I have to ask, are you Nigerian? For you to think all kids hair will look like that, especially pure African, cos the picture used looks like a child of mixed parents
In fact, I was laughing as I was looking at those pictures....and thinking to myself, "is she for real?"

With the sun, heat and stress in Lagos, you want to be doing hair buns, for active little girls, who know how to play rough play, anyhow they like. Breeze too go follow join, scatter di hair.

Ladycewhy:
again ,not all hair texture will cooperate, before they return from school the hair will look like the child went to a war zone. The hair stretching every morning is not worth it.
Abeg, help me tell dem!! cheesy Na real war zone the whole head go resemble....

Europeans migrated out of Africa as well. Everybody migrated out of Africa, lmaooo! However, we've been apart for a very long tine now, which resulted into us being genetically diverse, so what exactly is your point?!

And aunty, which European country did you live in to come up with the conclusion of the average white woman wearing extension. You even took it a step further and said 'from a very young age'

I live in London J.UK ( sarcasm). I think I have seen it all, but I'm still open to seeing more.
Many of those who do not wear extensions have very thin hair with no volume all, and I personally find nothing admirable about thin, greasy, lice-infested hair.
Nothing beats the volume of the African hair.
Meanwhile, how did you come to the conclusion that majority of white women do not wear extensions? Where do you live?

U will not win this case o.
It's ingrained in our mentality.

My husband has long natural hair and I weave it for him.

The other day, I was hailing the current miss world ABI miss universe from South Africa. She locks short natural hair.
We so much hate our hair, we fix Brazilian. Imagine a black babe with flat nose fixing Brazilian.
We are never satisfied with what we have. Our hair is very beautiful and unique.

I have seen it all. We can do one and million things with that.

This is our TY Bello.
Can u believe this is all natural?
Isn't this beautiful?

Chisos shocked grin.

Nothing in glorifying our hair, but glorifying it whereas putting others natural hair down is disgusting.
I live in Germany (no sarcasm). Most do not wear wigs. It's actually seen as sth. shameful, as it is in most western countries. Things just started changing and even at that, the average white woman does not wear wigs!

Where have I ever mentioned wigs? I have kept on saying extensions. I even specifically mentioned clip on extensions in another post. Please, there is a big difference in extensions and wigs and both are very different.

I still don't find thin greasy hair, with no volume attractive. It is what it is. I'm not putting their hair down by saying it is thin. I'm also not putting their hair down by saying it is greasy (of course not all have greasy hair and hair lice, but fine hair are a nest for lice)
My own hair is coarse too by the way.
It is what it is...

And if it's short, just leave it:
The picture you attached, to your post is one of a mixed race child. Her hair texture would definitely be far different, from that of a pure African child without mixed race genes!

Your average white woman does wear clip on extensions. Infact, they start wearing them from secondary school.
You do reek of inferiority complex, despite all your attempts in trying to appear woke.
Whites have blonde hair, but we do have some Africans with naturally blond hair too. That's why I mentioned earlier about the black race being so diverse genetically and pheonytpically. I have attached some pictures of some children with typical black features and their blond hair. A simple google search. Meanwhile, there are also some blacks with blue eyes. Fact.

What do you understand by alopecia? You've just being shouting it upandan. I do hope you know it's a legitimate medical condition.
I know traction alopecia can be caused by pulling your hair from some of these styles that play with the edges, but some are caused by even packing your natural hair all back.

This babe, you have too much mouth for someone doing care work in the UK o.
You say blacks in diaspora take care of themselves better?
Awon ti London J.UK...
Wehdone sir

These are the melanesian people. They do not have our DNA.

Black people can't have blonde hair!

Maybe the colored clips worn by girls on birthdays etc. But the black race still remains the one who wears all these the most. Get your facts right. They are not things the average white woman wears

Yes, it's your opinion that none of us look good with weaves and you're free to express it but you shouldn't be crafty or extreme in order to prove a point because it actually makes your argument weaker.

If I had said "what of those "natural beauties" with patch patchy wisps of hair over their bald heads" wouldn't it sound awful even though we know that that's how some of them look? You are being very unreasonable joor

It's not racist to state that some of us have particular features. It's racist to use that fact to argue that we look grotesque in weaves and wigs, when having a flat nose doesn't necessarily mean that straight hair looks bad on you. Chinese people nko?

The fact is that having large lips doesn't automatically disqualify you from looking decent with straight hair, just like having kinky hair doesn't automatically disqualify you from from looking decent with thin lips! You're so eager to squash everybody into your own tiny box for some reason when there are so many different looks that work well.

Being from Nigeria doesn't automatically mean that using a foreign first name is beyond you. You may disagree with it for your own reasons but it doesn't necessarily make the other person ignorant or stupid.

Will you say "big black face with big lips doesn't suit English name" Because that's racist! I'm sure in the UK you're talking from you can be arrested for saying that.

