Not that I'm supporting them

But I don't think private hospitals in Nigeria are capable of handling this kind of injury.

This would have been a liability in their hands if she died there and they probably don't have the facilities to take care of a dead body.. They would have paid to have her transferred to a moutuary.. This are thing they where trying to aviod.

... But they should at "least" give first aid and transfer to her any teaching hospital nearby using their Ambulance

Did you see the pictures everyone saw..

Did you see the pictures that was posted.. Frankly I believe she better of dead.. I know that sound harsh but it true.

First aid ain't gonna do much for her in this case.. I'm not a medical expert but that level of injury to the face requires instant immediate surgery and no amount of first aid will aid her pain.. She has to be pumped with morphine and pain killer..I'm not an expert so I'm gonna stop talking now.

Typical religionists, see as em dey shout "God bless you" upandan like say the woman go still dey alive if say the good Samaritan had said to the woman "may God heal you" and zoomed off without actually doing anything.

To the prayer warriors, if you wan help somebody, do something! All these prayers don't mean a thing in the real world.

But peeps from this part of the world are evil...get mind shoot and cut person for face like say na bush meat.

@OP you na strong man. I wish some rich guy with your kind of heart would lend financial support.

We are already doing something apart from "God bless you". Can you help us with the Op's account details so we can channel some money for the lady?
...while you keep waiting for the " rich guy " to arrive.

The truth is Nigerians most of Dem are wicked, including the ones on nairaland forget, infact most humans are wicked dat is why a simple act of kindness is to be celebrated. I agree with the Bible wen it says the heart of man is DESPERATELY WICKED, we all need to consciously train ourselves daily to show compassion. Yes I mean train cos it's not really inherent. How to Kno u don't have compassion? It's easy everyday u see beggers, amputees, disadvantaged people, hungry kids but by default, u'll just pass. Yes u don't fvcking care. While I was in secondary school, i was going back to school (boarding school) my mum saw me off to the park as usual, she would wait till our bus moves B4 she goes back, while she was waiting one of dos beggers came she was blind and was escorted by a small kid. Wen she begged for money, I gave her 500 naira out of the pocket money my mother gave me, my mum saw it and came wen the woman had left, she was very angry with me because I was complaining in the house, how the money was too small and won't be enough for even one month. She asked if I knew d sacrifice she made in other to bring out dat amount and give to me to go back to school (5k). I had to apologize, besides I was the only one in the full bus to give dat woman anything at all.
So, I Kno it's not the topic on ground but yes most of us are wicked including me sometimes, but I've trained myself to consciously act kindly. It has nothing to do with Christianity or any religion, infact I'm agnostic and will probably soon be fully atheist. So u beta take up the training to show empathy always, not wen convenient.

That woman is currently unconscious.. You think she wanna wake up with one eye and disfured face probably brain damage who knows... in a country as terrible as nigeria where the chances of facial reconstructive surgery are slim. What kinda life is she suppose to live? Or do you see people like her living a well fulfilled life.

I dont absolve the staff of the hospital from being unprofessional, nobody should abuse anyone coming for help.
But the help was sought in the wrong quarters, which is my point.
Private hospitals should not be given that responsibility to 'do what they can do' in an emergency. Many private hospitals have only a single Dr on duty at night time who is likely just someone who has just finished medical school, mandated to look after their stable patients overnight. Even if those stable patients develop complications overnight, they will be in a very tight situation and should be moved to the government hospitals.
Rudeness or politeness in this particular case will help bruise or assuage egos, but that still hasn't helped the patient.
So if the purpose is to talk about unprofessionalism/rudeness that's fine we can go ahead. However, that still wouldn't resolve or bring solution to the daily problems we see faced by patients in a true emergency- such as delay in receiving appropriate care which will invariably lead to a poor outcome.
This leads again to the question- why were they in a private hospital in the first place?

May God bless the OP!

Please send your acct no. I know you sacrificed time you would have used for your personal biz; and also to encourage you to continue to show love as Jesus Christ taught us, I would like to send you N25k. And another N25k for the woman's treatment - I believe you are a God-fearing man.

And please get the lady to contact her family to come take charge (If not already done).

Once more, God bless you and all who are supporting people in need. May your 2020 be blessed and evil far away from you and yours, in Jesus name.

Nigga! Everyone deserves a second chance. Have you ever been in a situation where you're about giving up the ghost?
Or people that are badly burnt, burnt beyond recognition, and they will still be begging people not to let them die?
You're saying this because we're in a very useless country. If we're to be in a place like Germany or Japan, you will never say this.

Only very few private hospitals have an ambulance. Remember OP also called the government ambulance services? Why didn't they respond to his call?

In as much as we would like to save and contribute for the good of that woman, we should not forget that without cause, they won't be effect. Some beast did this. For how much? You used cutlass on woman, with flesh and blood, to the extent of she loosing her eyes. What i am saying in essence is that, we should advocate for jungle justice for those kind of people once they are caught. They do not deserve trial, no prison, no jail. They should be burnt alive.

You made valid points, but you know this facts probably because you are in the medical field, the average okada rider doesn't understand the difference between a primary health care centre or tertiary health care centre, all be knows is that this is a hospital and there are doctors there

Maybe not jungle justice, but I share similar sentiment, we should not forget that this lady's predicament was reportedly caused by the actions of some people, who are still roaming freely

What about the police officers?

I think some people should be losing their job in a saner clime...

The hospital instead of asking you to go somewhere else, ok if they can't handle such cases, but should have an alternative means of getting the patient to a proper hospital, so on that I fault them...

Op, only God or whatever you believe in can repay you...
