simpleAG, thanks for your reply, I am into industrial chemicals for manufacturing of paints, detergents, soup, liquid soap, paints, inks, etc. I want to know if one can set one up as easily as we do over here in Nigeria. I also intend to go into dry erase marker ink production. What does it require to set up the business over there?

The Universities that offer English courses in Ivory Coast are expensive, i.e High tuition fee.
Nevertheless contact these 2 schools. First is Govt. ,second is a private uni.

University of Abidjan - http://uniabidjan.com/students-2/
University of Science and Technology of Ivory Coast - http://www.rusta-ustci.org/contact.htm

Safe guy !

I will be visiting soon too maybe by September by God's grace. I have a friend who lives at Adjame he is from Osun State you will be surprised that 70% of Nigerians living in Abidjan are from Osun State, ranging from Ejigbo the highest Nigerians so far to IWO, EDE, IRAGBERI, OGBOMOSO, OYO, ILORIN few EDO, DELTANS IGBOS and very few Hausas from Nigeria but they are countless Hausas from other countries like Niger, Ghana, Gambia etc. The last time I visited l met with our Ambassador Mrs. IFEOMA AKABOGU she is a very welcoming and friendly ambassador. With 250,000 Naira you are good to go Atleast for a starter if you are planning migration depending on the area you will stay and the kind of business you will love to venture in. You can pm me or the brother above pertaining to business and cost of accommodation of your preferred areas.
hello bro please i need more info about ivory coast

that will help a lot

because If you run the same line of business
that you run there, here

You will have a head start...

And N1.5m is not a bad start

but you can increaass it sha if you can

the more money you make, the better

500k

Kenox:

500k

well
to be very honest with you

500 grand will cover some ground
but not enough grounds

because most times initial rent here is six months (at least that was my case)
and we have not spoken of trans (this will cost you at least 30k plus, being your first time)

subtraction accommodation and transport Will decimate this amount

I'm not discouraging you tho

some people come with such amount and then rough it out
but it's gonna be very very tough

because this place can be unforgiving if you don't know someone here to say accommodate you

what you can do is to try to increase your capital

what you are doing
keep doing it

when it has reached a reasonable amount

You divide the money in two
keep one half in an interest bearing mutual funds account

then come slug it out in CIV with the second half of it.

So worst come to worst
you still have something back to fall on in naija.

what business can you really do?
You will need to develop yourself
and learn some French too.

all the best

With 50k Naira per month, you can get houses within Marcory, Koumassi, Yopougon Port Bouet, Some parts of Cocody Etc. I will advise you choose between Yopougon and Koumassi as life is Cheaper there (Though most parts of Koumassi are very dirty and smells but the current mayor is putting everything in order now) Starting with Koumassi Ramblais won't be bad as a lot Nigerians are there
Re: Any Nairalander In Abidjan? by Whatarewehere4: 6:23pm On Oct 31, 2019
Thanks so much rough diamond..How are you today ? so are those the only areas I can get houses with my budget because I would love an environment with less Nigerians ,I lived in South Africa for a couple of years and I know the types of atrocities Nigerians commit outside of their country..

I have read and heard about places like Deux Plateax,Angres ,Asinine etc i would like to live in an highbrow area and honestly I thought my 50k budget will get me a student type of self contain in Abidjan considering the volume of information I have digested online lol ... Will upping my budget to 70k naira per month (100,000 cefas ) get me a student self contain in those places I mentioned above ? , i just want to be in a sane, calm and cool environment that will offer me the sanity I need for my freelance job .. I want to be in a place where everyone minds their business with an ambience suitable for raising a a 5 years old boy that was given birth in the United Kingdom but will relocate with me ,thank you so much ...

Assinie is a suburb of Abidjan it is not within the metropolis and about your kind of area, Rivera palmeras, deux plateau will be your best bet. The people there live as if they are not Africans.i can tell you colonial did a number on them cheesy Their lifestyle was at first a cultural shock to a typical blackman like me but as times went by I got use to it.

Studio apartment the one we refer to as self contains ranges in prices depending on the kind of house. The least you can get goes for 60cfa, while it goes up to even 300cfa per month.

I think it solely depends on the agent you meet. A friend pays 80k Cfa at Koumassi Ramblais, a customer of mine pays 100k at same Ramblais. An old neighbor pays 90k for a room and parlor. A Nigerian I know pays 70k at Angré. From what you said, I will suggest you stay at Cocody, Riviera 2/ Riviera 3, Deux plateau or Angré. Though I can't tell the cost of rent at those areas. Marcory résidentiel and zone 4 too are very good but highly expensive (in millions). I suggest you land first, find any house to lay your head first, then move around to find the area that best suits you. Rents are paid monthly here, therefore, relocation is also so easy

There are many Nigerians in the business, mostly Yorubas. If you are a Yoruba, it will be easier for you as your people will help you. But don't expect an Igbo man to help you here. Just remove it from your plan. Unless by a miracle. Your major challenge will be language.

Nice business. All I can say the market for this kind of business in adjame has already been saturated. Look for other locations in the city and you are cool.
