result

Good day fellas, for about 3 weeks now i did biometrics together with my wife and immediately it reflected on our page that we had done it. However, while my biometric request was updated and submitted that of my wife is still showing 'your action is required' after she had done it 3 weeks ago. I sent mail via their webform and also mailed lagos and nairobi because i wouldn't know precisely the consular processing the application but nothing has been done concerning it. And as it is now, the application is already bn reviewed but because my wife's biometrics has not bn submitted hers hasn't bn worked on. Please gurus what can i do?
Also, how do i know the consular working on application? Is it in Lagos, kenya or Ghana. Yes lest i forget, i did online application.
Thanks

KrystalDesign:

Gurus in the house with similar case or have an idea of what can be done, please help out as I have not seen such scenario before and can't respond to it.

Please confirm if your wife's biometrics number, enrollment and expiration date is reflecting on her MyCIC Account. If so, you don't have to worry about the "Your action is required"' message you see on her processing table. Within a short period of time, it will revert back to completed or We don't need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes. Meanwhile, you've done the right thing by raising a CSE to the kenya, Nairobi Immigration Office.

Hello house please I need help, can I gain admission into University of Winnipeg I have C4 in English and am 23 years old please help

You sound like an undergraduate Applicant.... If so, yes you can secure an admission with such result. Though, you would have to justify what you've been doing since you last left high school until now and why you want to further your studies in Canada given the high cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education as well as why you should be given the privilege (VISA) as an exceptional applicant to study in Canada etc.

Hi guys,I applied for MEng program in University of Victoria since May. I didn't get any response till I decide email them recently about my application status. They replied that it is required that all MEng applicant get a supervisor before being admitted. Meanwhile, my application was based on project/course work.

I'm just confused on what to do now cos I've been waiting since May.

Can anyone suggest other schools I can apply to without having to get a supervisor?

University of Victoria is a no go area for international Admissions and always come up with flimsy reasons after wasting an applicant's time waiting for an admission. I would suggest you check out Lakehead University or University of Windsor for MEng program. From my vast experience, I have noticed that applicants going to these schools (particularly U of Windsor) are mostly favoured in getting VISAS. Also the school is flexible in the sense that they have different start dates (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Another interesting part is that you DON'T need to secure a Supervisor kiss. So waste no time and apply for an admission.

All the best

Currently working as an administrative officer for about 2 years now.

From the above list of documents presented and GCMS Notes shared by you. I think you've done a great job most especially by getting your dad to transfer a landed property to you (the son) as a Deed of Gift and also providing you with a written documentation that you're the next of kin to his 12M RSA Investment account here in Nigeria.Meanwhile, I hope the Deed was backdated to few years back and also it's commerical value (worth). Backdating the deed would further buttress the fact that you're well-established in your home country long before your previous study visa rejection and that the economic incentives in Nigeria far outweighs that of Canada. Therefore, you've no intention to stay in Canada beyond the validity period of your permit.

With regards to your SOP, I would suggest you contact any of the knowledgeable individuals here who will vet and make possible corrections in the letter where applicable.

It shall end in praises

Hello everyone. Please I need advice. I intend relocating to Canada next year (I want to start applying this December) with my baby with a student visa. I studied law. (I am a lawyer)But right now I can’t afford to go for masters in law which is around 40,000 CAD. I plan on doing a post graduate course which I can use to work and apply for for work permit after it’s over. I need advice on the course I can apply for that will help me get a work permit and possibly lead to PR.

Thanks for the help you have been offering. Do you know any relatively cheap college or university for graduate certificate or graduate diploma without much admission protocols for a 2:2 electrical and electronics in Engineering graduate that's offering January 2020 admission ongoing at the moment. Prospective course of study software engineering/technician or electrical techincian/related field. Thanks.
