A credit card is not compulsory, the problem arises when this so called credit card, becomes a heavy debt card...

The circumstances of the borrower changes and can no longer afford it.....

It might be an unsecured way of borrowing, but that unsecured position, would automatically be converted to a secured position, if you own your property. That debt would simply be charged to your property......

The morale of this story is, if you feel you can manage it judiciously, go for it....... If not run, like fire is burning....

It's called credit card, but i call it a debt card........ It might take you out of tight corner, but that rescue, might become a constricting snake....... cheesy
Lmao, debt card

Do you have a terrible experience with the debt card
Can I DM you please? Would like to discuss some finance management stuff with you if you don't mind?

Its tiring...now Emmy wants to change their award categories from male and female to include them.

Another dumb asswipe will wake up and tell us he feels like a dog and want to be identified as such.

Why are people engaging in it na? Makes no sense.
Aside mortgaging, which is very understandable, why should one live on credit?

I jump and pass.
Oga has the same mindset too.
Thanks for your explanation.

Wish I had the memo my kids school sent to parents. They are strictly against such and are encouraging parents to guide their kids properly.
Kids should report fowl behaviour from fellow kids too.

It's too much freedom that is causing that.
What do they lack actually?
If they are in Nigeria trying to survive with all the rubbish going on, will their mind wander off like this?
They are overspoilt.

You have to understand that this is just one step closer to their goal of legalizing pedophilia and reducing the age of sexual consent to below 5 years of age. The schools will be used to teach and normalize this type of behavior. Actually nowadays more and more teachers employed in schools are supportive of this trend.

RalphJean:

Yepaaaaaa.....
They want to teach our children the science of Wanking?
To groom the next generation of wankers?

Bloody fucking hell...

sassysure:

No wonder I received a memo from school about this on Friday.
The thing didn't make sense to me at first.

What is wrong with this people?

Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament was unlawful, the Supreme Court has ruled.
Mr Johnson suspended - or prorogued - Parliament for five weeks earlier this month, saying it was to allow a Queen's Speech to outline his new policies.
But the court said it was wrong to stop Parliament carrying out its duties in the run-up to the Brexit deadline on 31 October.
Downing Street said it was "currently processing the verdict".

Most teachers actually dont have a choice in these sort of circumstances...they just grin and bear it and as usual keep their opinion to themselves...noticed how not many schools or group support that school in Birmingham trying to introduce 2 daddys and 2 mummys

One advantage of a Credit Card is that you get full refunds whenever you make purchases and the company goes bust before you have value for your money.

Example:
Those who used Debit Cards or Cash to buy Thomas Cook holiday package have ‘entered voicemail’ as we used to say in Naija.

However,
Those who booked using Credit Cards will have FULL refund of their money.

Conclusion:
Credit card is definitely a great idea iff (if and only if) one is financially disciplined and doesn’t see the credit balance as ‘free money’

Were you not on this forum when I once addressed someone as a Nigerian, but because s(he) has obtained British passport, I was almost whacked in the butt. The person vehemently denied being a Nigerian. Person edited my post, drew a double strikethrough Nigeria and wrote ‘British’

Those are the Brits on Nairaland that buy package holidays.

That's not true na. All package holidays are ATOL protected and everyone will get a refund, regardless of which payment card was used. The only people that MAY lose out are those that used debit card to pay for flight-only deals with Thomas Cook and that one sef they can still contest it.

If they cant get refund or some money from their debit card providers, they still have the option of claiming through their travel insurance.
to be honest there are just so many ways people can get some sort of compensation

Flights and Hotel deals in bae, expedia, lastminute, are my go to!
travelling to naija is DIY

What's the relationship between Nanny and God fearing?

What does God fearing really mean ? How do you measure God fearing abilities?..... wink
Exactly my sentiment when I saw that requirement in that post. A "Nigerian" who is professes to be "God fearing" is a red flag to me as it often me suggests I am about to be scammed or taken advantage of.

A sentence a mother will understand grin although it's a false comfort.

Nigerians carry religion pass anything that why there are so many churches in Nigeria yet the stories coming from there is shocking and doesnt tie up to the religion we profess.... thinking a nanny will take better care of a child if she God fearing is so false because in reality it might be the opposite ... . When I was in this nanny waka , my European nannies have long forgotten religion and were non religious but were nice and gentle to my kids. The two times I tried Nigerians. One who wont even let me sleep in peace at night with her prayers but on ground , Her attitude to children was terrible .
