so, you are working on a belief, not on a stated fact? Wow.

What if the something on ground is only on the condition that he is using it for Masters? Since we want to use hypothetical beliefs.... undecided

Abeg, let's just keep it at, he can save part of the 90k for a period of time and hopefully set up business with it. Funny thing is that, there is no guarantee the business will be successful. It is easy to star business, but sustaining business is the issue

LMAO Business ke? 90k is a good income outside Lagos. I rather watch my money in the Bank every 3 days & smile with Isiewu & Goat meat in my mouth than start one funny business & loose all my money.

One funny thing amount Pay is that your new employers always want to Pay higher than the previous, but you see once you are jobless? Even if you carry PHD, they will price you like pepper.

Why tossing a coin with your life?

Perhaps another way to look at it, make a survey and look into your seniors with MSc certificate in the discipline, were they able to get something done to sustain their lives with the certificate?
How much are they paid and how immediately we’re they able to secure a job with the MSc cert?

The only reason why I can advise to to quit the job for school is if the job is not a secured one.
He should do what he thinks is best for him but I will tell him this . My brother's friend is an M.sc holder in same discipline and earns 30k now. I'll only advice him to channel his energy in securing another source of income, business probably

You are fortunate to be employed and not wandering in the labor market.

You wanna go back to school for MSc, after then come back to the labor market.

What guarantees you that your MSc is a sure ticket to bring meals to your table?

I advise if you could find a way of shuttling between the two, work and school, and not minding the stress, it’s ok. Resigning from work to purse an advance certificate in Nigeria is not advisable.

You are right!

what kind of calculation will land you at 900k in 10 months?

He said he makes 90k per month, you think there will be no expenses incurred in that time? He cannot double his current income in 10 months. The man is looking for realistic targets and you are building castles in the sand.

Transportation, feeding, miscellaneous will eat out of that 90k. Unless he has another means of income aside the 90k, this advice is almost useless. And 10 other people with poor reasoning endorsed this undecided

The only useful thing is that he should have multiple streams of income and @OP, you will not be able to buy land or do Uber with 90k/month salary in even a year.

I bet you didn't read that post very well before quoting her.

She didn't say the OP will get 900k in 10 months from a 90k salary just like that rather, she advised the OP to INVEST and he can double his money in 10 months and then when he gets 900k, he can buy a landed property.

Calm down, read and assimilate before calling people fools.

That girl you quoted is very smart.

so you think someone can have 900k in 10 months on a 90k salary?

It's very possible if they invest some part of the 90k.

At a time in my life when i was doing a side job that was paying between 80-120k, i was able to net 950k within one year after heavy expenses running into millions.

How was that possible, i invested a chunk of what i made monthly and it yielded plenty extras.

Invest in something meaningful and 90k is more than capable of making you millions within one year depending on the expenses you make.

Please, apply for a masters programme in Finland as from next month. You can apply for scholarship as well. I know you will get it because they usually give those that read your course.

Do not leave your job until you get a better one. Good luck!
Please enlighten me on this. Which schools offer full scholarship for African students.

I'm Kind of in a similar situation. But I'm making my mind up to back to school for an MSc in UI. Next year Insha Allah. Sometime ba, you gotta give up the good in order for a better thing to come. If you invest in your education you cannot live to regret it

give us examples of meaningful things you can invest , in 2019, that will double 90k/month for you

In a failing economy, how many people are reaping any fruits from their investments? Recently, someone mentioned his friend who invested 1 million in the Stock Market in 2004, only to receive 11,000 naira from that investment after 15 years.

When you want to makesuggestions, you do it based on the realities of today, not what obtained a few years ago, or what should be obtainable.

It is easy to tell people to invest, because it is easy to forget that there are many factors in play, when you want to invest.

What is the benefit of going back to school when you could save up and invest and double your income in 10 months.

If you buy a land for 900k.... That would pay your more in one year or more if you sell it. Or if you use the some money to get into Uber, it would also increase your earnings.

Pls sir have multiple streams of income before going for MSc. It will help you. Many who have done masters are dreaming to have a job like yours o. Please you have a blessing at hand now, don't sacrifice it for what is commonly pursued.

You're a very smart young lady.
There isn't going to be any limits for you if you apply these same principles to your life.

10 years ago when i was still seeking admission, i got a job that paid about 31k monthly and within one and a half years, i was able to save up 350k for a KEKE NAPEP which i put on hire purchase.
That is 31k monthly pay giving me hundred of thousands because i invested.

There are plenty of opportunities in Nigeria safarigirl. Even from abroad, people are taking advantage of these opportunities.

I could never invest in the Nigerian stock market for any reason. That is like throwing money away.
To make gains from the stock market, you need to be well grounded on the stock market matters and also be actively involved to know when to stay and when to pull out.

No one says invest 90k and make double, read the post again. It says save up and then invest to double it. These are two different things.

The realities are hitting everyone of us and i still tell you that you can make it plenty with 90k as your monthly take home. It depends on your lifestyle and the plans you have for yourself.

If 90k is too small to build up, even a 7 digit salary won't do the trick.
I'm not going to list any investment options because this is not an investment thread

Python programming language is easy to learn, you can buy courses on udemy, they cost around 4k, there are websites you can learn it from too, freecodecamp.org is one, you can learn from YouTube videos too, there are some nice channels like freecodecamp, traversymedia etc

Don't, some people with Msc don't even earn upto 90k a month, since you said this job gives you free time my advice is that you should use this free time to learn a skill, for instance tech is the thing now but if you have no interest in tech there are still a lot of other things you can learn. You can save up money and Msc later.

By tech u mean ??

I have a problem which has been bothering me for a while now. I recently landed a job few months ago. The pay is not all that wonderful. When I add my other allowances, it sums up to 90k per month. I have been squating with a friend for some time now so am planning on getting my own apartment next year when I save up some money.

The only beauty about my job is that it gives you a lot of free time. I can be done with work as early as 1:30pm and go home.

I am thinking of going back to school for my M.Sc in UNILAG but as it is, I am my own sponsor. I have a first degree in Biochemistry.

Should I go back to school or continue working?
Does UNILAG offer part time options for students in my line of study?
How long is Unilag part time and full time masters?

Exactly, I will advice Self Development or/and Entrepreneurship (business). Personally, d past 3wks I v enrolled and completed lots of MOOCs whc has automatically added extra value to my position, output and abilities.

You should try it.

Everything is not all about programming, there r free Google courses even on Google analytics or evn Google ads. These are great digital marketing skills to possess.

Don't quit your job. Combine the job with your masters cos it's the job that will provide money for running the program. You can also run the program on a full time basis, since your job gives you time. Just connect and liase with your lecturers and coursemates, the journey will be smooth for you. My advice tho.
