In my own opinion, both are important. It's better that one finds a partner while pushing a career. Both can go together, especially if you meet a partner who wants you to also grow.
I personally, will try to manage both and settle with the person.

The obsession with marriage among Nigerian females is something I still struggle to understand. Admittedly, I never grew up in Nigeria but I was baffled when I came over (for NYSC) to see the number of females that saw marriage as the immediate next step. Forget the career aspect for a second, what about ones personal development and growth? There is never a "right" time for marriage but there are surely better suited times. However at the end of the day, to each is own. No right or wrong way to live this life when it comes to deciding between marriage or career. Some may believe marriage will bring that needed personal growth.

Just my opinion (I know not asked for ).

The noise about choosing a career before marriage or vice versa makes no sense. What should concern you is balancing the two phenomenon.

I have seen women put in the hours at work and rose to the top of their dreams without any effect on how they run their families. You can work hard without closing too late and you can further your studies and still save your family the suffering. The pitfalls comes when you invest your whole entirety into one thing.

The joy of a successful woman is the story of her supportive family but a woman who neglects her family will be lonely at the top. Victory is sweetest in the company of genuine cheers.