It depends. Are you going to say that " rounder nose and full lips don't look good with long, straight hair"? Because that's racist too.

It has nothing to do with being mixed or not. I asked you a question- do black people with straight noses and thin lips always automatically look good in any wig they wear?

I'm quoting you because you're saying the wrong thing thinking that you're sounding more enlightened when actually your argument lacks intelligence and nuance.

There are full black people all over Nigeria with thin noses and lips are you're here talking about "mixed" like one bush woman! I just can't understand it.

How can you claim to have left your "oppression" but still be so narrow-minded?

You're the most oppressed person here, if you don't know.

Crafty in what way?

How is it racist to say black ppl look better in our own hair because of our features??

If I was saying we look better in weave wouldn't that be even more racist? Would you prefer that??

Cos you've seen someone with patchy wisps of hair leaving their house right?

Weaves are not even about our features alone anyway.

Bleaching the knots, gluing the lace. Black women do these things in an attempt to make weaves look natural. But the main thing about making fake hair look natural is the texture. Black women are fooling nobody.

Are chinese full featured like black ppl?

I honesty don't thinking saying big lips big nose don't suit an english name is racist. They're trying to say a person with those features naturally wouldn't have an English name.

Which black person has STRAIGHT noses and THIN lips?? Do you know what you're saying?

Those aren't our features.

Don't even bring up Somali or fulani.

Oppressed by who exactly?

One thing people should understand is that, the fact that one doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't mean they are stupid, it's like me saying you assuming all kids hair is a certain way, able to achieve same result, is stupidity in itself, but I wouldn't,

My hair is exactly like the pictures of this comment I quoted, I didn't have to put different chemicals or oils and whatnot to achieve that, I believe in making the hair grow on its own, using enhancing whatever spoils the hair and texture, I come from a line of long full hair people, not everyone will achieve the long soft hair no matter how much they spend on it, whether natural or not, if you don't have a long hair, you don't, stop making your illogical opinion seem 100% right, it isn't, we are talking of kids here, not adults.
Thanks for educating her, o jaré. Genetics also has a lot to do with hair growth, in the same way it also dictates our features and skin tone.

Skin tone differs among black people, in the same way hair texture also varies, from one person to the next.

I have had natural hair for over 10 years. I have used the best conditioners and moisturisers and hair treatments you can think of, but my hair is still quite short.

What does that tell you? Not every one can have long shoulder length full natural hair, if it is not part of their genes.

Melanasians migrated from Africa, in case you're not aware. Fact. They are also blessed with the typical features of Africans.

The devil is scared of this lie.

So Chris Rock's hair documentary is the basis to use to generalise Nigerians right? A documentary showing how many Nigerian women, out of the remaining millions? Lol

As much as this is a thread on kids, you cannot force your idea of shaving every females kids hair on every mother, and the pain y'all are venting about isn't all through their lifetime, just a day or two, max, and it not only a Nigerian thing.
I guess Chris Rock went into each of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria to interview those women, and check how much each of them spent on their hairdo annually. Hehehe....

1Sharon:
You missed my point. A friend of mine in Nigeria gets asked if she is mixed race cos her hair is longer than Nigerian standards.

That's a stupid question cos blk ppl can grow long hair if only we'd love it. They don't need to be mixed.

Neither is it due to climate or whateve excuse you have

No ma'am. The part in bold type refers. Length of African hair depends on genetics.

Ive already explained why what you said is racist.

Ive already stated that I dont need you to confirm whether we look better with weaves or not.

We have all noticed people with natural hair who dont look good, but we wouldnt use them to suggest that nobody with natural hair looks good.

Bleaching knots, gluing lace are not what we're talking about here. We're talking about you and your *inverse featurism* which is actually a tool of oppression in itself. You are oppressing yourself in oppressing others.

You were talking about "rounder flatter nose" and Im telling you that Chinese people have that too, with straight hair. You now want to deflect towards "full-featured" which is not going to work. Answer the question: Do all Chinese people look ugly?

Dont worry; please go ahead and try telling somebody in the UK that their big black lips dont suit their English name. I for one will be looking forward to reading your story on front page.

Their adults wear clip on extensions that matches their hair color, so you would never guess it's not their hair. They start wearing it from secondary school. (Just a side note- Sex is legalised where I live from age 13 provided it's with a fellow minor, so extensions are a small deal here.)
So it is now a case of who wears it the most? White women have been wearing their extensions and living their lives in peace. But it becomes a problem when black women wear it?

Madam, keep quiet please! Which damp hair? After many folks have been telling everyone clearly, that black hair comes in different textures, you are still lumping everyone's hair into the same category.

Even when black hair is damp, if your hair is the coarse, tight, curly kinky type, it would still cause you pain, when you comb it. And that has been the story with many people.

Some don't have problems combing damp hair, but others do! Accept the fact that everyone' is different....haba!!
